Every year there are NCAA athletes running amazeballs times, and then people start comparing them to the greatest and saying they are the future of sport. And then we never hear about them again. You see, no one cares about NCAA performances outside of the US. But Ms Hobbs is welcome to prove me wrong and qualify for the Olympics.

It's not rude. It's an observation and she meant no harm by her statement. There are many other commentators who have made these same exact statements that another athlete's absence is what opened the door for others to get noticed and to compete at their highest potential.

NC A&T isn't in the hills and this isn't particularly new. We have had NCAA level runners in recent years and even a National Champion. Our football team I pretty good too.. 🙂 NC A&T is also the largest HBCU in the Nation and produces more black engineers than any other institution. Serious business.

Last NCAA Championship in 2019, who finished third behind Angie and ShaCarri (Angie was in this race and had a chance to win the 200 meters three consecutive times. No mention of her and she went to the World Championships) in the 200 meters? Your winner, Cambrea (freshman). Steiner didn't make it to the final. To say her not being there opened up the door. Get out of here. She won that little indoor title where so many of the athletes are not running. NCAA and Espn better get their ISH together on highlighting no proven athletes and overlooking the true favorites. The amount of coverage they put on some of these athletes who didn't even finish in the top 3 was ridiculous. They ignored Brandon Miller and his brilliance as a freshman, and Jewett as well. If you been watching track, you know these two were the overwhelming favorites. The men's 200 meter the same. I am sure I can go through the list and continue.
Top 2 went to high school in North Carolina. Clark went to North Rowan in Rowan county, which is the next county north on I-85 from Kannapolis, NC (Cabarrus county).

how did Abby Steiner's absence pave the way for any of these ladies, indoor performance guarantees nothing outdoors, for example Matt Boling won indoors and wasn't a factor outdoors
I want to see Abby run outdoors. Saw her compete at state a few years back and have been waiting. She would've been a very good addition to this field.
You notice the Alabama runner finishes second indoors too. So there is a little correlation. The difference with boiling is his running mechanics and running style he’s very tense abbys runs very smooth. 22.3 collegiate record indoors with her running style would have translated very well for her outdoors.
@@MrHurdleking24 well the correlation is they are fast runners, so if you run fast indoor you should more than likely run fast outdoors, but it doesn't mean the others won't be faster than you are, Using Boling as an example his style should lean more toward outdoors than indoors one would think a straining runner would not do as well indoors as a smoother style runner with the tighter curves indoor

Elaine Thompson is 5'6" and is a great 200 meter runner. If I never saw Sturgis run and just saw how she was built I would not expect her to excel. Goes to show you!
