Nothing revolutionary about it.. Composite Fan blades have been in use over 30 years, same as geared turbofans, Garrett has used that technology since the early 70's..!!!
@@edwardwilcox6606 no offense, but are you high... The problem is far from over. Just ask Air Tanzania, and Air New Zealand how their replacement engines are coming along..7 months and counting for Air Tanzania, and still waiting for replacement Trent engines for their 787's . Add to the fact Air New Zealand had to cancel their Auckland-Chicago route due to inefficiency issues with the Trent 1000. Evidently they've had enough of Rolls Royce, all future 787's will be GE powered!! Other customers making the switch are ANA, LAN Airlines, and Thai Airways as well all switching to GE engines on their future dreamliner fleet.. You say all is well with that engine. Please, would you just do more research, instead of spewing out rubbish in your comments..
To fit a Ultrafan on a A350 will require redesign of the undercarriage. The fan is 22 inches more that the Trent XWB. That is half a metre. It is however only 6 inches more than GE engines on the 777X. Airbus will be mindful of the aerodynamic problems with the 737Max when Boeing tried to shoehorn a larger diameter engine under the wing of plane not designed for it. An Ultrafan A350 will be as different from the A350 as the 777X is from the classic 777.
This new massive engines of AIRBUS A350 will change industry for the future. If it is can for Garuda Indonesia will change the BOEING 777 and turn to AIRBUS A350 for replacement.
The name speaks for itself after all. Whether it’s new engines for the B52 or the Rolls-Royce LiftSystem, together with the F135 engine, an aircraft propulsion system designed for use in the STOVL variant of the F-35, an inspiring manufacturer!
My fav engine is the GE90-115b. Listening to them at startup, and then listening to them spool up at takeoff, there's nothing out there that even comes close. I'm on your side, I need more jet noise too.!
No new technology here, GE have a composite fan and Pratt and Whitney have geared fan both in service now. RR have put the 2 together. Why hasn't GE or P&W? No manufacturer has or is planning a new aircraft.
RR are not bothered about new aircraft. They are building scaled models of that Ultrafan to offer as a 3rd option on the A320neo series. There's a 12 year backlog for those planes.

Well the A380-1000 has now an engine for the future
Thought the T1000 was supposed to be a game changer...
Still waiting for that to happen...
Get your house in order first rolls !!!
Sorted four years ago & being bought since then by many airlines.....you need to let go.

@@Charles-sn7zy Parts shortages which are affecting all the engine manufacterers...offence taken.

nice thanks for sharing
that 6'' is quite a lot in circumference and sheer bulk........... but the engine is slightly less powerful, not sure what this means
The gear box is another moving component that can break
Having a gearbox could lead to reliability issues. And maintaince costs and additional points to check .I hope there are no issues
Impressive to see Rolls-Royce pioneering with 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel compatibility in the Ultrafan.
Totally agree with you man
The Ultrafan's carbon composite propellers and variable pitch fan system show incredible engineering.
I love your cmt girl
Realy, an intricate mechanical system for this controle is awsome

Reducing nitrogen oxide emissions by 40% is crucial for cleaner skies. Ultrafan sets a new standard.
Yeah, we need to protect the environment
Stop click baiting the A350 is not using this engine.

Hmm I wonder if two of these would power an A380?
i doubt it
i hope emirates will now buy the a350-1000

The Ultrafan engine's 25% fuel efficiency improvement is a game-changer for sustainability in aviation.
Yes, exactly what you said man
What does this video have to do with an Airbus A350? Absolutely nothing. The title of this video is absolutely misleading.
That is a claim prove it! GTF engine is patentedby Pratt and Whitney, did RR obtain also patent for GTF engine?
P&W didn't invent the GTF. Lycoming/Honeywell had successfully built a series of GTF three decades before P&W.
