Its so awesome when I find channels from my home town! I visit Corpus as often as I can. when I was a kid only the old men using these lures because I could never afford them lol. I am addicted to flat baits but these are so fun to use because of all the varieties. Really nice to meet you and your channel.
Nice fish on the purple. That color has always done well for me, but I was surprised to see how well it did under bright sun - I normally throw the purple under a dark sky or dark water conditions. Keep the vids coming.
Great video, the big girl showed up and showed out! That purple is the truth; it's a must to re-do this one just to see if the lighter color does matter. Love to see the pink and tequila sunrise go up against each other. Keep up the great work; the slow-motion is awesome to see the head shaking that is so cool. 👍💯✌🏽
😂🤠 anyone who hasn’t done it needs to quit fishing because the thrill is gone. Great video 👍 I love it when they are coming at ya with their mouth open shaking their heads most of the time it’s a good one .🐟 gotta put the pink in the rotation!
Love video. Monster trout Those corky are amazing for big trout. I'm curious to find out if they work as well in the summertime. If you get a chance please put out a video later this year. Using corky's at nighttime fishing and summertime.
Thanks bro. I definitely will! In the spring/summer I will switch over the the "floater" I plan on making some videos using the floater and going over them.
try the copper top and glow chartreuse tail!! This video was so 🔥🔥🔥mad respect, night wade looks sick. Keep pumping the awesome content and City skyline shots!!
How do you work this lure? Steady retrieve with sharp up and down rod movements? Never used one but interested. Man I need a good wade spot. Always wanted to do it.
There must be solid sandy bottoms and very few drop offs in the gulf for all this wade fishing? Here in the Chesapeake if you step off the bank into the water you might sink to your knees in mud or step off a 3 ft flat into a 20 ft drop off.
Yeah tons of flats here in South Texas. A couple channels and drop offs but nothing crazy like y'all got over there. I've been in knee/thigh deep mud multiple times lol.
Still dude your wade vids are great I always wait to see if you put out a new video. I usually catch all my nice trout fishing along the big reefs out along the gas wells
Great wading trip. Did you use the new laguna rod? How about giving the specs on the new laguna rod you have now. Would love to have one. Is it the 1,2, or 3 and what length? Medium light?
Looking at a lews for a Laguna medium light. That ultra light 4.0oz pros Cons? Other lews baitcast to consider. Have the money $. Just not sure which one. Thx
You have to fix it after every hit to make sure it will run straight and have the action you desire. Here is the best video out there explaining how to use it. ruclips.net/video/RZBEKCZuQbc/видео.html
my last trout video, I was fishing a new topwater lure and after catching my first trout. I made the same mistake. had to walk through the feeding trout to get to my lure. 🤦🏻♂️ waded a ways away. came back around and found them there again, caught them on dsl though.
My best fishing trip ever I caught a couple of 25 + trout in the surf at 3:30 am full moon. I could have caught more if I wasn't so drunk. Knock off Tsunami corky with glitter in the belly, pumpkin chart or something. In between the beach and the 1st bar! Big dogs are out late (early). This was Galveston, so huge fish for this far up the coast.
I was smoking huge 20" plus size Spec's using the Paul Brown Texas Chicken Fatty off the Quintana Jetties in late June 2022. Limuted out in 10min flat & started culling the 17" to 19" Spec's in Clear water & waist deep. 3 days in a row I was smoking the Trout! I had guys offering to buy my Fatty for $50 but it's all I had. Then a huge 26" plus came up just as I was about to pull it out & make another cast. He grabbed the whole lure, turned & snap! It was worth loosing a lure seeing that happen! Cut it just above the knot. I've never had 1 spit the hook either. I have all the Paul Brown's now. I'm a Paul Brown Fan boy now for huge Trout. If there's Trout in the water? They'll pull that Rod out of your hands! I was catching at dark just before daylight & after sunrise to 10a on that TX Chicken. It was beautiful 🤟
I've never used anything under 20 lb on a bait caster so I'm not sure. 20 can dig pretty good if you get a backlash. I'm sure 10lb would be worse. I use 10 lb braid on all of my spinning reels though!
Right before you got smoked on the white I was thinking to myself maybe I’ve been throwing white to much then... BAM lol But I still will pick up some darker colors Also we’ve all thrown some Corkies to Poseidon no shame lol
Hi everyone I'm from East Texas been in Victoria tx for a year just got started with this saltwater fishing I been using corkys for 5 months with no luck. What action rod works best I'm using a MH.
Have caught trout on so many different colors over the years. I believe lure colors and patterns for the most part are more for catching fisherman rather than the fish.
LMAO, I was getting thumped all morning a couple of days ago on white. Saw a big fish chasing a big mullet and got to excited and launched my $13 Corky to Narnia too.🤣🤣😂😂
Never seen anyone advocating releasing over 20. I have always done that with anything over 22”. Sent a nice 23.5” back today. Did happily keep a couple 20-21” fish today though. From all the research on growth charts I have seen, 20” seems a bit excessive. Would you mind explaining your reasoning? I am always open to reconsider my opinion. Love the videos...keep them coming🍻
Corkys rule!! Anyone interested look up Steve's Lures as he's my Corky supplier. Every color, custom colors and broke backs. First time subscriber and comment. Keep up the great vids.
I am so sorry I don't know your name other sthixs I was wondering have you heard of any fish kills r seen any from the cold weather Mr Trout does not like cold water

