I recently paid $1K for a government contracting course. I learned more useful information in your video than I did in that 4 week course!!! I can't thank you enough!!!!!
I'm glad you found it helpful. Watch my full course on RUclips, it's completely free. I believe this information should be freely available to everybody!
@@ClancyKiley Actually, I was contacted by someone that found me in a FB nurse entrepreneur group to partner with them on a state contract. Yesterday, I was notified that my profile in SAM was registered, complete with CAGE code assignment.
@@FedAccess is there any chance I can talk to you? I feel so lost. What did the course provided if you would share it please, I am looking for one that has some proposal templates and stuff like that, some proposals are as easy as sending a email in with a lump sum amount but others like the ones that require technical approach, past performance and stuff like that are definitely more of a challenge, thanks in advance!
Your teachings on gov't contracting are by far the best on RUclips, I can testify to that. your videos are straight to the point, no time wasting and very insightful with tons of information no bs. thank you so much for your kindness!
I find your videos to be the most straight to the point and very informative videos I have seen thus far. I have watched a lot of videos where they purposely leave out all the correct info. Thank you so much for creating these videos, they help so very much.
Thank you so much for all you do. You will never understand how much this means to have solid information with absolutely no gatekeeping or holding out for any funds you may have. Thanks for not holding this info hostage for a ransom. Bless you.
Thanks for the Great video. I have been playing around with FPDS and USA spending for awhile and personally I like FPDS much better. whats your opinion?
I use FPDS because it is the source data. As I understand it, the other website are pulling from the fpds database. i prefer going directly to the source! FPDS is my favorite source of data. I'm glad you like fpds too!
@FedAccess Great video! 😊What’s a good category for finding contracts within local counties? Which option should I pick under the 'Select one' menu when searching for counties and cities? Thanks for the help! 👍
This was so so helpful. I was bout to pay $1500 to learn what you taught in 15 mins. Is there video on what 2do next once you find a contract to pursue?
I'm just getting started with learning about all this so I appreciate your videos. I'd love for you to use photography services as an example in one of your upcoming videos. Thanks!
Thank you for the very informative videos! I'm going one by one through them, and it's a lot of information! I have a question. Cannot attach a screenshot here, but copying a few lines. I found a company that performed one contract. And in numbers, it shows minus. Here how it looks like: Current Total Action Obligation: -$841,284.00 $60,574,830.95 Base And Exercised Options Value: -$841,284.00 $60,574,830.95 Base and All Options Value (Total Contract Value): -$841,284.00 $116,581,917.18 this -841,284 - does it mean the money was withdrawn or something else?
This is normal. When the government awards the contract, they obligate money to the contract. Say they set aside $100 million for the contract. When the contract ends and all the invoices have been paid, there is usually some money left over. So as part of contract closeout, the government removes the unspent money from the contract. that is what you are seeing.
Thank you for your videos! I am trying to see if I can find federal contractors who are trying to subcontract work out to persons with disabilities. Can I find this information through the FPDS website?
This video talks about how to find large companies in your area that might be looking for subcontractors: ruclips.net/video/S49F0uu1dpg/видео.html Also, look into getting certified. Check out the 8(a) certification.
WONDERFUL INFORMATION! Thank you for all that you do. Do you have any videos that explain the Competition Information options (Extent Completed, Solicitation Procedures, etc)?
the most important things to understand are the simplified acquisition threshold which is $250,000 and the micro-purchase threshold which is 10,000. check out this video: ruclips.net/video/QTYK_r_du9U/видео.html
Question: Is there a way to find out what contracts are due to expire? Say in the next six months. PS-Great information and useful for navigating your way thru the maze that is the government red tape. Also, I would love to see how you complete the paperwork for RFQ!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I really don't know how to express how grateful I am! Also confused a little, but in the right way, the curiosity one. I believe this pivot table thing might change my life. Would love to do something for you somehow. I am a graphic designer, filmmaker, photographer, video editor, and printing expert, marketing student and now entering the world of virtual reality worlds creation (don't know what NAICS code would fit this and also which agency would need this new VR thing... trying to find out) Please, if I can give you any advice on any of these fields, count on me! I will post my list of questions later, maybe they are good starting points for content creation. I can't believe your channel is not full of people, it is a grrrrreeeeeeat channel! I understand that not too many people have the patience to get into government contracts.
This was extremely helpful! Thank you very much :-) I do have a question. When we click to view the contact and see an email address for the Contracting Officer would that be the main POC for us to reach out and solicit our services?
If you are new to this and just getting started, then I suggest making your first contact with the Small Business Specialist. You should be able to find their contact info by googling. The email address you see in FPDS is the email address for the contract specialist working on that particular contract. let me know how it goes.
Again massive alpha here - thank you. Regarding teaming partners that you see on FPDS , do you contact them after you are awarded the contract or before? How do you prevent them going to compete with you or help them see you are not a risk to them ?
Excellent video! Thank you so much for sharing this information. Navigating FPDS can be challenging. How can I search only for awards under the simplified acquisition procedure?
I would start by searching FPDS.gov or USASpending.gov to see who has made these purchases in the past. Check out this video: ruclips.net/video/UvccvosHChM/видео.html
There are several ways.... Once you have found your target agencies, you can talk to the small business specialist and ask them. Also, every agency publishes an acquisition forecast, so you can look there. Finally, you can look in FPDS. Many contracts are re-bid periodically (say every three years more or less). FPDS tells you the contract expiration date, so you can use that to see which ones are expiring and will be up for re-bid.
Question: Why would they award a contractor if they already have one in place and why would a contractor leave their watering hole? Are we getting opportunities vacated by other contractors? Are the vacancies due to the contractors making mistakes and not being welcomed back? Was there not enough contractors to begin with? Really curious about this as this seems like an opportunity nobody would ever leave.
Many government contracts are re-bid on a regular schedule, e.g., every three years. There are different reasons why contracts are not awarded to the incumbent, but often, there is a company that submits a lower bid because they are trying to get their foot in the door.
Is there anyway that you can provide a list of the most important columns to utilize when doing Pivot tables so they are easier to perform as well as understand and analyze? Sorry, that sure seems like a mouth full...lol
After viewing this video I found the answer to my own question. I just started playing around and clicking things and it worked out just fine. Thanks for simplifying this seemingly complicated process.
