I come back to this every so often . . . props to everyone involved.
Every few months or so ill randomly get a nightmare about this situation. Every time i do, this short's soundtrack always accompanies it, and i find myself running with the same blaring sirens echoing in my mind.
I dont know what it is about this short's soundtrack that just unsettles me so much, but if it's able to become the OST of my literal nightmares, it has done its job tenfold.

The creepiest part about this and others like it is the fact that it makes no sense. It shouldn’t be happening but it is, and this adds to the confusion of whether you should fight or flee. For years and years since I was a kid, every Sunday evening at 6:40 pm I would suddenly feel a sense of doom with extreme anxiety and panicked paranoia with a feeling like I was both everywhere and nowhere. I got to where I’d deliberately force myself to be asleep during that hour. Never did figure it out and watching this brought back those incidents even though I haven’t had this issue in over a decade now.
Sounds like to me you either had a spirit/haunting attached to where you lived and, or you yourself

there was some demonic elements at play; especially with the specific reoccurring time/internal emotions.
Wonderfully unsettling, otherworldly and nerve-jangling stuff ! Great, no reliance on the mainstays of horror, just a creepy narrative, both actors very good, to fit this in such a short running time and have that kind of impact in just brilliant ! Keep making films !!!

This is one of my favourite short horror films! I love it! I find it more funny than creepy, but I cant tell if its the smiling man himself that makes me laugh or the absolute weirdness of it all! I swear this is based off a creepypasta too

The part that makes this scary for me is the fact that the smiling man never directly looks at the main character until the end either. He stares at something vaguely above him. For the entire video, you’re waiting for him to lock eyes with the MC or even us (the audience), but his face is just tilted slightly out of reach. It adds to the horror aspect, since a lot of the time, the “monster” in these horror stories usually stares directly at the viewer to make *us* feel like we’re in a helpless situation with the MC. But in this, we kind of want the smiling man to just look at us so we can see some form of humanity within him. But the moment he does, you can’t make out any details on his face because it’s shielded by that manic smile and the lighting. It gives you more of the illusion that the smiling man isn’t a “man”, and more of just a thing that’s pretending to be a man but doesn’t look quite right.

In the original story, it's just a man who is quote "completely insane." Everything about this video is accurate, up to the running. After that, the protagonist got away. There was no jump scare at the end where the guy popped up out of nowhere.
It was a true story of a bizarre and creepy encounter late at night, but the story ended there - after the chase. I think this rendition is really well done, but personally I hate jump scares. They're so overdone, it's not scary for me and just made it seem predictable. Idk.

Normally you would laugh at that kind of cartoonish sneaking. But when you're alone in the night on an empty street and followed by a weird smiling man looking up in the sky, it suddenly becomes very scary. Especially since it resembles a zombie walking.
