Let's see. False accusations of lacrosse players, false accusations of volleyball player, and now this. This must be a component of student orientation at Duke....

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Doesn't mean she's lying but, it would cause me to not make a knee jerk decision or reaction. But then there's the email and the situation when he was with the Sixers. So it relatively shows a pattern.

Because the N word is never used anymore. I coached HS football at a predominantly black HS, and it was literally used among the kids every third word of a sentence.

Most races use the word but maybe wouldn’t direct it towards a black person. Look at the Hispanic community they say it all the time

I hate when these people wait until the person is about to get a great oppotunity to suddenly care about making allegations
Yeah. If they were so "hurt" by the word or deed, why didn't they say something years ago? And even if you were afraid to speak up years ago, there needs to be a statute of limitations on making allegations of any kind including sexual assault. With exceptions for particularly egregious or heinous actions, there needs to be a time limit on making allegations/charges. After a certain period of time, you need to call a shrink not a lawyer.
I'm not necessarily in favor of the woman on this but JJ was a professional basketball for some years both him and this women are the same age group as me and even though she's coming out of nowhere with this claim I suppose he's been famous to some extent for quite some time I mean I think he probably made more money per year at certain points in his career as a basketball player than what he's getting from the Lakers as a head coach. Don't get me wrong he probably is being used for 15 minutes of fame but it's not like this is the highest position that he ever had in his life it's just the highest leadership position that he's ever had in his life.
J.J was the most hated college basketball player since Christian Laettner.

@@stevengrvp I didn't say it definitely happened, but you're making it like she went on a media campaign about it. She just made a tweet because she's a Laker fan and moved on. For all we know she probably did mention it before but it never got picked up.
Personally, I think it's true due to other incidents, like when he was recorded calling Chinese people ch!nks on tape. I don't think he intended to say it then but it slipped out because he's probably been using the word in private. There's even another allegation by a woman he "dated" before. She alleged his brother called her a "stupid n!gger" and JJ called her a "stupid sp!c". This was in 2007.
What if he did? That word doesn’t have the same impact as it used to. Every rap song says it.

Say it at work, say it out in the streets, say it out loud in Wal-Mart. Then tell me if it's relevant. Women call each other the B word all the time, but if I'm responsible enough to know if I call her that it's something different.

It's weird how hysterical people can get over name-calling. Anyone would think JJ was guilty of overseeing gas chambers in Nazi Germany the way some people are carrying on about this. It's rude behavior. We don't condone it. But in the real world, we've all been called names before & we've all been name-called in some way or another. It can't be a coincidence these accusations are surfacing upon JJ's hiring as the Lakers coach. It does seem coordinated. JJ's been in the public eye for decades. Only now these past accusations are surfacing. We'll have to wait & see if the story gains enough steam to lead to JJ's firing. Peace.

Ironically, Reddick put himself in a different category of male by dropping those gratuitous f-bombs at a prestigious event, essentially making her accusation slightly more palpable. If he would've been starched, pressed, and proper for the occasion, I would be more inclined to dismiss her out of hand.

I grew up in Clearfield Pa. Growing up, I heard that word constenly , in school, walking along the street. It's always the ones you don't secpect.
So this happened at least 20 years ago,JJ Reddick has been a semi famous athlete basically that whole time and that woman never said anything until now..... something is definitely off about her claim and the timing is definitely off.
Maybe she is friends with Kavanaugh's accuser who it turns out fabricated the whole story. JJ is a guy who played ball in a league where 75-80% of the players are African American and he has never been accused of this except for supposedly 20 years ago at Duke. How come she never came forward before? He's been in the spotlight for over 20 years now

There's a difference between calling someone a liar and saying you don't have to believe them if they have no proof. The reason why that coach thought it was ok to say the N word to you in conversation about another black man was because the personality and thoughts you may have shared with him or other people you mutually know made him feel comfortable enough to say that word to you. He thought it was cool because you're not one of us in his eyes to a certain extent. You're not black you're OJ so to speak. He wouldn't have said that to a Doc Rivers, or a Herm Edwards, not even SAS.