That purple does work those trout head shakes were crazy bunch of studs 😂
big fan stix! I follow alot of RUclipsrs and i truly believe you have what it takes to be at the top of fishing on youtube. keep that up!
Thanks bro that means a lot! Gonna keep grinding and continue to try and put out good content! Got a lot of good things planned
Nice fish on the purple. That color has always done well for me, but I was surprised to see how well it did under bright sun - I normally throw the purple under a dark sky or dark water conditions. Keep the vids coming.
Yeah purple did good early
love how this is right close to home in portland!!
yep
Your videos are excellent and very informative
Very nice!!!! Dam them fish are solid!! The corky gave you the “ hasta la vista” 😅😭😭
Yeah quality bites for this video. I'll take those two bigger fish than a bunch of dinks any day of the week!
Purple is one of my all time favorite colors lol. More good videos on the way!
Keep these wade videos coming. I learn alot using lures. Don't lure fish alot, but want to! Thanx!
Glad they help!
😂🤠 anyone who hasn’t done it needs to quit fishing because the thrill is gone. Great video 👍 I love it when they are coming at ya with their mouth open shaking their heads most of the time it’s a good one .🐟 gotta put the pink in the rotation!
Yeah the head shakes on the big ones are something special. I need to try pink more often!
I got that T-shirt too man! It happens to all of us!!
That backlash hurt lol awesome vid my man
Tell me about it lol
What pliers are you using great fishing love throwing lutes
How about comparing Red vs. Chartreuse. Great video!!!
Nice video bro. Love that purple Corkey but dang that is some nice trout bro.... 👍
Thanks bro! It was a solid day
I love how at 6:45 in the video you can hear that big sucker strip line before you even get to set the hook.

