Somehow the acoustic still wins my heart. Nothing can beat it. Digital will never duplicated a wooden soundboard, with its 3D surround sound. For the purist and the most beautiful, acoustic wins every time. Why do you think the worlds best musicians demand to play on the Steinway at concert halls instead of the best digitals. Because the acoustics is the most beautiful of them all.
Wow, that’s absolutely awesome! Thank you so much for showing what this incredible piano can do, this is where technology really comes into its own and actually enhances the piano’s natural sound
This piano sounds phenomenal it sounds amazing. I absolutely love this sounds to this piano. Yamaha's my favorite company they make good pianos and good keyboards. and you're playing is just awesome I love the way you play.
Curtis alumni are the best... Thank you, Maestro Hugh Sung for the magnificent explanation and demonstration of a true concert artist … I feel a sudden urge to practice now.
Hi, Thank you for this video. Would you please let me know if this piano has disklavier system too? Or can ask to add this system to it? Thank you for your time answeing my question. Best wishes
Hello! I have a question: do the keys feel the same in both modes? I mean, doesn't the plate that prevents the hammers from hitting the strings slightly (but noticeabily to the touch) reduce the distance the hammer moves?
Does the transacoustic hardware effect or dampen the acoustic sound due the hardware that you mentioned transmits the vibrations to the soundboard when you aren't using the transacoustic setting?
Can you please let me know the full name of this model is it GC1 SH2? And the approx. price? There are a few silent pianos by Yamaha. What is the difference between this and GB1KSC2? Thank you
In general, I recommend having pianos tuned 2x a year - spring and winter, as humidity is the main factor affecting the soundboard which affects the tuning. Check this out: www.cunninghampiano.com/how-often-should-i-tune-my-piano-2/
Brilliant concept, bridging the gap between digital and acoustic is becoming more and more a reality. Only one concern, the digital side never needs tuning but the acoustic does, probably twice a year and that's only if you are playing the acoustic on its own. However, if you are blending it with a permanently in tune instrument then there are going to be very subtle differences. It might be ok on this model which is 20k /30k? Don't know, it's fantastic but I can see an issue, if any one can answer??
Thanks for your comment Lyndon. There are always going to be subtle differences whenever you have two acoustic pianos playing together at the same time, but I believe that lends a richer, more "realistic" sound. When you're working with a great piano tuner/technician, you should have no problems. And you can always switch to the digital piano if you can't wait for your piano tuner to touch up your instrument ;)
Thanks for your observation, Joe! There's certainly a place for electric pianos that don't try to sound like acoustic ones - Clavinovas have a nice selection of electric piano sounds, especially the CVP models, and they're a great supplement to the "conventional" piano sounds, so it all works together :) Enjoy your CLP-545!!
Maybe I could make a speaker shelf and amplifier for my midi keyboard in a similar way they were popular in cars. I don't have the finances or the space to own one of these. That's the stuff dreams are made of.

Hello Ruben - yes, the keys feel the same in acoustic and silent/transacoustic modes. The slight reduction in hammer distance is barely noticeable!
What happens when the piano goes out of tune? Does the digital piano go out of tune with the acoustic piano?
Amazing demo even thou I don't know much about it... enjoyed it!
So glad you enjoyed that, Steve!
brilliant.
wait so is the default sound completely acoustic, and not from any speaker?

The main difference between these pianos is the size - the GB1K is a 5' piano, and the GC1 is 5'3"
Very impressive!
the acoustic part so the strings how many times a year should this be tuned?
