Soapy water is safe to lubricate for easy slip on?

I bought a new cooler, change it, and the problem is solved. The radiator was slightly cracked in the flange at the upper inlet of the hose

Hi Marco, do you know how to get that connector off without cutting it? I'm struggling to pop mine off. It's like it has suction or something. It pops up a little bit but can't seem to get it off :/ Same with the lower hose. Just wondering how you did it when you changed the radiator. Thanks

Hello Aaron, as you can see from the video, I was not able to get the connector off on the bottom part without cutting it off. If you're putting in a new radiator, you don't have to worry about breaking the plastic neck on the old radiator so you can just pry the connector off with a crowbar or big screwdriver. You might need a new connector and hose section by doing that but not a bad idea to replace it anyway. I don't remember having a problem with the upper connector part of the hose.

Just FYI, I did replace the radiator as the leak was coming from the plastic part of the radiator just above the plastic neck. Seams to be a common problem right at that spot. I would highly recommend getting a BEHR radiator.

Did this fix it ? Mine leaking from the same area, I took for service but the workshop (who I don't trust cos it the first time I used them) said it's the radiator leaking and then tried to ask a ridiculous sum of money.

The problem was a very small crack in the radiator just slightly above the hose. I replaced the radiator.

Thanks for your video. I have a 2006 s500 with the m113 engine. My upper hose became so frustrating that I almost had it towed to the dealership. Your video showed me how to take tension off the connection. I made the same cut on the connection, though I used a router type bit on my rotary tool. Made the cut and I was able to easily pull the connection off. (Eazy-Peazy.) Thanks again.

Hi, i have the same problem, i bought a new hose, installed a new hose and it's still flowing. will it help to lubricate the hose with silicone or other sealant? Thank you very much for the advice...

See my full description. The leak was actually coming from a crack in the radiator just above the connector. Very hard to see. I've heard of other people having the leak in the same spot.

My hose blows off . I ordered a new hose but i watch your video again and notice the clip snaps on from the bottom. I'm still replacing the hose because of the O- ring. I was so close to finally drive it.

Was going to change my lower radiator hose today and ran across the snap connection and wasn't sure how to take that apart 😅 was like do I pull ring and twist like a locking cap or??? So I found this video so I know I just pull it off, didn't want to break a $900 radiator. 😂 I'm use to older cars. I have a CL600.

The factory band that you broke, did you get any problems later on.

    • @MrMarco6900
      @MrMarco6900  2 месяца назад

Not sure which band you mean. If you mean the small one where I twisted the wire to hold it on, then no, no problems with that after 3 years, haven't been able to find that clip anywhere, wire has been holding fine. No problems with anything else after installing a new radiator.

I have the exact same problem now! Who did you buy the part from? How were you able to get off. Mine is almost cemented.

    • @MrMarco6900

Late reply sorry, the leak was actually coming from a tiny crack in the radiator just above the connector.

After the sealant didn't work, I used a pressure tester and found the leak. The leak was actually coming from a crack in the radiator just slightly above the connector. I'm working on part 2, how to change out the radiator.

@mrmarco6900, how did you finally determine that there was a crack in the neck? Pressure test? Or was it big enough to see?
