i ran R8 with MP9. R8 isn't secondary, it's a primary in secondary slot. it's still fun playing R8, people just doesn't get creative with tools they have.
I remember my friends teaching me this game like a year and a half ago. They always told be the R8 was the worst pistol but I somehow would use it better than the Deagle. They always gave me crap for it too
I have a friend who swears by the R8; he's terrible at CS, but the revolver counter-balances that somehow. I've genuinely never seen him clutch a triple kill without it!
The only people hate it because they dont know how to play with it. Since CS's main gameplay is holding angles everything is used for this and they introduced a gun that is not usable for that because of the delay. It is the exact opposite, for peeking. The running accuracy support this play style and the delayed shooting also only works in this scenario. Standing still and trying to shoot someone is simply not working with it. Its basically a brand new type of gun that people didnt bother to learn because "hurr durr me see pros using deagle me use it too dont care I will miss all my shots and shooting legs".
one thing I always thought would make the r8 more usable is to make the right click prepare/hold the hammer (1s animation) so your next left click will be instant like the scout
@@wibs0n68no you can still do that with double action revolvers. Double action revolvers allow you to pull the hammer back manually in order to get around the heavy trigger pull. This feature is meant to increase accuracy as the heavier trigger pull does affect accuracy somewhat.
I think the more "balanced way" would be to decrease the movement when you cock the hammer back with the right click as a form of preparation for the shot and move fanning the hammer to the left click so it would be a standard firing mode... but then again, I ain't a dev nor I'm that good in CS so I think there will be people explaining why that would be a bad way to balance this gun.
His editing and design (dunno if that's the right word for it) are great. I was watching and thinking "damn the colours are great, I love the contrast" before realising the guy has uploaded the video in HDR lmao Legend.
I myself have started to prefer the R8 over the deagle simply because the deagle diesnt want to hit where I aim. I aim at enemy headshot crouch shoot miss. Enemy runs sprays first bullet hit headshot.
@@davidgreener7419 Exactly, the R8 is a great eco weapon if your team is running P250s or maybe cheap SMGs. You deal the 80 damage to enemies and they finish them off unless you get a headshot. Deagle is inconsistent IMO, it might be my crosshair but sometimes it feels like its just off.

More damage than the deagle but slower action, etcetc. To our surprise, the R8 came out within a month and we felt like psychics after that. Didn't predict it being completely broken though...
when CS2 first dropped I instantly said the r8 is finally good, it was always a pocket scout, but having a pocket scout was never worth giving up the deagle, but with CS2s pick 5 allowing you to choose either or depending on what the round is calling for, the R8 is far from an option you'd want to pick every time, which is why replacing the deagle with it never made sense in CSGO, but I always have it as an option now in my pick 5
There is a real life reason for the delay, besides the in game reason of balance. Revolvers were made before the modern handgun, so the tech is older and the shape is different. Pulling the trigger pulls the hammer back AND once it reaches the “break” releases the hammer to strike the firing pin, causing the bullet to fire. This is called Double Action because the trigger does two things. There are many modern handguns who don’t do that, because of the slide cocks the hammer back or there is no hammer. That’s called striker fired, for example Glocks. The right click is faster because you’re using your hand to slam the hammer back, so the trigger only has to break, releasing the trigger. That’s much faster and lighter. Cowboys do it in movies, it’s called fanning the hammer.
And this begs me a question. How a 357 magnum from the R8 deals more damage than .50 AE. Maybe the magnum has FMJ while the .50 cal pistol only use basic bullets? Idk... And the running accuracy... Perhaps the R8 is more ergonomic in the handle than Deagle. Quite an interesting detail if u ask me...
@@MiekuahProductions 357mag is a very spicy 9mm (can literally fire and chamber a 9mm in a 357mag revolver and fire no problem) speed beats armor 50AE is a VERY fat pistol round that is relatively slow compared to 9mm or 357mag
the penetration of the gun means u can easily wallbang pre and post movement if u keep ur crosshair trained meaning while strafing for cover u can if timed right wallbang people with relative safety, it also means that most forms of cover which are safe from rifle fire but not awp fire are vulnerable to the r8. this lends itself to wall to wall, cover to cover peaking where u have the advantage of being to accureately prefire a shot inbetween when ur leaving cover and when ur fully exposed allowing u to hit them for a low ball 60-30 hp depending on wall, and then a 60-80 damage 0,2 s later, think of it like a lever action rifle and ur play will make alot more sense than a pistol
I know this video is mostly a joke, but one important facet about the R8 is that it seems to penetrate through almost any surface in the game with almost no damage falloff - A headshot through a wall is always a kill, with or without armor. If you managed to headshot a team of 5 who all just happened to be standing in the exact same place, at least 4 would die from the headshot (from what I've been able to test, anyway)
Yeah, it took only 9 years for people to realize how good this weapon is. I've been playing with R8 since release, it was even more accurate for quite some time before the second nerf. I hated Deagle in CSGO for it's inconsistency and bad accuracy(ask NiKo about that), so I've NEVER(I really mean it) touched the Deagle after R8 release, while others were twisting fingers at their temples. You have no idea how many headshot kills I got as T on Mirage's mid with it. Damn it's satisfying to be right in the end, against all odds and everyone's polemics.
This is the game where the SG 553 and AUG sat unchanged for half a decade because “it’s the COD gun” only for Valve’s price drop to show people just how broken they both were for YEARS even at their original prices. When they returned to their original prices, Valve had to nerf their accuracy and rate of fire to bring them into parity.
Make a Negev video, it’s actually pretty good with follow recoil. Obviously it’s bad for pushing, but a tec 9 and a Negev is only $2200. For post plant it’s at the very least a good time waster since you can fire continuously for like 13 seconds.
I've been using r8 since cs2 came out( been using it occasionally in csgo since I can't hit head with deagle), I would say it's actually not that bad if you practice it a bit. It kind of like p90 the higher your rank goes the lower usefulness it gets. But its accuracy got nerf heavily and it's not that accurate like the video describe anymore, it's pretty much like deagle and can't hit things accurately mid to long range without crouch. And I have to say with armor you have to get REALLY close to get a one shot kill, it's like 101 on chest (without drop off) so you pretty much need to crouch at enemy's dxck or xss and point blank at it to get a one shot kill.
For it to 1 shot kill further away than point blank, it needs to penetrate multiple hitboxes which normally does not happen in real games, that's why he mentions 'pelvis area' as there are multiple hitboxes that can overlap in that area, increasing the odds.
@@LAndrewsChannel No, multiple hit from single bullet is NOT a thing in CS. It is becuase different hitboxes different damage multiplier, Hs x4, chest & arm x1, legs x0.75, pelvis & stomach x1.25. So Revolver's base 86dmg is multiplied to 107 at pelvis with 93.2% armor penetration its exactly 100dmg to armored pelvis.

