Two years on and I still absolutely love your work here. The positive tone of the overall song works well, because I find it evokes that good feeling of just enjoying the series - yet the lyrics also align well with the strong subtext of all of the TRON materials: self, and the freedom of a synthetic race. Self-realization and potential. Not to mention that plenty of the scene parallels here are excellent, in my view. To be honest, if I've had a long day - or if I know I'm going to have a long day - this is my go-to as a pick-me-up. A cup of tea, some of this, and it's alright. Thank you for your hard work and great tribute, Draqua!
Adrienne Morin I am positively floored by the kindness and depth which has gone into this comment. Words cannot express the happiness and gratitude that I feel upon reading this. I want you to know that everything you have expressed here is precisely why I not only make videos, but why I undertake any project. From the bottom of my heart: thank you
At first, I was a little baffled. This is a very sunny song for a series (and universe) that hasn't been the slightest bit sunny since 1982. But you're right - it does align very well with the idea of sentient Programs with their own world, their own society and (screw you, Flynn) free will. It works particularly well with Uprising because Beck refuses to despair and refuses to lower his own ethical standards, even with Tesler breathing down his neck, Tron a homicidal mess, and the local deity has buggered off to the Outlands to pout.
Something I wanted to capture in this video was the blending of the warmth of humanity with cool technology. Self Machine sounds like an upbeat, summery song, but is filled with discussions of pixels, gas, and robots. Similarly, Beck's world is cold and blue, the people are stylized with sharp edges and limbs... but beyond that, they are all motivated by understandable human desires such as friendship and love.
Thank you very much! I'll admit that I had picked "Self Machine" as a song choice for this video early in Tron Uprising's running. As the show got darker and more violent, I worried that this audio might be too up-beat/positive. But then I reconsidered and realized that ultimately Tron Uprising is a show about hope, love, and perseverance in-spite of living in a dark, scary world. So I kept "Self Machine" and I think it really paid off. Thanks again for the comment.
Supposedly it was too expensive. The mouse doesn’t want a cult following of 10ppl. The mouse is specifically designed to package your childhood, and sell it back to you with interest.
I feel that this video captures the spirit behind Tron: Uprising very well! Your combination and blended transitions of scenes carries excellent nuance for anyone who knows the events and parallels. Given the seriousness of Uprising, the energy in your choice of music is both refreshing, and reflective of the enjoyment and memories I have of this show! It also carries a truth as to the Programs themselves, and I like that. Thank you very much for your contribution and hard work, Draqua.
i absolutely adore this video. i love how despite the happy sound of the song it fits everything you show, and the editing is fantastic. i fell in love with with show 3 years after it was cancelled and it will forever leave a hole in my heart, but its great to find such great fan content for it even after all this time. thank you for making this, and a fantastic job!
Tron: Uprising is not officially cancelled, though it is in a strange state of silence from Disney. What is vital about that is that we must let Disney know in any way we can that we love this series! By and far, I don't care for anything Disney, but Tron tilts the scales! Twitter, Facebook, even direct, actual mail. Let them know! It's each and every voice that counts. Tron Lives!
First off, let me just say that I'm so happy you've been enjoying my work. It's statements like this which make video making a rewarding hobby. Secondly, I agree with your desire for more Tron and I must apologize. I made a conscious choice here in "Self Made Program" to focus mostly on Beck, Paige, and the overall plot of the show. The sacrifice of this being that a heavy focus on specific characters. For example, to this day, I wish I could have put more Able in this.
My morning ritual has become a cup of tea, breakfast, and ... This. Immediate opening to a good and productive day. I just love the tune and it's feeling, along with the colorful, bold imagery of Tron: Uprising. The only downside is that it could use more of Tron himself. Otherwise, as I've mentioned before, an excellent work reflecting some of the many significant moments to be found in Tron: Uprising! Thanks again, Draqua. I thought I would share the good humor. =)
I'm a huge fan of your editing and I love what you've done with this one. The way you juxtapose scenes together is absolutely perfect. Thank you for this!
Furthermore, given the song's upbeat tempo/lyrics, I found that many of Tron's best scenes and general character aura did not fit well. After all, the appeal of Tron in this show has a lot to do with the extreme events he finds himself caught up in, or the dark things he's willing to do. I hope that in the future I can make further Tron Uprising CMVs which feature more of our favorite scar-faced hero. Thank you very much once again
Sign the petition! I know it may seem hopeless but we can at least try

I can't believe this was cancelled. I guess it was just too cool for Disney channel :/

This whole AMV gives me chills, the lyrics are so perfect for the series and you cut it together so well! Thank you for making this!

i still think about this video often. it's still SO good, and such a fantastic tribute to a show that deserved so much more
Thank you so much. I agree, Tron Uprising deserved more!
I think I was just convinced I need to go watch this show in the span of three minutes and thirty-three seconds. :D

The second I heard this song, particularly the "lonely robot" bits in the lyrics, I knew this HAD to go with Tron Uprising.
