Not in my opinion, i dont even play the game but i feel like these ultra realistic mods are very gimmicky; makes the game lose its charm. Plus i i think real trees next to sand blocks just looks dumb.
I only find it jarring when the mobs show up lol. And when you see the player avatar. I actually quite like the cubic realism. But the mobs ruin it for me.

Agreed but all I ever see with these mods are very tiny worlds for demonstration. I've not seen a single let's play channel playing Minecraft with these mods on and that is what disappoints me. I don't want to see demonstrations all the time, at least put them into proper use. Computers nowadays are more than capable of running these mods (as long they have RTX). No disrespect to people showcasing mods in these manners, just I like to see a full playthrough of the game using these mods.

@@whitehorsemilitia it happens that those ray tracing mods have no support for "RTX" hardware. The ray tracing horsepower thats available on new graphics cards cant even actually be put to use and instead its run in software on normal gpu cores. So its alot harder to get this sort of thing running consistently on that kind of scale. This is coming from somebody who has an RTX gpu and has tried some of these ray tracing shaders. They are hardly playable and even the beta RTX demo worlds on bedrock edition that actually leverage the RTX cores still can sometimes struggle a bit. It is still really interesting and very pretty and if u can u should definitely go and play around with it yourself.

Zftenss -27182287 If you spawn in the taiga biome, you did it right. Keep going forward to a taiga village. If you see it, go into the plains til you see a pillager outpost. Pass the outpost, should be a big mountain and that is where you’re looking for. If there is a big desert ravine watch your step and also the big monster ravine over there near a roofed forest. Near that is the end portal pass the desert near a village in the plains. It is on top of a sunflower. You’ll know where your going because there should be a mountain near it. The ravine has several diamonds and lots of gold. Perfect for mining. The desert has tons of villages, ravines, desert temples, and wells. The ocean is hella far but contains a lot of underwater cities and ships. The savanna also has lots of villages. Near the mountain is a free nether portal. The mountain is a perfect place for a house but there is some problems though. Watch your step and beware of cave sounds. That’s it. I advise to put a fence also. I learned that the hard way. Anyway have a nice day.

-Cryptic- I mean, you “may be able run” it with out your pc saying “adios” if you have a hydrogen reactor cooler handy (like some people), you’ll just need to sacrifice your entire neighbourhood as in space. Then you can play on idk like 0.25 frame per hour. It’s just a frame every 4 hours It can’t be that bad. As beautiful as these textures are, changing them to these photorealistic images wrapped around a bunch of massive cubes just makes the game look like a cheap knock off imo. They look fantastic when close up, but playing the game normally, the detail gets lost.

Obi-Wan Kenobi don’t worry, the ability to simulate reality on a graphics card is still in its infancy. We can only simulate a few physical processes with fairly low resolution but simulating light has a big bang for the buck value. Imagine simulating the motion of all the leaves on all the trees in a forest individually with fluid simulation of the wind and leaves bending and swaying based on real time simulation. What we have will look quaint in a couple of decades.
I appreciate you showing gameplay as well! It's helped me realise that although the stills look absolutely amazing, I think for gameplay (if I had RTX), I would prefer vanilla textures, with some bumpiness added to them. Comparing the gameplay here to Nerdcubed's RTX Buildy Thing, in my opinion the default Minecraft textures suit much better with RTX because they don't try to stray away from, and are committed to, the blocky game that Minecraft is, ironically in a way making them seem more real. Not to say that people shouldn't use realistic textures like this, and not to say that they can't look amazing - this is just my personal opinion. :)

@@uf3732 Was gonna say that. Something is off with the movement. The capture was done at a really low FPS then sped up. Used to be a popular thing to do back in the day when people were playing with in game physics from Halflife 2 and Crysis.

As beautiful as these textures are, changing them to these photorealistic images wrapped around a bunch of massive cubes just makes the game look like a cheap knock off imo. They look fantastic when close up, but playing the game normally, the detail gets lost.

We can only simulate a few physical processes with fairly low resolution but simulating light has a big bang for the buck value. Imagine simulating the motion of all the leaves on all the trees in a forest individually with fluid simulation of the wind and leaves bending and swaying based on real time simulation. What we have will look quaint in a couple of decades.

I appreciate you showing gameplay as well! It's helped me realise that although the stills look absolutely amazing, I think for gameplay (if I had RTX), I would prefer vanilla textures, with some bumpiness added to them. Comparing the gameplay here to Nerdcubed's RTX Buildy Thing, in my opinion the default Minecraft textures suit much better with RTX because they don't try to stray away from, and are committed to, the blocky game that Minecraft is, ironically in a way making them seem more real. Not to say that people shouldn't use realistic textures like this, and not to say that they can't look amazing - this is just my personal opinion. :)

they're just shaders, I'd probably take them off If I wanted to play an actual survival. My computer easily cant run this and I just stick with BSL Shaders
