I don’t understand how you don’t get the love you deserve on booktube, I found you through a dark academia video that I searched for, and you came up but I’d never had you suggested by RUclips before (apparently that’s saved for people I have nothing in common with) or heard anyone talk about you :( You deserve more subs, and I will return to this comment soon when that happens 🤍

I loved Magicians. It goes into far more detail about the school than the show did. Best depiction of a magic school I've ever read. It was marketed as Harry Potter for adults when it came out but that is inaccurate.
Just added loads of these to my library wishlist. I love Piranesi, I’ve read it twice and could easily read again. I hope you enjoyed it

I recently read Frankenstein and was surprised by how much I loved it. It is beautifully written and Mary Shelly was only 18 when she wrote it. She was brilliant!

I just finished this one this week and it was excellent.
I'm pretty sure that the Fillory books in "The Magicians" trilogy are based on the Narnia books and not on Potter. (Although the fictional author of the Fillory books is nothing like real life author CS Lewis.)
I don’t know what it’s supposed to be based on, but now that you say Narnia, that makes so much sense!!
@@justlanchen There's a location later in the first book, which crops up again in the other books, where Grossman apparently wanted to use The Wood Between the Worlds from Lewis' "The Magician's Nephew", but wasn't allowed to by Lewis' estate.
