You will be at the European Swimming Championships from August 22nd to 27th, 1983 in the Foro Italico in Rome and at the 7th European Junior Athletics Championships from August 25th to 28th, 1983 in the Rudolf Tonn Stadium in Schwechat (Austria) and another athletics event.
Remember names like those of the mysteriously late Florence Griffith-Joyner, the tall British Kathy Cook-Smallwood. May I ask a question? I am from the United States I do not know German but I appreciate the subtitles. However what's very confusing to me is that in these swimming races why are the races so heavily edited that were only seeing brief parts of them? Or for example do you have a copy of the entire race in the 100 m breaststroke for women? Because we only see the beginning of it we don't even see the entire race at all. Why is that? Why do we not see the entire race for both the women's 400 free relay and the women's medley relay? Only the end?
Can you read video tape it or retransfer it so that we can see the entire races?
Thanks for your comment. If you had read the description and the title, you would have realized that this compilation is only about conveying impressions with a focus on the athletes and not about recording a complete competition.
Vielen Dank fürs Hochladen. Das erste LA-Event ist nicht irgendeine Veranstaltung. Es ist das mit Weltklasse-Athleten besetzte Grand Prix Turnier in Zürich im alten "Letzigrund".

All these people accusing Griffith of doping yet she almost broke the 100m world record as early as 1983.

What? I'm confused on two parts. I am from the United States and I follow Olympic history in both swimming and track and field very much as well as several other sports .
It's very well known that there's no question that Florence Griffith Joyner had indeed taken human growth hormone and maybe also steroids. It wasn't pure coincidence that she retired just months after they announced mandatory out of competition drug testing.
The question I have for you here is I don't find any evidence in all of the record keeping that I have for the 100 m races in 1983 and especially concerning Florence Griffith, coming anywhere near to the 100 m world record in 1983. As a matter of fact she was only competitive internationally at that time in 200 m. She did not even make the US Olympic team in 1984 in the 4x100 relay. Even as an alternate she did not make it. So she only made the Olympic team in 1984 in 200 meters.
Since you are making this claim, would you please provide us with the date and month, the the place meaning the city or the event/meat and the exact time in the 100 m that you are referencing when you're saying that she almost wrote the 100 m record in 1983? And the important part here is obviously the exact time that you are referencing that she ran. My records have always indicated that either Marlies Gohr or Evelyn Ashford were close to the best or indeed held the 100 meter WR in "83-'84.
More importantly and again I stress this it goes back to what I said in the beginning, Florence did not even have a top 25 in the world 100 m time and was not internationally competitive in that race until after 1986? What proof do you have.?
And again I can assure you that there is no way possible that Flo Jo never doped. We even have documentation that in an interview while she was still alive I believe this was 1995, the person who from Europe who was an American athlete and sprinter admitted to selling her not only human growth hormone but testosterone leading up to the 88 games.
Why not test all the frozen samples from the past! Testing is way more advanced now! There be a hell of a lot of gold medals handed back!
Every time has its heroes. At that time, other countries also doped. The heroes of that time paid for their fame in part with their health. At least give them the medals. 🇩🇪 Jede Zeit hat ihre Helden. Damals haben auch andere Länder gedopt. Die Helden von damals haben ihren Ruhm teilweise mit ihrer Gesundheit bezahlt. Gönnt ihnen wenigstens die Medaillen.
@@neleschulz6412 Ich gehe auch davon aus, dass die meisten Athletinnen (ich spare mir den lächerlichen *) nicht genauwussten, was sie da bekamen. Allerdings denke ich nicht, dass die Westdeutschen die DDR erniedrigen wollten. Es ging um Aufklärung und ja auch um Entschädigungsrenten. Ansonsten hast du allerdings insofern recht, als der Deutsche gern sein eigenes Nest beschmutzt. ;-)
@@andidauerblog Es ging dem Westen zuallererst um sein eigenes Reinwaschen. Genau zu diesem Zweck wurde von der Bundespolitik das Dopingopfer-Hilfegesetz verabschiedet, welches praktisch alle westdeutschen Dopingopfer ausschließt und damit suggeriert, dass Doping ein ostdeutsches Symptom gewesen wäre. Ausgerechnet die Bundespolitik, die noch zu Zeiten des Kalten Krieges ein Antidoping-Gesetz abgelehnt hatte, weil sie sich für die Einhaltung der Dopingregularien im (west)deutschen Sport nicht zuständig fühlte. Heutzutage wird eine öffentliche Aufarbeitung oder gar Diskussion dieser Missstände tunlichst vermieden. Im Gegensatz zu ihren ostdeutschen Pendants sind von den westdeutschen Involvierten noch immer viele in Amt und Würden. Dass sich darüber hinaus ein so eng verflochtenes und zudem ausführlich dokumentiertes Netzwerk wie das der DDR viel einfacher aufdecken lässt als das westliche föderale System lokaler Netzwerke - die dortigen öffentlich gemachten Skandale (BALCO, Fuentes etc.) waren kein Ergebnis von investigativem Journalismus sondern beruhten stets auf zufällige Treffer (anonyme Hinweise etc.) - ist dabei natürlich ein sehr günstiger Umstand, der entsprechend ausgenutzt wird.
Letzteres zeigt sich heutzutage auch wieder schön beim Thema "Russisches Staatsdoping". Dass man sich dort wiederholt am Begriff "staatlich" abarbeitet, liegt einfach darin zugrunde, dass das ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal der Ostblockländer darstellt, wo traditionell auch staatliche Stellen aktiv eingebunden sind. Dass damit lediglich die Art der Organisation beschrieben wird und nicht etwa der Grad an systematischem Doping, der in den westlichen Sportverbänden deutlich weiter fortgeschritten sein dürfte, wird aus nachvollziehbaren Gründen verschwiegen. Keiner möchte zugeben, dass systematisches Doping nach wie vor elementarer Bestandteil des Hochleistungssports ist. Oder dass obere staatliche Stellen zwar nicht aktiv mitmischen, als Mitwisser aber das Ganze dulden (was für die Bundesregierung für die Zeit der deutsch-deutschen Teilung mittlerweile belegt ist). Lieber konzentriert man sich darauf, dass die Außendarstellung des blütenweißen Sports gewahrt bleibt. Einen neuerlichen Skandal wie beim Radsport - der beim besten Willen nicht osteuropäisch geprägt ist - möchte man um jeden Preis vermeiden. Bevor man in die Verlegenheit kommt, hier eine öffentliche Debatte anzustoßen, zündet man viel lieber weitere Nebelkerzen und schließt weiterhin alle russischen Sportler oder gar das östlich dominierte Problemkind Gewichtheben von Olympia aus. Der Imagegewinn für das IOC würde den zu erwartenden finanziellen Verlust mehr als ausgleichen. Dagegen wäre ein neuerlicher fallender Held vom Schlage eines Lance Armstrong wie bspw. Bolt, Phelps oder Messi der SuperGau.
