She honestly looks so much creepier now that she’s older. It’s honestly a great addition to the story, too. She’s inconsistent with the look and the acting like a child the first time Esther tries this, making the second movie look like she perfected it this time. I’m so excited for this movie
edit: lotta people are confused so “second movie” i am referring to is the 2009 original. I see it as a chronological order thing
Orphan 3 . Esther sneaks into nuclear sub and starts war between US, China, and Russia.
Everyone dies. Except Esther, who sneaks into SpaceX rocket and goes to live on Mars

It's suppose to be a prequel which is weird
@@turishko I think that's the point of the op. Since this was a prequel, I guess we could say that this is also Esther's first time at acting like a child. Like what the op said, she's inconsistent at this movie which is a great detail.
Isabelle Fuhrman did an excellent job as a psycho killer Esther in 1st Orphan movie. She's so talented and I know she'll show us how much capable she is again. Eagerly waiting to see Esther.
She was awesome in the hunger games as well, she's a bright, bright girl. I love her.

Prequel.... 1 year before the other one
how can you say its your favorite, but you don't even know that Esther dies in the first one?
The first one was so good and doesn’t get talked about enough; the plot twist alone is something that I never would have guessed. Can’t wait to see this!
Edit: thanks for 23K likes!
Even reading this comment gave me chills. First one was amazing, this one looks great as well! Excited!
I recently had my best friend watch it for the first time and I had to bite my tongue the entire time because I wanted to see her first time reaction to that plot twist & it was so great 🤣
Eh, people had the first twist guessed before the movie came out, down to the use of the choker to hide injuries. Still solid, but easy to spot.
Its about to be hyped
My favorite horror film ever. HOLY FUCK IM HYPED
I felt like the first movie slipped under so many people's radar because it was not much talked about. People thought it was your run-of-the-mill child possession horror movie but the plot twist was something so refreshing and unexpected. I know it left me stunned when all was revealed. This sequel looks promising as well. Can't wait to see it!
Well It's a prequel .... So it adds more excitement
Always wanted to watch this
The first movie is my all time favorite.
wdym? orphan was so popular in that era. even almost all my friends in the school watched and talked about it back then (im not an american btw)
Do you have to watch the first one to watch the sequel?
I love this movie! Rather than comparing it with the first movie that came out in 2009, I’m just happy that they actually made a new part with the same actress. There is no need to compare which one is better than the other. Both are great, and both are about the same story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
wait.. how did they get the same actress 13 years later to play the same "child"?
@lostn65 They just had everyone wearing these large boots that added a lot of height so Isabelle Fuhrman seemed shorter.
Prequel was actually suprisingly good. I'm not fond of prequels to begin with nor the director behind this film due to his lack of good movies, but he finally made one that's not just really good, but damn near close with the first. The ongoing story line was well written, the midway twist had my jaw on the floor for 5 mins,Fuhrman did a really good job reprising her role and the rest of the cast did well too,and I thought the editing tricks to make her look shorter and younger were done right. Film completely blew me away. First 30 mins were fine and it had a few cheap editing tricks that bugged me,but other than that, film was solid, bat shit crazy, and really fun 90 minutes.
Is it just the same as the first original film just wondering if it’s worth watching
No its not.. well somethings are as we expected but it has its own fresh direction. Great watch. Ive seen it about 8 times now gets better every watch.. always found styles a bland actress but she's perfect for tge mum role and Esther was great again though we see her from a different angle

Yes feel ya...it kinda annoying new modern trend in HORROR they delay the movies over n over to milk the arrival of the trailer n build interest. The main idea of the first movie was that she was not disguising herself, she was a child looking adult
Watched Orphan 2009 and really enjoyed Isabelle Fuhrman’s performance as Esther here at age 12 years old. Then this new prequel was as good as the 2009 film . No offense but trying to make this as convoluted as the "Conjuring" series wouldn't really work considering that Esther died in the first movie. Plus not every horror movie needs to be a 5 to 6 movie meta-series in order to be good. Honestly the "underratedness" of the movie "Orphan" just makes it even more terrifying and "foreign" if that makes any sense. It's a very subtle and suspenseful masterpiece as it is, no bells or whistles needed. Also I like that they didn't just milk the "Orphan" series dry like they did with the "Conjuring" series. It probably would've lost it's charming horror touch and become pretty stale in an instant. Making it just another "Chucky" or "Freddy Krueger" montage. Plus personally I think this horror prequel came out at the perfect time. It'll definitely be a terrifyingly twisted and nostalgic ride for "Orphan" fans everywhere. 😊
Social media was already evolved back then. "Snakes on a Plane" was really viral back in 2006 on the internet despite flopping.
It not underrated
Oh my god did they bring back the original actress for Esther!? That's honestly surprising given how she'd be an actual adult now. This looks pretty good!
I’m so happy they did! I guess now that she’s an actual adult, it works better for the storyline of Esther being an adult and not a little girl
@@ItsRaffyFlowers Me too. I'm very impressed that she still manages to pull off the Esther character after all of these years.
@@udontknowme9024 Yes, she is
@@udontknowme9024 Esther/Leena is very much still an adult pretending to be a child.

i can never listen to “that’s the glory of love” ever the same again
Let’s go. The first Orphan is easily a favourite of mine and I can’t wait to watch the prequel. So happy they got the same actress too! Let’s go.

