Perhaps it would be a good idea to run Tommy’s side by side so we can actually see the difference after 1, 3, 6 and 12 months.

Both were good at looks. No need to compare it except the price wise. Usually Balaz plants heavily which is missing in this scape. Satisfying results from both ends.

I honestly think that Tommy's scape looks more natural, like a part of the jungle.
And it has so many eye catching spots! I could almost imagine myself being a tiny person going up that mountain.
As much as I like the technicality of Balazs tank, I'd have to say Tommy's layout is pretty awesome for a low budget tank. Most probably due to the colorr contrast, the green really pops in Tommy's tank.
Either way, great job guys, always providing us with good contents.

@@GreenAquaShop By the way, I just noticed something, Tommy mentioned "A good indication of not having enough nutrients through the root is if you have any stem plants, and you see some roots starting to grow on the stem itself, that usually means that the plant can’t take up enough nutrients from the soil and it wants to take up more from the water itself"
Is that true? Is that the reason you see a lot of roots coming out of most type of Rotalas' stem?

I hope tommy's tank get updates also. So budget focused aquascapers (most of us, i think) will learn on how to deal from algae explosion from moss balls. Balaz's tank look like a mini version of his brazilian tank.

Both are nice, the if tommy adds some epiphyte like anubias to that stump of wood on extreme left, it’ll look like a good mountain forest thing, the moss carpet colour is like that mountain grass which grows on slope and the rocks also look like from mountain. Add the epiphyte to make treee and it will look like a hill top

Yup looked good and the less intense light added a bit more drama to the layout as well.
To be honest I think that the vinyl decides the winner here, if the white background was on the other tank I think it would really pop and probably change a lot of opinions!

I like shots of Tommy's hands flopping 5 times to the beat... just wondering if the Moss ball carpet will flow after filling the tank and how it will grow after a few months?
You can squeeze in the moss between the glass and the decor, but if this floats up simply use some gel super glue to fit it in position. Cladophora grows really slowly

@@GreenAquaShop Just consider the series Chef's Table. It's about creativity and phylosophy of great chefs. Actually this is what you bring about in your channel. A "little" more job for sure, but aquascaping creativity should get out for the big public. There are a lot of nice tanks in your videos, but if only for that I wouldn't watch them. You are presenting mastery, creativity and spirit in a very appealing way. That's the important thing. Have a look at the mentioned series if you haven't. I guess youll se the connection very quickly. Anyhow, thanks for sharing these videos!

interesting about the part where tommy says if you leave the power sand out of the soil, you are going to get algae. And also that the stem plants will grow roots in the stems if it doesnt get enough nutrients from the soil. I use ADA soil and power sand. And im seeing roots coming out of the stems from week 2 onwards....i cant figure out why

I agree Balazs tank is definitely nicer but Tommy did do a great job with what he had. And quick question does green aqua have any 90 p tanks?
Currently, we do not have 90P in the showroom. Had in the old one, but here we went for 120P on almost all tank size. Better ratio, more useful for contest aquascaping because of the landscape shape

Did you end up using the surface skimmers bought in the previous episode? Whenever I try to use that or any kind of surface intake, my pH goes up and stays above 7.4 consistently. Assuming it is due to increased water movement removing CO2 from the tank. But then again, everybody seems to use such skimmers. What can I be doing wrong? Greetings from Brazil, big fan of the channel!

They both look great but I like the stones Tommy used more 🤣 Also just an idea but Jurijs has been doing live streams lately and they are great! Maybe he could do a live stream scape on his channel in green aqua since it’s been a long time since he did a scape there?! Just a thought 😁 love your channel and look forward to the next video!
Dear Darren, thanks for your words and suggestion. Actually not sure you know that, but the channel started as a full live channel a few years ago. We've had many issues even with the pro equipment and in the end, we decided to stop the livestreams altogether. Sound delays, interrupted connection, degrading quality, software and encoding ap freezing, restarts on stream etc. Live gears and software improved a lot in the last 3 years, but some of these issues still exist and you need to work with them. Around this time the production quality is a priority at Green Aqua, but we're investigating the options to do some streams in the future not in a prime time tho. In the meantime, we do some ad-hoc Instagram live streams from the showroom. Reminds me I need to do another one next week :) - Viktor

Imo tommy's has much more depth with satisfying proportions. I also think the textures and colours are nicer and more varied? Balazs kinda looks like a wall of stuff, especially with the 'horizon' being almost straight apart from that one rock curves in the wrong direction. The colours don't vibe as well? especially against the white background. would have voted tommy myself

If Tommy would use Eleocharis parvula in foreground it will be tough competition
Parvula has only a small chance to survive without CO2.
Conclusion: they both spent on things they didn't need, no one clearly explained what they did and why, neither of them did anything particularly surprising, but it was fun.
The video is too short to turn to all the details in an educational and entertaining way. But the channel is full of similar videos and I am sure you will find the answers in them. Thanks for your feedback 👍
