I've watched a few of these Hendrix reactions and everyone responds very emotionally. It's visceral! It's obvious Jimi's guitar strings pull hard on the heart strings and this is no accident. This is the mark of a true MUSICIAN and not just a technical magician with a bag of guitar gimmicks. Jimi had it all - the technical chops, the understanding of sound and the technology of his time, the jaw dropping showmanship and the man INVENTED the modern way of playing the electric guitar -which we take for granted now - just so he could have a palette to express his absolutely unique ideas BUT most important and most timeless was his artistry which is evident in the way you FEEL when you hear him play. Jimi isn't just the greatest rock guitarist ever, he is more than that, he is a once in a generation artist and one of the greatest and most important musicians to ever walk the planet.

WOW!! Couldn't agree more!! I cried like a Baby the day Jimi kissed the sky!!
Saw him play 2 shows in Norman Oklahoma.. It was May 8, 1970 at the old Sooner Fieldhouse. His backup Band was Bloodrock!! You know, the guys who did the song DOA....
May have given a clue as to how elderly I am.
I was drafted 4 months later. I soon got a free vacation to S.E. Asia.....

Jimi got his first electric guitar when he was 15 years of age because his family was dirt , dirt poor. but 10 years later at the age of 25 he headlined Monterey Music Festival as well as subsequently headlining the Woodstock before the audience of 250,000 people. Also he served in the Army for two years before being discharged from the Airborne due to medical complications. never could afford guitar lessons but self taught .... talk about being born w/ it. oh btw, before he got his 1st guitar which was a used acoustic one at 11 years of age he used to strum the broom as if that was a guitar so his pops bought him that first acoustic on a lay-away ... unbelievable story!

As much as I mourn the loss of Freddie Mercury, if I could bring back one musician who died too soon, it'd be Jimi Hendrix. If for no other reason than just to see how much he could revolutionize the guitar as an instrument. We already know how much he did in less than 5 years of mainstream success. Imagine what even one more decade could have led to in terms of rock music.

Been a Jimi fan since 1969. You reacted totally authentic, cause you "get it". When you said he transported you, that is the whole point. Jimi was a Magician, not a musician. Very few people get this secret. His mission was to transport people to a higher level of their mind and Soul. This is why he was pure Magic. Very few artists in history were capable of that or even had that Intention. He wore the symbol of the Sun around his neck, cause he is a Shinning One. No one like him, before him or after.
    Thanks for this one.
React to Voodoo Child Slight Return, but only off the Electric Ladyland album audio. Very few have reacted to the Original, which believe me will lift the top of your head off. 😳🤣🤣

Also very rare reactions too are,
    " If 6 was 9 ", on Axis : Bold as Love.
If you react to this one I will tell you the Real story behind the meaning of the song, that only some people of that era understood, cause Jimi was writing in Code. And whoever reads my explanation will be lucky to know.
I'm not blowing my horn, I'm telling Truth.
Next one, the Song representing the Album Axis: Bold as Love, of coarse named Bold as Love. Imo the outro solo is the Greatest guitar solo of our time. It will take you to the Stratosphere, and you won't want to come down.
If you do this one, I'll tell you the secret behind what the album cover is hiding, and it's monumental.🙏💗🌅🌬️ " Fly on Little Wing ", that's another absolute gem you should do, off of Axis Bold as Love, " Little Wing ". Always do the original tracks off the album, not live. Believe me, the albums meant the most to Jimi. Live was for people who were there, because they were Transported👏👏👏✌️

Try these videos on You Tube: Jimi Hendrix, Johnny B Goode, Berkeley. Chuck Berry, who wrote the song, said of Jimi's performance that he quote, 'Played the absolute crap out of the song.' Sure did!! Sort of like a cross between a guitar, a song called Johnny B Goode, an express train going at full tilt, and Hendrix. Too incredible for words. You have to see it to believe that that is possible on a guitar. Then try Jimi Hendrix, Lulu Show, Full Version (Cream tribute). Jimi over ran the TV time slot, and upset Lulu by changing mid Hey Joe to do a tribute to Cream who broke up on that very day. Lulu could not do her customary sing along. That meant that Jimi was never invited back onto the Lulu Show again. Know the song Sunshine of Your Love? Ever heard a guitar sing the words? Well when you watch that you will have! You will have witnessed Jimi actually make a guitar talk!! Plus a little added bonus at the end that is equally incredible to show the full capabilities of not just Jimi, but his support artists, Mitch Mitchell on drums, and Noel Redding on bass in The Jimi Hendrix Experience. They too were superlative artists. I will not spoil it for you. Just watch this. Seeing is believing. Additionally watch any of the Hey Joe renditions by Hendrix on You Tube. You again will be amazed. No spoilers. The greatest guitarist that ever lived? CONFIRMED. I saw Jimi more than once, and at Regents Polytechnic in London when he played in the UK for the first time, jamming with Cream. Up to that point many others thought they were Guitar God. But when Clapton saw Jimi play Howlin' Wolfs Killing Floor, he knew the jig was up. THIS WAS GUITAR GOD HIMSELF. Even Jeff Beck of The Yardbirds was wondering whether he should give it up and become a postman! Yet Jimi was a Clapton disciple, and was not selfish, being prepared to share his gift with others. Jeff said hey, this man is open, I can learn from him, and was well pleased with Jimi not just as an artist, but his entire attitude. Jimi is the real deal. SRV, Page etc? All others are great guitarists, but just his disciples. A lot is made of SRV, but SRV had only just joined a band when Jimi died. Jimi had done everything SRV did a long time before. Jimi is GUITAR GOD!!!! Nobody back then or since his death has been able to touch him musically or creatively. Once you have seen these videos you will begin to understand why old farts like me are so disgruntled with the music of today. With kids walking around with instruments like fashion accessories, and no idea whatsoever how to play them. Strewth! Back then we were surrounded by music like Jimi's constantly, and by artists who knew their instruments and how to play them intimately........The Kinks, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, The Monkeys, The Beatles, Steppenwolf, the whole of Motown etc etc etc. Absolutely surrounded by quality music. Do you blame us for being disgruntled? You wanna know about Jimi Hendrix. Ask!

Way past "expert." The man's guitar was connected directly to his soul.

Yeah that guitar was another limb. Fully connected it and a full extension of himself. I saw that in EVH too.

It’s insane that he was that good and is playing a right handed guitar upside down cause when he began he couldn’t afford a left handed guitar and could only get one for right handers. Would he have been even better with the proper equipment for being left handed? Or does it just add to the crazy things he could make an instrument do that no one else could?

Yeah Jimis version is so much better than Dylans but Im also not a Dylan fan cause he mumbles too much in his songs. He sings like Ozzy talks, a bunch of incoherent gibberish lol. Still waiting on you to hear some Black Sabbath for your next rock video 😁