@@magoog9864 init! Exciting :D
The first Orphan was a near perfect horror/thriller! Cannot wait for this!
Is this the remake or ACompletely New movie?
@@onemanvoice7392 this is the prequel where it takes place in the past when Esther got adopted by her first family.
@@superomegax4199 and killed everybody
I just watched this movie on Paramount and I must say I’m actually surprised it was SO GOOD! I was a little skeptical at first because the main character does look older from the first Orphan but you forget about it half way through. The plot twist had my neck broke! I don’t want to spoil it but I literally was jumping around in my bedroom by the end. Esther is so iconic 😂😂 loved this movie !
I know other people have said this but I will say it again. The fact that the actress is now a adult and is playing a child in a child's body makes it even more creepy lol
@@carlodonn8983 she just doesn’t look like a child at all.
The intent was to have a movie about an adult in a child’s body and they did that in first one.
This time around, you lose that “an adult in a child’s body” because she simply just looks like an adult.
Her acting is phenomenal because there are moments where she does come across like a “child” but you gotta really suspend belief that you’re looking at an adult trying to pass off child looks wise.
@@steverogers7601 fair point.
-Spoiler warning
I've noticed in this movie Esther seems less experienced in acting/looking like a child and has made some mistakes in covering her tracks.
I'd like to think over the next 2 years she became more good at what she does to look like a child, especially when she smeared all that makeup and props off, and seemed to learn from her past mistakes coz I can't ever remember her slipping up more than once.
I have paramount + yet I can’t even find it and my account isn’t on child only (plus I’m 19) yet can’t seem to find it :(
Orphan came out 13 years ago and Isabelle Fuhrman still looks like she can pass as a kid lol. Mind you, she’s 25 years old now. When Orphan was filmed she was 11.
I had no idea they made a prequel. It looks good, but it doesn’t look better than the first film. I see Julia Stiles is playing a role similar to the one in the Omen remake back in 2006. There were a lot of scenes that were axed out of the original screenplay of the first Orphan film. Like, the scene where Esther killed Brenda just like she did John, only this time at the school with a pair of scissors.
No Isabella in orphan 1 have 12
I disagree. She looks like a woman. A very short woman.
It's a very well made prequel. It's as much exciting as the first movie. The twist in the middle is really smart and unexpected. Isabelle Fuhrman is really talented. And I gotta give Julia Stiles some credit for her very decent performance.
RIGHT? I never saw that coming, but it made the rest of the movie worth it!
@@CrystalMoon72902 yeah I loved it!! Apparently they are intested in doing a third movie. Which would be a prsequel to this.
@@carlodonn8983 A third film, really? Well it could be a prequel in seeing her background as a kid and teen years. Though in Orphan in her Bible, she had pictures of other men, so maybe it could be when she went to another family before being adopted by the Coleman's.
@@CrystalMoon72902 I read that before she was sanctioned in a mental hospital , she worked as a prostitute for rich pedophiles
did you even watch the movie? it fucking sucked, every scene was obvious outcome, and it had no plot twists or original content
Fuck I deserve this. The first one with the deaf little girl was flat out genius and it looks like they've used the time that passed well. I can't wait for it and hope that my country will have the balls to distribute it in cinemas because I need to watch it right.

Talking about movie The Omen, Julia has that undeniable presence in a horror screen. 😊
Movie was so good, just watched in theatres and wow the plot twist made my jaw dropped
The original Orphan film is Brilliant,
I Love the twist its amazing,
Esther is so Cute & Adorable,
You just cant help but love her
Finally after 13 years of waiting, Esther is back and strong❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
True, after 13 years
I didn't expect the plot twist. Her performance in this is amazing.
Duhh⚡😎
Yes the plot twist was good but the ending felt short, wish it was little bit more longer, like 20 minutes more. Overall it was a decent prequel though.
@@amy_yoshikawa fr the 2009 movie was much longer this one felt rushed which is kinda weird since they started filming during late 2020
In the 1st film she was supposed to be already fully grown. This doesn't make sense.
@@karikka.0025 maybe they had very limited locations during the time since the pandemic was strong back in 2020 or the writer/director don't had more to do with the story.

