I'm 58. Bought my 2019 STI a few months ago...with the wing. Oh yeah!
Jenni Ludes Grats. Any modifications in mind?
Good for you! 👍🏽
I have a question. What's the rpm @ 62mph? Also does the Rpms gets boosted as you change the drive modes?
Thanks, I'm thinking about swapping my Audi S5 to a new sti.
I just turned 30 & bought my new 2019 STI wingless several months ago.
@@agilenjeyamraj1739 it has a close ration gear box so rpms are a little higher than most cars. If im not mistaken 60mph is about 2600 rpm. problem is if you go 70mph and up i think that is above 3000 rpm. Then you get poor gas mileage and the car feels like its always partially in boost. As for Drive modes, this effects the throttle mapping which i think is what you mean.
My first Raiti's Rides shout out at 05:17! Thank's Joe! Still 100% in LOVE with my 2019 STI with wing delete! Best car I've ever owned! (You were a BIG part of me getting one with all your WRX and STI reviews!)
You are the man Frank! I had to give you that shout out! Thank for always driving tons of miles for the Raiti's Rides celebrations. I am glad I could share some of my Subaru passion with you!
Car Story He broke your car in for you. Kept it under 4K and outta boost for sure. LOL. Great for them EJ rings. Hope you got a discount for the premature hard driving and free advertising for the dealer. Least give you a free oil change before you took ownership?
Scott V. Have another drink and stay classy sport.
One thing nobody is really talking about regarding the wing is, how much is style, and how much is actually needed for downforce. Personally I don't like the way it looks, but if it really helped cornering at high speeds or was necessary I wouldn't care what it looks like. On the other hand, I prefer my cars to be sleepers, understated, but surprisingly capable when called into battle. If the wing wasn't going to help me a lot while driving, Im probably the guy that would do the delete. Databyter
Just turned 42 and the wing was the only way to go for my 2020. Kudos to Reeves Subaru, the best Subaru dealership in the Tampa Bay area IMO.
Ordered a 2020 STI in white with the wing - far more fun and engaging than all its competitors :)
Free wing delete? Feels like it should be about a $400 savings.
Only stupid owners will do that u can sell the stock wing for 150 and get a proper wing
@@MonicaHolly143 yeah it's called a trunk swap, that's what I did. Ebay also has them listed for sale. I will never understand why you have to buy a premium STI to have the wing delete.
I initially did not like your review style, but your positive attitude and enthusiasm for all cars really shines through and now I dont miss a single review. Keep up the great work man you've earned a subscriber for life. I dont know how many times I've seen you review an STi and it always feels new and unique.

Bought mine there! Kayla was awesome to work with. Service department was down to earth and understood my concerns!
That is so very cool! They are a great group of people!
Great job wrapping what will be considered an icon for years to come! Please please please keep us up to date with any news as it’s released on the new platform. Have a good day guys.
Thanks Brad!
Fantastic Joe. Wifey has said yes to STI with small wing, after watching this. So only a few months and I’ll be in the club. Trading a forester to move into STI club.
I just got rid of my 17’ WRX for a 20’ WRX . Big difference with how it drives! Absolutely love it. Got the short throw shifter too.
Congrats Bryce!
Had a silver ‘06 STI big wing. Now a silver ‘20 low spoiler w/ short shifter. Sweet. Old school performance for an ancient mariner.
I like that's it's offered with and without the wing. I feel it's a personal taste thing.
Great review of an awesome little rally car.
Ice silver metallic is such a dope color . I own a 2019 WRX and recommend it to anyone lookin to buy a wrx or STI
Imho makes it look more like a Camry 😂
Honestly one of the best reviewers I’ve ever seen. I’m shopping for a new car and these videos are great!
It does look good without the wing, but it’s such an iconic status symbol of the STI I couldn’t have gotten mine without one.
It looks terrible without the wing - FACT
Picked up a 2020 STI this week. Definitely happy on my decision. Thanks for all the info.
Wow, I want one after watching that driving segment, although most likely it would be to stiff for someone of my advanced years. As far as wing delete, absolutely imo if you are north of 39 years old. Love the wheel changes and the day glow yellow calipers! Fantastic w/ the silver exterior paint as my internet friend Joe says! Lastly, imo I would wait for the 2021 at this point. The current car is quite an old platform dating back to 2004. Joe, congratulations on the 50k subscriber achievement and you are kicking it once again in 2020!
HI, I just bought a Red one with a wing. I'm 70 and I will never grow up.
Congrats! That is so very awesome!