I remember fondly landing an ace clutch with the R8 in the closing months of CSGO. Mind you, it was a 4-ace; their 5th had been kicked for teamkilling. All 4 of my own teammates dead, nothing to be heard in the dead Dust 2 air. Had nothing on me but my trusty sidearm and an outward illusion of infinite confidence. I believe I picked off one trying to find me through B tunnels, and when they planted the bomb at A, I came out on top of the long-range shootout with the 3 of 'em. Defusal was easy, as far as I can remember. Let out a "yee haw" after pulling that one off. God, I miss GO.
I genuinely use the R8, some advice I gave to a friend of mine (who immediately saw results!) don't treat the trigger pull as a wind up to shoot, treat it as though you "missed" an "invisible shot" and are trying to hit the follow up as if you were using an automatic weapon. The R8 wants you to *track* not Flick
Wow, this video is surprisingly... informative. I was expecting your usual entertaining commentary on this gun, as I expected it's still a joke post-2015, but no, there's actually something to it. I arrived in this video around 23 hours after it was first posted, and boy do the top comments reflect the unkind looks on the R8 (though TBF, that is understandable given the history of the gun in-game).
if you can learn the timing the R8 is so good for aggressive pushing its still shit in most cases but being able to move without needing to think of spread is so nice on T
I love r8 idk man the feeling of left clicking before peeking and headshoting a random person justs feels rewarding. my favorite thing to do is left click headshot, if i miss then follow eith right click.
The R8 is really fun/good when you play with friends. Since it leaves enemies at 20 hp after one hit almost every other gun can pick them of after that. We won so many eco rounds with that thing it’s insane. (To be fair though we are talking gold nova level here.)
I think either they should make the right click more accurate, shorten the trigger delay, or give you the option to cock the hammer back with a right click so the first shot is much faster
During that time me and my friends were playing vs team full of cowboys like buffalo bill, butch cassidy, billy the kid etc.. They played exclusively R8 and wiped the floor with us
I almost never play cs, but I once had a 1-2 week time were I played a lot of cs, I started using the r8 for fun and ended up being extremely good with it and with people calling me cheater, really good weapon once you accommodate to its quirks
I've been a fan of the R8 since the beginning. The accuracy is crazy good, making it a much better pistol than the deagle on long distances. The problem with the R8 is that it's situational, but again, so are the Scout and XM, and those are considered good guns. R8 for life.

The R8 is really fun/good when you play with friends. Since it leaves enemies at 20 hp after one hit almost every other gun can pick them of after that. We won so many eco rounds with that thing it’s insane. (To be fair though we are talking gold nova level here.)
I think either they should make the right click more accurate, shorten the trigger delay, or give you the option to cock the hammer back with a right click so the first shot is much faster

I find that aiming at crotch for spamming right click will give you consistent hits at close to medium range
Strafe plus right click makes the R8 deadly accurate btw. Assuming Valve hasn't fixed that
I almost never play cs, but I once had a 1-2 week time were I played a lot of cs, I started using the r8 for fun and ended up being extremely good with it and with people calling me cheater, really good weapon once you accommodate to its quirks

I've been a fan of the R8 since the beginning. The accuracy is crazy good, making it a much better pistol than the deagle on long distances. The problem with the R8 is that it's situational, but again, so are the Scout and XM, and those are considered good guns. R8 for life.
