  • In this episode we take a look at 2 identical pontoon boats. One was used in salt water and the other fresh water so we can clearly see all of the corrosion. Then, we take a look at a 1995 Grady-White 24ft, and finally a trip to Tarpon Springs!

Chris, GREAT video. I've never seensuch a direct comparison on salt water's (amazingly swift) impact. It left me wondering what wood flooring I saw that is also used to manufacture these boats. I truly admire the effort you have put into your GW 20. It really isn't about the size when it comes to measuring 'satisfaction'. I'm hoping to get aboard my own post-sale Cutwater 24 in about a month. Meantime, those ending scenes were a nice substitute. Thanks!

Thanks Jack! Very excited for you and your Cutwater, that is definitely a dream boat! That Cutwater and the Beneteau Antares 8 are top of my wish list. Yes, the salt does some amazing damage on these boats that are not designed for it. That is Marine grade plywood for the decks and it actually holds up surprisingly well. Being that there is air above and below the plywood it typically dries out well on those pontoon boats. The welds holding it to the toons is another story

@@floridaboatguy To be honest, I knew almost nothing about the Cutwater models. Recently was invited aboard one due to kindness of the owners and Bam! both Patricia and I were amazed. A short but not small boat with a tiny but very spacious pilothouse and a modest but lounging capable cockpit. Who knew?! Hoping to bring it home from Jax to SW FL on her own bottom.

@@jacktyler7599 I have been following the Cutwaters for some time, believe they are the same company as Ranger tugs? What a great package very excited (and jealous) for you!