Coolest grandparent ever
Well, I found where my car came from. When I called Subaru yesterday, they asked me if I got my car from Reeves and its originally a Florida car. It was bought in Florida, then for some reason sold and went to auction. A dealer here in Texas picked it up. This car now has around 6700 miles on it. Fun car. Thought I would give a little history on it from when you test drove it.
I'm 39 bought a 2017 with the wing but just did a trunk swap. I love both but I prefer the subtle look! I get way less people tailgating me now for sure :)
I'll go with the wing delete. I think a wing attracts too much attention on most cars that have them. Thanks for introducing me to Subee's!
You are so very welcome! Thanks for being so supportive!
If youre going with the wing delete, maybe just a buy a WRX instead of the STi version!
Yours truly,
The whole Subaru community
@@ejx555 Why?
@@amill1563 because it goes against the whole foundation of Subaru's motorsport pedigree
The wing has been a defining factor for the STi for decades
amill1563 don’t listen to this guy he’s entitled to his own opinion but I love my STI with the wing delete, makes it much more sleek and mature looking doesn’t attract as much cop attention and is more of a sleeper cause everyone thinks I’m driving a base wrx till they see the inside or the badges and notice I have an STI limited, go with what you like not what others tell you! Both are great!
Loving these STI videos Raiti!!! Looking forward to getting one by the end of this year hopefully. Saving up for a down payment at the moment. Watching your vids makes me even more motivated!
You can do it! Thanks for letting me share them with you!
Same here I had to downgrade from my 2018 sti but I can’t wait to get another one at the end of the year after I purchase my house #Goals
Honestly, it would be nice if Subi offered something in between the giant wing and the tiny spoiler.
Then you won’t be able to see the cop behind you scanning your speed
My exact specs. She will be mine in a week. Can’t wait.
Congrats! That is so very awesome!
@@RaitisRides Got it earlier than expected. Oh. My. God. The test ride model I had didn't have the short throw shifter, mine does. You're right: worlds (plural) of difference.
And those seats. Gosh, are they good.
I'm gonna have to stay cool and collected behind the wheel of this gem. Grips for days...grips for days...
A tad too rev happy for my liking (I drove diesel for years) but far from a deal breaker. I guess i'll get used to it.
Oh. My. God. Seriously, they really want to sell a new version of this? They could sell that beast for 10 more years and nobody would mind...
I hate the boy racer ping pong table on the trunk so I think it’s a great idea to have the delete option.
Raiti, I love the way you do your car reviews!!! The attention to detail is simply superb! Thank you for what you do!!!!
Thank you! I agree :)
4:40 i love my guys honesty, he's not just fanboying
Im picking up that exact car this weekend, cant wait!
I feel like it should come with a louder exhaust for being a performance sedan
mine sets off car alarms when started so .... factory is plenty loud
@@pedro-on-wheels lol no it doesnt
Should definitely do a video or live chat about what you think the new 2021 WRX & STI will look like and what will the rumors are saying of what will be under the hood! It will be a very engaging and informative video or live stream for the Subaru lovers out there! ✌🏻
Waiting to get my first STi when the 2021s are available. Loved both my WRXs. Subaru all the way
I love the wing but there is something cool about a wingless STI. Gives it a sleeper vibe
I hope subaru realizes this type of infotainment system is way better than the big screen in the outback and legacy.
Yes...I love the "plain" looking WRX, but I always wanted the power an tech of the STI!
Yes the wing is “iconic”, but seasons change. The STI is a kids car. Some people over 30 would still like to drive an STi, but it’s nice to have the option to ditch the wing. STi kids are growing up and buying Audi’s. Rather have an RS3 with more performance and some class. I had 3 STi’s and can’t see getting another one unless this car gets more power, and some better fuel economy. It will always have a following, but I would go wingless. Or tint the windows dark so nobody can see me in that thing
the older you get the bigger the wing should be.
Hell yeah!
Yeah... Increase exponentially
Great review Joe, I love the STI, I like the wing delete option, but color and setup more like the one you have. Great video again
Fan base with the wing. And a fan base without. Still a bad ass car. It’s the wing for me though
All the oldies like talking about the big wing but it dose still turn heads even from the oldies lol I have had so many old ladies tell me how cool my car is
I love the wing!
@@RaitisRides it dose so much for the car on high speed highway corners we have a lot in my area very hillish area and it makes a big difference at 90 to 100mph
Cougar magnet
At first my husband didn’t want the wing. Then he kept looking at it and it grew on him. Now, he’s glad he got the wing - even though he’s 41 😎
41 is not old! LOL I am glad he went big! You are awesome for being so supportive!
