    hello, how are the white toes at minute 3:47 put on? Thank you

      Hi. If you are regarding the ptfe bushes that are in the tip of the pole then they come pre bushed. The top kits for map poles all come with. The white ptfe already installed. I hope this helps .

    Hi there I just pleasure fish but generally I don't need fish more then say 10mtr so I'm been wondering about just getting a margin pole. Only thing I'm looking for a cheapish pole that's 70 for fishing in front for silvers but of course would like to use it for the larger fish and wondering if this would be good for both options as I'll be using it at shorter lengths for most of the time but always a nice option to fish that bit further out. Regards martin

      Well it's certainly up to the task of all fish sizes . The match top kits I have set with 6 hybrid elastic and 8. This catches everything up to tench of about 3lb with no problem and very good play. The carp kits I'd set with whatever you need as I've had many low and mid doubles on them without issue. It can handle all that's thrown at it.

      Thanks for an early reply I'm just so torn between so many options but I've noticed this does come under the £500 mark which is really the maximum I can afford but at least I'll have all that I will need. Some of the latest margin pole look and feel very good but generally 8/9 mtrs which for the most part is more then enough for me but you have to pay a lot more for mini extentions which then makes me go back towards a normal pole . I bet this pole at around 8/ 9 metres is pretty light? Would you say its quite stiff? And are the top kits a kind off standard length as say the edge monster top kits are really long. Feel like there I bit too long.

    • @fishingbitesandbanter293
      @fishingbitesandbanter293  2 года назад

      I'd say the kits are standard length. The pole at 8 meters is certainly stiff enough and if you manage to get a few of the shallow kits then it becomes like a pole a grade higher. I really love this pole at top kit plus 3 for handling .

    • @martinhassall7884
      @martinhassall7884 2 года назад

      Silly question but the side pullers I take it you can still pull the elastic without the part inside you said about (sorry forgot the name) . I never had a map pole before but I really liked the look of these when they came out . I wonder how much the short top kits will be as I'd be tempted buy one anyway.

    • @fishingbitesandbanter293
      @fishingbitesandbanter293  2 года назад

      The short kits are between 40 and 60 depending on type and where. Also the puller on the map pole us a direct feed through an l shaped tube . It's brilliant for subduing those larger fish

    I have just had this delivered. Not used it yet. A small criticism is that the match kit is supplied with the 1 section in a very narrow plastic tube and the 2 section inside the pole. This is a bit daft, because once you've elasticated it, you have no spare protective tube that it will fit into. What have they saved using a narrower tube than the ones used for the power kits and cupping kit, a couple of quid?
    The other thing isn't a criticism, just something for buyers to note, the 7 section had jammed itself tightly into the 8 section in transit, which caused me some confusion as to why things didn't fit, until I realized I was missing a section. It wasn't easy to see, because it is a perfect fit and just makes it look like a thick walled section!
    Seems good in the garden, I can't wait to get down the canal with it.

    • @fishingbitesandbanter293
      @fishingbitesandbanter293  4 года назад

      Hi. Haven't had any sections get jammed while in its tube. As for the thin tube for the match top kit I too was confused by this. I tend to keep my cupping kit top section in this and put the match section in the cupping kit tube . Just have the second section of cupping kit in the pole with the other 8 sections as I always make the cupping kit up whenever I go fishing. But yes a definite silly decision not to have all top kit tubes the same.

    Hi mate great video I am looking at this pole I have the Drennan red range 12.5 metre pole but it’s nigh on impossible to fish at it’s full capacity just so heavy and it’s bouncing and around like mad when I’m shipping it out ... so how does this map tks 101 feel at 13 metres is it comfortable? many thanks

    • @fishingbitesandbanter293
      @fishingbitesandbanter293  3 года назад +1

      Not fished it often at full length but when I have it is manageable . A little heavy but no where near as heavy as the margin pole. And if you find it a bit whippy and bouncy put a 1 piece shallow kit on. It makes the pole so much more stuff and responsive.

    Can you land carp on match kit

    • @fishingbitesandbanter293
      @fishingbitesandbanter293  3 года назад +2

      Yes . You need to have the right rig and elastic to manage bit yes you can. It's not as strong as a powerkit so don't expect to haul in double figure carp but I've caught many on mine.

    You have made a great video for us here. I am about to upgrade mine from 11.5m for a longer pole. Can you tell me about the weights of the this pole, whit match kit and also with the power kit, if you could do that please! I will really appreciate it

    • @fishingbitesandbanter293
      @fishingbitesandbanter293  4 года назад +1

      Hi. Without getting back on the bank properly I can tell you that the weight difference between the two kits is barely noticeable but the power kits definitely stiffen up the action of the pole. My recommendation would also be to get a shalla kit. They are 1 piece 6ft top kits with side puller. They make the pole supper rigid at the loss of a little maximum length bit are brilliant for margin fishing.

      It's not always about the weight of the pole..balance plays a real big part,and being a map pole I bet it's good.

    • @fishingbitesandbanter293
      @fishingbitesandbanter293  3 года назад

      Got slik in the match top kit now. It is a fantastic elastic and works really well. It does lose a bit of elasticity over a few sessions but it's brilliant for my crucians and tench fishing using the 6 to 8.

    Do you still own this? My plan was to get the map 13 or 14m down the line so the topkits off my 8.5 map margin pole will fit .. was it good to fish? Cheers for vids

      @@newyoupersonaldevelopment3497 I got my tks 8.5m power margin couple days ago, it came with 3 topkits wich was a bonus .. iv set 1 up with preston duraslip 13 and one duraslip 15 .. don't suppose you know if I can get a cupping kit or would I be best making one out of the spare topkit I have atm? I'd need to find a way to attach a pot I'm guessing.. I'm hoping to get the 301 after Christmas and topkits will interchange.. that was main reason I went with the map tbh

      Same as myself . I believe if you ask your local tackle shop that supplies map poles or angling direct maybe they can get the cupping kits in.

      @@leafysfishing if you get a 301 or 401 that comes with a cupping kit. Beware though if you twist it may come out of the pole.mine did. No big deal though just epoxy it back in.
      The power margin is excellent I use it over my 401 up to its full 8.5m (top kit and 4) I find it hard to believe that paying twice the price would give you twice the quality. I love that my 401 (with 4 extra short top kits) and power margin cost me less than half of what most of my club members paid for their poles, and as yet I’ve not finished near the bottom on any of our matches. For the little extra I would consider the 401 over the 301 but go with your budget. Thanks to fishing bites and banter for putting me onto the map poles I nearly pushed the boat out paying silly money for a 16m pole I would probably rarely fish over 13m 👍

    Great video mate. I'm looking for a new pole but I have a dilema - I've narrowed it down to this the tks 101 3g, preston protype x200 or the daiwa c1 matchwinner.
    After watching this I'm swaying towards the 101 now.
    Did you have a few in mind before this?

    • @fishingbitesandbanter293
      @fishingbitesandbanter293  4 года назад +1

      I was in the same dilemma. Was also looking at the Preston xtype and the diawa. I asked a lot of other pole anglers advice and most said you can't go wrong with either Preston or map for spares and after sales services as both packages are similar. After holding both I did feel slightly more comfortable with the map. Maybe personal preference but I've used mine now for both silvers on the match kit and carp on the power kits and I've been very impressed at both handling and power. Hope you are happy with which ever you choose and have many nets filled with it. 🎣
