Larger bore exhaust. On the 3 litre equivalent it takes 3" to get a decent sound. I'm guessing that's a 3" straightpipe custom exhaust (and slightly worn turbocharger by the blue haze) and a dpf delete too.
Why do you think that? The can sound the same as petrol, but they emit a lot of particles hence why you all of them have filters muffling the sound, but this has nothing to do with the motor itself

@@aperson4713as someone who has ridden buses with detroits (mostly series 50, rode a 6v71 gm fishbowl once last year.) i have ridden much more cummins buses (isl, ism, isl9, l9). whilst i love how the 6v71 sounds. i prefer the isl and ism from cummins, they're so throaty. yes, the 6v71 has a very sweet sound to it, but i just prefer a more bassy engine to one that screams. the fishbowl by the way, was a preserved one from 1964.