I was definitely rooting for Esther by the end 😂😂
Ok so anyone hasn’t seen it watch it!!! 10/10 for a sequel and it pulls together any unanswered questions you had on the first one
judging from the trailer, this prequel will be a blast, I mean look at Esther, this is probably the first time that she has ever acted and tried to look like a child (which explains why there are "inconsistencies") and also, I hope this will somewhat get to the point where we will know Esther's origins
This is a squeal not a prequel
@@princealmighty5391 it is announced as a prequel tho, and the title suggests it, being with "first kill"

Even more horrifying of a backstory than I expected! I love the insinuation that she killed a child and passed herself off as them.

But I thought the mother in the first movie drowns her

I remember watching Orphan when I was younger and it traumatised the sht out of me lol. I couldn’t watch anything with Isabelle Fuhrman, such as when she was in Hunger Games, and I hated the name ‘Esther’ for AGES.
Can’t wait to watch this one though hahaha am excited to revisit this story
She is such a phenomenal actress! The first one was so good and creepy!! She portrayed her character so well! Can’t wait to see this one! 👏🏼
Those who are genuinely inlove with Orphan since 2009, can still see Esther the way she was back then
I just watched the movie and loved it.... i didn't expect that plot twist it was brilliant....
I also liked that we got to see her life at the saarne institute
The only thing that did annoy me a bit was the ending when the dad realises she isnt his daughter... it was done way to fast and quick...
her teeth fallout and immediately its like he knew what was going on and he's like your a monster and then just dies...
I think that last revelation scene deserved better and more dialogue between them
It felt too much like let's just find a way to get this scene over with.
Wait wait wait, what!?! There’s another orphan!? Do you know how long I’ve been waiting for this? Idk how I never saw the trailer for it until I randomly decided to search up, “good movies to watch”! Wow!😫 so happy I did!
Wow! They did a good job de-aging her. And Isabelle’s accent is still so spot on. 👌🏼 So excited to see this! 😍❤️🔥
that's funny, cuz i think she looks like shes oh i don't know 13 years older. which is weird right, cuz shes supposed to be younger.
@@jack_rabbit There are some limitations with them not using CGI, but I still think it’s pretty decent. If you saw that leaked clip, she definitely looked older in that than she did in the trailer. That very last scene in the trailer, she definitely looked like a child there. Her accent is still on point as well.
isn't she supposed to look a bit older, because its a prequel
@@abishaysantram6291 Yeah, I think she will look older in the beginning. Especially since she’s still in a mental hospital then.
@@abishaysantram6291 that makes zero sense. If it's a prequel she should look younger. She isn't Benjamin Button lmao
The first orphan was a truly terrifying movie… the twist was brilliant and unexpected…
Okay but I already see that the fingerprints did not match. This seems like massive spoilers of this movie
I really enjoyed this prequel. I hope there's one more movie at least.
Boy the turn in this movie was very unexpected!! Great Job on this 👏🏾
I have been anticipating this movie for a long time and it's great to see Isabelle Furhman back in her iconic role. I'm just a little worried this film might flop because we already know Esther makes it out and we obviously know her twist reveal. It's a prequel so that means everyone is probably going to die. Also, the director of this film doesn't have a great span of movies. All of these listed have flopped of his including The boy 2,Separation,The devil inside, etc. i will admit,it looks very fun,Intense, and hopefully we get a good and shocking origin story. I just really hope the film doesn't disappoint because I absolutely adore the first movie.
But that the key guarantee U have a twist within twist. Yes we know she actually gonna end up being a grown woman pretending 2 b a lil girl, but the back story n ending just have something that'll tricked the viewers. Why else have cops/detective characters N physiological character in the plot?
Plus it took over a decade to finally get a sequel. When the movie came out, Ester was played by a real child, selling the role of someone passing as a kid. Now the actress clearly looks grown up which makes it harder to believe that she is playing a little girl, set even earlier than the original movie
0:35 look at this!! her mother was helping Esther to change and was seeing Esther with the band covering her breasts, does she already know that Esther was not a child?
@@lawrencetalbot8346 re-watch original 1 N C they a actually used make up to make her look older especially in twist ending scene. The last 30 seconds of this trailer is pure genius the sound design the visuals the haunting clips morphed together. I can’t wait for this.
I just watched the Orphan prequel and it was sooooo good, the plot is so much better than the first one.
I dont agree..I kinda forgot about if the first one was good or not, but this second one was not good it was stupidly unrealistic. and its a realistic movie, no magic or anything , its based off of real life, yet she can walk through a house thats on fire without a cough? Simply breathing that stuff in will make you weak its so unrealistic.. Not to mention her oddly strong strength for her size. I wish they just ended it differently at least.
