Rushed to a hospital 2 hours away? He must've not been hurt that bad or they were transporting him in a very well equipped ambulance.
It's a small town. They probably chose that town because they knew he couldn't get to a hospital in time. Doesn't matter if he had an ambulance or not, they're not equipped to do anything but try to keep you alive until you teach a hospital. And I'm betting most leaders aren't followed by an ambulance like ours. That started after Reagan was shot, though could've been after JFK but I don't think so.
@Mikehoncho1050funny you mention him. He was actually transferred to the Roosevelt Hospital in Banská Bystrica. The video info is wrong, he was transfered there by helicopter after being treated in the local ER and was not sent 2 hours away into the capital city Bratislava.

Wrong information about the hospital. He was not transferred to a hospital in the capital city, two hours away. He was taken to a local hospital for urgent care, then transferred to a larger regional hospital in Banská Bystrica by helicopter.

there could be many possible motives. for example he is part of an organized crime group which could be a motive. he could also have been targeted for his political position. also maniacs are known to shoot famous people, so unless we know more about the suspect it would just be stupid to jump to conclusions.
I mean, reporting breaking news means that information can't be verified in time for the initial report to be released. Sometimes, "guy gets shot" is all that can be said, despite a potential motivation being known. I think it's a good thing, I don't want breaking news to be half guesswork based on rumors. It sometimes already feels that way.

English has different words for species of birds and dogs to specify within a general concept, likewise republic describing a democratic setup where people vote for representatives rather than directly on policy (i.e. a direct democracy which literally nobody is claiming we are). That said, we still do that too on a local and state basis rather than federal, hence ballot initiatives, so your point is moot. When someone submits fake electors to overturn the legal majority of votes in a given state, that by definition is an attack on the democratic process. People get up in arms because the word democracy kind of sounds like "democrat" and that's scary for some reason.

I assume you're not a politician. You are still safer walking down the street in Slovakia or any other Central European country, than in most Western European countries.
Also, unless you're a "party girl" don't visit Bratislava if you want some genuine experience. It's massively overpriced and you'll get ripped off everywhere. Go to the east of Slovakia which has by far the most beautiful nature and sceneries. High Tatras are overpriced too, but everywhere else is quite cheap. You can land in Poprad airport and then go further to the east, or you can land in Kosice airport and go to the north/west. Kosice is the 2nd largest city of Slovakia. You can find a hotel in Presov (3rd largest city) which is situated right in the middle of Eastern Slovakia, so you don't need to travel too far in any direction. You can visit nice historical towns of Bardejov, Levoca, you can visit Spissky Castle (largest in Central Europe), any many other places. I can give you a few more tips if you wish.
