Hey all! This is the second video and I'll be chatting through it, trying to explain what I'm trying to do. I hope i was successful, but please feel free to mute me if it gets too much. I won't know, haha! Love to all, B.

I think you did a great job with a paper a lot of people are afraid of.

I guess every Tylenol Watercolor paper has its uses but, I like working on hot press paper. I love the piece you created and I hope you have a great week 😊

I love your carefree spirit. I have been having the same issues. I love my paintings when they are wet…but when I come back and they are dry…it is a very underwhelming experience. I want to capture my paintings while still wet and then digitize them. 😅. I should also try adding layers…that will likely be my next step.

I didn't think I would care for this color combo but I actually do. The end result is quite pretty.

Bettina…just found you! I have all the dotting tools and use them for painting mandelas and rock painting. BUT NOW…. You have inspired me to merge my dot painting with watercolor painting! Love it!

I have some Arches rough, too. It’s been sitting on my desk for months, lol. Thanks to you, I now feel brave enough to work with it 😅.

I recently purchased and tried out SOHO watercolors. WOW! Really pigmented and gorgeous colors. FYI

The Daniel Smith colors are very intense when you paint wet on dry vs wet on wet. When you add water it dilutes the color, but I like the look of both - that is the beauty of watercolors...but as the artist you have to play around with what you like. In that sense I don't think you are using the colors incorrectly. Your artwork/doodles always turn out beautiful and with the intensity of the colors (or lack thereof) your doodles stand out more. It is quite mesmerizing and like I said beautiful.

Yes, of course you are correct. And I do tend to use quite a bit of water. I guess I was curious to see how they would hold up with this technique, since the colors seem to be pretty intense.

Turned out great. Love the gold. Rough paper does make granulating paints shine but are very hard on liner pens. Cold pressed might be a happy medium? Very good papers to try is that are not as expensive as Arches are Hahnemuhle and Baohong. :)

Thanks! I just want to try out as many different things as I can without breaking the bank. I've heard of Baohong paper and I think I might have to try it soon.

I think some of your experience here with the colors has to do with the absorbency of the paper. Paper is a huge variable.
