I had an imaginary friend or character named Lance as a kid, he was/is like my own hero that i watch in my head, he'd help me escape my unpleasant childhood and I'd spend time in his world, watching him solve much bigger problems and fight monsters. Guess it made my own problems seem more doable, if Lance can slay giant snakes and dragons than i can do my chores or something like that.

It's fascinating how imaginary friends like can provide a wonderful escape and source of creativity during childhood. I think when we get older it’s still exists in a different form, almost like an alter ego

I read the complete series of A Good Girls Guide to Murder earlier this year and I 100% understand your feelings about it - As Good as Dead has stuck with me months later and I need everyone to read it so we can all be a little support group over that last book 😭

I stay far away from imaginary-friend horror! I had 2 imaginary friends as a kid (I had a good childhood but just lacked someone to play with), it's been so long that I barely remember them but they were smaller than me and kind of like cute talking pokemon or tom/jerry. As an adult I realized it's the same as an author (or reader) imagining their books' characters and having conversations and interactions with them in their mind.

Mugaline was my imaginary friend and she lived under the kitchen table. I was an only child so when I was quite young we played together a lot.

I am currently binge watching all your book videos this weekend as discovered we have the same tastes (hooray) and love that many books on your lists I have either read or are on my wishlist, and even a couple I currently have out of the library (inc Good Girls Guide to Murder). I love Riley Sager (home before dark and last time I lied are my faves). Trying to hold off any recommendations till I’ve seen all the vids but have you read You Are Invited by Sarah A Denzil?

I don’t know if you would LIKE it (😂😂💁🏼‍♀️) but a creepy adult horror I just read was “The Troop”. It was good and scary- so if you want to be creeped out… 👻

I HIGHLY recommend The Devil Aspect by Craig Russell. It has such a good plot twist and is probably one of the best psychological thrillers I’ve read in a long time!
