I believe FULL MOON was one of those albums that not only was ahead of it’s time but was uniquely produced just for Brandy fans and unfortunately the masses slept on it and could not comprehend her new sound. The short era is understandable due to her pregnancy and lack of touring/promotion however the album itself is quite superb production-wise and the lyrical transition from end of one song to the beginning of one song was exceptional. Like Max Martin is to Britney Spears, Rodney Jerkins is to Brandy! 🏆

TRUTHFULLY and PUT THAT ON EVERYTHING are the most beautiful, tearjerking, heartwarming, almost sad songs I have ever heard. 1998 was everything when it came to Brandy. The show “Moesha” was smart to have “Moesha Meets Brandy” in the first episode. Very smart promotion for the end of that summer of dominating the charts.
@@beemocha That right there what you just sung in the quotes was the beginning of the most beautiful part of that song, the last chorus. When she says “even if you dont believe” as an adlib in the last chorus I always start to cry. I recommend you listening to STAY by Destinys Child. If you love TRUTHFULLY by Brandy you will definitely love STAY by Destinys Child that came out one year later.
The producers/writers on Moesha should be heavily ashamed of themselves. Not only did that “your cousin Dorian is really your brother” storyline sucked but the series finale also ended poorly and goes to show you how Hollywood treated Black television during the new decade of the 2000s. Everyone can remember the farewell finale of MASH, CHEERS, FRAISER, FRIENDS, 90210, etc but barely anyone can remember the last episodes of the abruptly cancelled Moesha, Smart Guy, Jamie Foxx, The Wayans Brothers. Although a bit rushed, Sister Sister was the only 90s show that had an actual finale.
That is so true! Same with Girlfriends and Living Single! IMO, the Living Single finale was lackluster considering how ICONIC this show will always be! I love all the shows you mentioned! The BEST Black TV show finales I can remember are for The Cosby Show, A Different World and Martin. ❤

Brandy was & will forever be my favorite artist. I had EVERYTHING Brandy. Every tape/cd, movie, her mini book, the doll (nobody could play with 🤣) & so much more. I had plans to marry Ray J so I could be her sister. 🤣🤣🤣 People still talk so much sh*t but she was literally a CHILD back then. For people to still harbor 30 year old feelings is crazy. Go to therapy.
These past few years Brandy has been getting the flowers and acknowledgment she deserves (along with a lot of our other 90s R&B icons) and I'm so happy for her! I'll always remember how huge her Never Say Never album era was! I was too young to remember her debut, but NSN is still one of my favorite albums. "Angel In Disguise" is my favorite track from that album. I hate how the industry tried to push her out after her third album. The cool thing about this current era is the music industry itself doesn't have the sole say anymore about who remains relevant. Many older acts are working again these days because the fans can more easily show their demand for them. We now have more say about what we consume than we did pre 2010. The acts may not be mainstream anymore but we can at least look them up, see if they have any independent projects going on, and support them, or even get their old music talked about again on a mass scale. It's cool to hear she's signed to a major label again. I wish for a major mainstream comeback with her upcoming album then!
Great piece. Love Brandy. In an interview Dallas Austin said that Monica and Brandy had never met until that day Monica punched her in face at the award show right before they performed. They didn’t have beef. Monica had a problem with her for no reason, also according Dallas Austin.
He said in one or both interviews that Brandy & her mother Sonya, said something negative about Monica right before the performance and that that's what lead to her punching Brandy. But their beef was mainly started by some the adults around them being in their ear, which is sad because their supposed to be the guidance. But also keep in mind, Brandy and her Mama bumped heads with alot of people because of their attitudes back then. But Brandy has matured since then.

Along with THE WRITINGS ON THE WALL by Destiny’s Child and DAYDREAM by Mariah Carey, NEVER SAY NEVER is the G.O.A.T of 90s albums.
I STILL have the Never Say Never cassette! Good times especially when I had the pleasure of seeing Brandy onstage back in the summer of '99! ❤
@@danavixen6274 her team was very very smart and lucrative back then. I once saw a list of her magazine shoots, album signings, doll contracts, tour dates, etc for the year of 1998 and 1999. This all before social media!!
A strong team!!! It is no reason why Britney Spears sold diamond and not Brandy. Then again…we know the reason…
@@AmoMe2009Oh yes! We know! 🙄
All of those albums you mentioned are STILL wonderful from start to finish 🔥🔥
@@AlanaGurl completely!!!!!!!!!! That Daydream album was flavorful and touching RnB while The Writings on The Wall album was a relationship bible!!! Those were the days when folks told actual deep stories in their music.
Loved her still do 4:22
Good job Robert
Who was abusing Brandy?!?! 🥺
I grew up on Moesha, my sister use to watch it every week, as an artist her and monica should have been bigger than Brittney, they had a unique style, like a lot of female R&B/Pop artist.
I agree. As much as I am a fan of both the debut albums of Britney and Christina, it is blatantly obvious that they both sold much more than Never Say Never for a “certain” reason and that reason is inexcusable.
Unfortunately the machine behind MTV or TRL was stronger than UPN.
@@AmoMe2009 They did sell more, because they had a bigger label and MTV marketing their music more, true. In my opinion Brandy and Monica had a natural talent Christina could sing, but they turned Brittney into a white Janet Jackson.
@@Profess84 well said!!!!! All of what you said!!!
@@Profess84Britney is nowhere as good as Janet
