the fear strategy:
It wasn’t hard for me, I used an Incineroar and it used Darkest Lariat twice, my incineroar did not faint.
The music composer has really knocked it out of the park for Necrozma's events. His entrance, his fight against Lunala/Solgaleo, even both of his battle themes give a sense of terror and urgency, as if you should know how much trouble this Pokemon means. What amazing build up!
Of coerce he is the god of chaos and darkness in the Pokémon universe.

I like how it refers to it as "the wild Necrozma" in your last battle. It's not the destroyer of worlds it was in your previous fights, it's weak and helpless now; it's just another wild Pokemon for you to catch. That's also why it has a guaranteed catch rate: it knows it can't beat you or escape from you, so it doesn't bother resisting.
It lost at full power, how could it win the fight while in its black hole form?
it’s barley even alive now the only reason it can fight is because you shared some of your Z rings light with it if it weren’t for that necrozma would’ve died

Game Freak is going pretty extravagant with their final bosses. I hope this trend continues to Gen 8, or the Gen 4 remake. Coz if we don't get a true Arceus fight as good as Ultra Necrozma, I'll be angry.
memphis_ I don't want another fight as bullshit as Ultra Necrozma EVER AGAIN, the fight is shit and expects too much from the player (how the fuck am I supposed to know that I'll be facing a level 60 just after fighting a level 50 and not face another level 60 until the final battle of the main game), this fight may have great buildup and music but none of that masks how shit the actual fight is.
Unless they make that fight actually fair I'll be pissed of that they copied one of the WORST parts of US/UM into the next games.
You DO realise you'd run into curbstomps like these ALL THE TIME in normal RPGs? The whole role of the fight is to give a rewarding feeling of perseverance when you win. You actually BOTHER to level grind your team, you'll win a lot easier. I recommend not playing RPGs in general if you get salty over one purposely difficult boss.

The way that the organ is perfectly timed for when dawn wing Necrozmas cry plays is incredible, and then when the Ultra Necrozma theme starts becoming more intense it’s aura flares up, it’s just incredible.
i also like that if you don't hesistate to attack ultra necrozma, the beat drop in ultra necrozma's theme happens as he attacks.

This is logic, Neci was very weaked after the fight in his (true) Ultra-form (maybe this wasnt't even his final form! ;-)) and he even needs your light to could even fight!

The greatest thing about this basted is he has coverage for a good majority of the alola dex if not all of it with his moves.

Actually, it's entire type spread is resisted by Steel. The trouble is, your options for Steel types in Alola are:
-Magnezone, who can't put up all that great a return offense with its STABs
-Alolan Dugtrio, which is just as hilariously frail as it's Kanto counterpart with 30/60/70 bulk
-Bastiodon, whose rock typing renders Smart Strike neutral and suffers even worse than Magnezone from the "absolute pittance of return offense" issue
-Probopass, which is just a slightly less defensively minmaxed Bastiodon,
-Forretress, which is neutral to Power Gem and has 75/60 special bulk
-Skarmory, who is in the same boat as Forretress but with 65/70 special bulk and worse return offense stats
-Metagross, which can actually take Neccy in a straight fight but has a catch rate of an older-Gen legendary Pokémon (3/255) and is only available in the stage that knows Take Down and nothing else
-Togedemaru, which is just a worse physical Magnezone
-Klefki, which is neutral to Smart Strike but can at least try to pull a fast one with Prankster
-Alolan Sandslash, slow, neutral to Power Gem with 75/65 special bulk
-Bisharp, one of the few good options with a potent Sucker Punch that won't fail and being immune to Photon Geyser, but it's special bulk still kind of sucks
-Scizor is not obtainable until postgame
-Neither is Lucario but it's still neutral to and thus food for Photon Geyser anyway
-Celesteela is neutral to power gem but has solid special bulk and half decent offenses...but is exclusive to Ultra Moon
-Kartana can't take a hit from a wet paper bag
-Stakataka is postgame only AND UM only anyway
-Does the QR code thing actually give you Magearna in Ultra? Either way, it's neutral to Smart Strike but no-sells Dragon Pulse, so it could partner with Bisharp to drain Neccy's STAB PP I guess? Though given it's an event Pokemon you might have obedience to contend with.
Literally less than half of the Pokémon with the objectively best type to face this boss with are actually all that useful in a straight fight with the fucker, and of those, maybe one or two can actually _win_ that fight. And of _those,_ one is an event Pokemon who might not obey you if you level it above Neccy and the other has the lowest catch rate in the game.