@David Jakubiak You are not old though!
What do you mean "even though"...? Lol 41 is the new 21
41 isn’t old at all - more like 41 years young! 😀 and besides, I convinced him to buy it!! 😁
@David Jakubiak That's becasue you are a tool.
Best reviews out there!
That really means so much John!
U sold me, I been doing my research, looked at the mustang GT, civic type r, gti, supra (disqualified because it's not manual), the sti limited is my top choice so far, might wait ti check out the 400z before my final decision, but the sti limited got me
Great review, I know these are a ton of fun to drive. Buddy of mine had a 2013 and it was a blast.
STi and Evo without the giant wing is like decaffeinated soymilk coffee.
I freaking love it! LOL
Yes and gag. The wing is what makes the STI instantly recognizable.
I like my toyota camry sti with no wing. It's fast and sleeper. No need to yell hey i drive sti and i have giant wing.
The wing look corny
Great video I’m looking at a wingless limited 2020 on Thursday, already has a titanium cat back with burnt blue tips and a GFB blow off valve I’m so excited! Thanks for all the info !
Update I bought and f**king love it !
Happy New Year Sir. I love your videos. I can't wait for the next WRX/STI. I hope it's what people will want.
I love how you put your raiti's rides logo over the speedo 😂🤣😭👌
Thanks man!
Where is my spoiler?
Joe: I deleted it
LMAO! I'll sell it to you! LOL
Please keep the change I will take the car😂
Joe, don't zonk the low armrest, because, if you want to rest your arm you put it on the gear lever, this is not automatic. When your arm is resting on the shifter, you can immediately go to action to block the BMW coming from the back and is going to try to cut you from your right.
I totally understand where you are coming from. The bad news is you do not want to do that. By adding pressure to the shift lever you can actually wear out the synchros faster.
There always a place in my heart for STi but with that said after tradeing it in I've never looked back. It's Performance while still good it's know longer a good bang for your buck. My 2019 stinger GTS has a 0-60 of 4.7-4.8 seconds and is 4100lbs......with better luxury and comfort while keeping a decent performance AWD.....only thing about WRX/STi is the damn things don't depreciate....🤷🏻♂️
But.. but, you got a Kia 🤣
@@MW3MANxDPRO That's what I was thinking.
I like the look of the Sti with no wing
Absolutely not gotta have the massive wing. One of the best features on the sti. Nothing like keeping the kid alive inside 👍👍
No wing. I like the sleeper look.
This is true!
We love the STI spoiler delete! It's a great car either way! We were cracking up 😂! Buy it however you like 😉!
What no Twinkies today?? 🤭
I am so glad that I could share this one with you guys.
@@nettejean5912 Wasn't very hungry! LOL
LOL!
I know the type r is a little better performance wise but I like the look of the sti more. Good video.
AGREED!
Reason why I just ordered my sti... every single one I found had no wing; And for me it’s a must. Well now I just have to wait 2 months and I’ll have it at least the way I want it.
BrightsydeBill it’s been two months, have you got the car yet? How do you like it?
Fun review, Joe! 🏁 Thank you.
Thanks for letting me share it with you Kenneth.
My kind of sti is as follows,
BBS Tires
Recaro Seats
Custom sparco shifter
blue exterior color
no wing
turbocharged
Gotta have the wing, idc how boy ricer it looks, it suits the cars body so well from every angle, it like the car was designed around the wing.
Great review Joe! It's looks cleaner without the "wing" . I don't know if you have a motorcycle licence but would you review a Polaris Slingshot, it looks cool on the website ! Have a great week!
Yes I do actually! I need to get my hands on one.
Our weather hit the 70's today in the Northeast and some guy went by me in one of those with his better half. Up until now, you could only get a manual transmission. My understanding is that they are soon to have an auto option.
@@AStanton1966 probably, the redesign looks auto
I drive a 2020 limited with the wing. No regrets
I give the wingless option a zonk. I have had the 2005 and I deleted the wing but then the car felt less special. Nowadays, I am old without a doubt and have a 2015 and love the wing. It is a signature attribute of the model. And I think the wing is done really well for a boxey picnic bench. Haha.
Just chiming in with my .02 dollars.

Great review. Only thing Im gonna zonk is you really didnt seem too into reviewing this car...didnt seem too excited or interested that day....not sure what you were going through but I wish they woulda installed an energy drink and a shot of enthusiasm on the host over there at raitis rides but hey not everything is perfect. Solid review nevertheless.
My answer is yes! I am 50 and I do not care for that boy racer look. Maybe when I was younger. Love the videos sir! P.s. get one without the wing one will have a STI that is different and kinda special.
