Hi! I don't have custom downpipes (yet). This exhaust system is cat-back straight piped. You will not find downpipes off-the-shelf for your car, I'm afraid. I will design and build my own when I get the time, but you can always have them custom made for you on demand, too. Ferrita, a Swedish company, has made a beautiful turbo-back straight pipe system for my friends ML420 CDI. If you are looking for high quality. There is also the option to turn to the local garage.
i have heard and read that some people are using parts from the exhaust of a 6,3L AMG. Do you use such things aswell or what have you done to this beast to sound like a 5.5L AMG
The mufflers, specifically, from the 63's are very sought after for the nice sound. They are not very restrictive, and contribute to reduce raspiness and gives a nice deep tone. Thing is, with a turbocharged diesel you don't really need to worry about raspiness. And straight pipes has the least restriction possible, while also being the lighter and cheaper option. My exhaust setup is simply straight pipes from the catalytic converters back. Can't make it sound louder with any mufflers 😉 Thank you for your comment!