Ultra Necrozma absolutely messed me up. Photon Geyser one shot everything not called Zoroark, the only way I was able to win was by using Charm on it with my Mimikyu and constantly using Revives on my Primarina to use Moon Blast.

I wanna get Ultra Moon JUST for Necrozma. Everything about this pokémon is so damn well executed that I honestly think it's the coolest legendary pokémon has ever had.

It's dying. You effectively save its life by giving it the light from your Z-ring, and then with its newfound strength, it decides to challenge you for the right to be its partner. Tragic, isn't it?

Your battle against Ultra Necrozma was a perfect example of how a battle with Ultra Necrozma should go; a full team effort involving a Z Move, Pokemon occasionally living and avoiding attacks when you needed it most, and in the end a close victory. This video deserves a Like.
For me, Ultra Necrozma wiped me out like 3 times, and then my Golem was taking all the hits, so I had to keep on using full restores and hyper potions to survive until it ran out of moves, and then finished it off with Continental Crush.
mine was getting sweeped constantly I could only beat it by using my sturdy skarmory and even than when I ran out of revives and let him sweep necrozma I only one because my incineroar toughted it out and killing necrozma with a darkest lariat so yeah you really need strategy to beat him

it has Smart Strike to hit them pesky fairies (or Sunsteel Strike if you fused it with Solgaleo after you got it) plus Neuro Force which boost Super Effective attacks by 20%
To me, i think necrozma should not be fought with fairies since he can counter some of them. However necrozma is weak against dark, bug, ghost and ice which can be used to your advantage

The most epic thing happened to me when i was fighting UN (Ultra Necrozma). He had OHKO'd my entire team, then i realized i had traded a pokemon for solgaleo (I was on UM btw). When i came back, the lvl 65 Solgaleo had taken it out by itself, as its way of showing vengance for taking advantage of another legendary pokemon.

Suggestions for your team:
Mimikyu with toxic (Its ability is disguise and starts the battle as a decoy)
Zoroark (it’s illusion ability disguised as any non dark type Pokémon weak to phantom geyser like a machoke) and uses dark type moves
Metagross (Mystic Umbreon mentions to have one as a teammate) (it’s psychic/steel type resist all Necrozma’s attacks) with Toxic
Bisharp (it’s dark/steel type resists all Necrozma’s attacks and phantom geyser doesn’t affect Bisharp) with toxic
Any steel type with toxic that resists all Necrozma’s attacks
A Pokémon holding a focus sash with endeavor and quick attack like an Alolan Rattata or Raticate
A Pokémon with Sturdy ability and toxic
A Pokémon with rough skin or iron barbs to take damage on Necrozma
You need all 6 strong Pokémon in your party
You need lots of strong potions and revives
Toxic is located in the south deck of the Ather Paradise
The focus sash is located in the Poni wilds
Necrozma is level 60 with its moves Dragon Pulse, Phantom Geyser, Smart Strike and Power Gem and raises all stats
Or you can be lazy and fill your team with only mimikyus like i did and then get a bunch of revives
I feel bad for anyone who used their master ball on the final battle
Ultra Necrozma was a really easy fight. I trolled it by using a Zoroark disguised as a Crabrawler, so it thought Photon Geyser would be super-effective and kept spamming it, but it wasn't doing anything. I killed him with 3 punishments X,D

it actually wasn't hard at all for me, and i made a fair and fun battle. i think my pokemon were over leveled though, because my strongest was a level 59 at the ultra necrozma fight.
Gabriel Girão well some of us didn’t have Zoroaks! Some had Magnezones or other bulky monstrosities with Toxic to stall out Necrozma!
Primarina and Mimikyu worked as well :)

Yes, Necrozma is an Ultra Beast. So is Cosmog, its second evolution (name slips my mind), Solgaleo and Lunaala. They are listed as legendaries for the game, but in terms of lore, they are in fact Ultra Beasts.

Literally with Ultra Necrozma, it was pure luck I was able to beat it first try, and that’s because my last Pokémon was spared from the attack that wiped out my first 5. Then my Decidueye’s z-move took care of it.
It's scary to think that they managed introduce something that's almost an equal measure to Arceus.