I get you Joe. My MY19 WRX spoke to me and I knew then that the WRX was my car!
I like it with the wing delete. That makes it a sleeper.
Cant wait for the 2021 wrx/sti review
Bought mine with the wing deleted and I still have every kid in a Civic and BMW trying to race me. Next I need an emblem delete.
You should have bought a prius
I would have to say noooo to the wing. That’s because I’m old. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Joe!👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
You are hilarious Larry! You are not old, just seasoned!
@David Jakubiak 52 is not old! 152 is old!
Raiti's Rides I like that!👌🏻🙏🏼
The only wings I like are 🐓wings😂
Love the STI....But I prefer lip spoiler. Let the flames begin :)
I think you can realistically do the 0 to 60 in 4.6 Subaru is legendary on underrating there numbers
AGREED!
the 2009 2.5L and up Subaru WRX(non sti) would do 0-60 in 4.7 secs stock. The newer WRXs suck though with the 2.0 engine. I think that is why Subaru choose to have the 2.0 engines in the current WRXs to give it less torque and because they were beating the STIs stock in 0-60 when they had the old 2.5L engines.
Not to state my age but I qualify for Medicare! I bought 2019 STI with lip delete and still had young guy in Camaro that wanted to race from light the other day. People still know what the car is.
This is true.
LOVE the STI!
I am so glad that I could share it with you!
I like it, I like it even without the 4ft high wing spoiler ...
They both look great!
Nice review once again👍
Thanks Philip for always tuning in! You are so very supportive!
Great STI limited review Joe. Any chance you can do a WRX limited review? Thinking about getting one. Premium versus limited. Thanks
Thanks for the compliment! I will get that together!
Thanks Joe!!!
@ns2664philly get the STI. Bought a 2020 STI and I would have regretted not getting one. I was looking at the WRX Limited. But I wanted a STI. So that is what I got.
Only way I would get one. I want it to be understated.
I can understand where you are coming from!
2020 type R was announced, waiting for that video :) :)
Yes sir I saw that but it has not been publicly unveiled! I am on it though!
Can’t wait for the day I have an STi (with or without wing!) parked next to my S197.
#dreamgarage
I love your videos man!
I think there is a third option that Subaru missed the boat on, a speed sensitive retractable spoiler, "active aero", like you can get on a Porsche or Audi. Something that is subtle and functional! Why should German manufacturers be the ones to seemingly be the ones to incorporate this feature. Come to think of it I am also surprised someone hasn't fabricated one up and taken it to Sema.
That would of been interesting!
It's actually a DCCD, Driver Controlled Center Differentiated (with an auto setting)
Yes sir!
I’m middle age and I would wing delete, no question, still looks good and lose nothing with aerodynamics
Why would anyone get a STI with a wing delete? A naked STI is indecent there are children outside.
LOL!
they aren't 18 years old
Really thought about a new one. Really need to take one for a spin. Just wish they would turn the power up a bit. Especially for over 40k.
I never liked the wing..... glad that it’s available without....
the wing has a function and will hurt resale value by deleting it?
I thought about deleting the wing.
It looks really good with it tho...
🤷🏽♂️
AGREED!
Hey Raiti! Glad to see you doing well! Looking at the STi, but to sunroof or not to sunroof?
You have to have the wing on the STI no matter what age you are IMO.
Age should never factor into buying a vehicle. It’s your money so buy what you like. I’m currently searching for a ‘17 Focus RS.
I totally agree!
Love Manuals 🚘
I agree with you!
Joe I just don’t see the $43k in this car. With that said, it’s another outstanding video by Racer Joe the best in the business.
where's the competition? Golf R, civic R? (haldex or FWD)
this man somehow found LITERALLY the only twisties in Florida.
Love the channel and im keeping my wing thank you🤣🤣🤣
No. Would you eat a cheeseburger without cheese?
3:40 Fun Fact: in Australia the 2019 STi gets the new machined wheels. They haven't grown on me yet.
Joe what has better handling a STI or BRZ and what has the better wheel feel and shifter feel?
Great question! In my opinion it's an apples to oranges comparison - two very different cars with very different overall feel. BRZ is that sporty, rear wheel drive feeling, super slick shifting and feels like a little suction cup. STI is a powerhouse where the all wheel drive grips the pavement like a beast, super slick shifting as well.
I always felt tbe WRX tear wing was a little much.
I drove one once that just had a rear spoiler lip. But is was very tastefully made and had an after market exhaust.
I like the s209 wing better