I was waiting for someone to say that 😂
That bite was insane!!!
👍👊🔥, Good Job Bro
We have all thrown Money off to never never land lol
I threw 3 customs off in east matty. Keep up the good times
Thanks bro! It always hurts worse when it is a custom lol.
One and done that corky didn’t have a chance lol! Good stuff bro!
I know I was so sad :(
Respect for wading in the dark at this time of year✊🏻
Gotta do it for the content! lol
This episode needs a 2.0 lol keep up these VS videos I learn a lot each one
Definitely plan on doing a lot more VS videos
try the copper top and glow chartreuse tail!! This video was so 🔥🔥🔥mad respect, night wade looks sick. Keep pumping the awesome content and City skyline shots!!
Thanks bro! More content on the way!
Awesome videos!
What's your setup for your other camera? I really like that third person view. Keep up the video brother.
Spot always produces!!!
Haha not always. I wish it was like that. Most of the time it is good though
Still dude your wade vids are great I always wait to see if you put out a new video. I usually catch all my nice trout fishing along the big reefs out along the gas wells
Nice! been meaning to brave more of the dark myself......and throw darker colors!
Yeah darkest I normally go is plum nasty lol. Thats the first time a throw an all dark bait. It did well early but tapered off.
“That was a series of unfortunate events...” lol 👍. How is that Lew’s ultralight handling the Salt?
Haha it was! So far no complaints. Only have had them a couple months though
What wading belt are you using??
what wadding belt do you use? looks solid for carrying gear and extra rod
Thanks
Fish-n-Hunt wading belt. Hard to find but I think they still make them.
Dude I did that exact thing the cast after catching my first 30”! Threw that clear chartreuse devil a mile 😂. Keep it up man love the videos
After you caught a 30" Damn I wish that would have happened to me 😂 Should have retired that corky
@@StixHD that was the plan! But one more cast what could it hurt......😅lmao
Lmao.... it’s amazing how far you can slingshot them expensive lures when that braid snaps. I’ve had them fling out of sight. 🤣🤣
Hope you brought more than two baits when it happened to you :-)
Seriously haha. It always when I try to cast it a mile also 😂
Great wading trip. Did you use the new laguna rod? How about giving the specs on the new laguna rod you have now. Would love to have one. Is it the 1,2, or 3 and what length? Medium light?
No I didn't I wish I was throwing it lol. I was using a laguna liquid for both setups. The new rod I got is a 6'4" Light Texas Wader 1.
@@StixHD thanks for the info man!!! Your videos are great!!!
Are you fishing the causeway??
Looking at a lews for a Laguna medium light. That ultra light 4.0oz pros Cons? Other lews baitcast to consider. Have the money $. Just not sure which one. Thx
Its crazy light. Have only had the reel for a couple of months but I like it so far.
Great video. Why were you bending the front and back of the corky?
You have to fix it after every hit to make sure it will run straight and have the action you desire. Here is the best video out there explaining how to use it.

@@StixHD Greatly appreciated!!!
My PB. Was on a LSU color Original in Baffin (29”). Love purple in off color water.
That LSU purple and Gold? Solid color I need to get me one lol
How do u work the corky lure

FTU had the knock offs on sale for like a dollar a piece, the only reason I had them. PB corky is in a different league, no disrespect!
interesting retrieve....looks like up and down then a drag? Can you desribe your retrieve style please
I was smoking huge 20" plus size Spec's using the Paul Brown Texas Chicken Fatty off the Quintana Jetties in late June 2022. Limuted out in 10min flat & started culling the 17" to 19" Spec's in Clear water & waist deep.

Would love to see more broken back corky vids
Nice video! Keep it up
Thanks!
What is your opinion on using 10lb braid on bait casting reels?
Most mention to use 15-20lb as it doesn't dig into the line spool.
I've never used anything under 20 lb on a bait caster so I'm not sure. 20 can dig pretty good if you get a backlash. I'm sure 10lb would be worse. I use 10 lb braid on all of my spinning reels though!
@@StixHD thank you
My two favorite colors to throw especially that white and I’ve thrown them off 3 times like that also 😅
Yeah I've lost a handful this winter probably 3 or 4 lol.
Hey bro I don’t people really don’t like giving away spots but can you tell what road are fishing besides 😅 nice vid btw man
Great content man, love the comparisons between corkys inspiring me to do similar experiments.
Thanks brother appreciate it! It's a fun little challenge but its annoying switching all the time 😂
Did that with a slam shady and texas eye
Damnnnnnnn!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Right before you got smoked on the white I was thinking to myself maybe I’ve been throwing white to much then... BAM lol
But I still will pick up some darker colors

Lol yeah that trout thumped the white hard. Really wish I wouldn't have thrown it off to see if I would have gotten more bites once the sun came up
Hi everyone I'm from East Texas been in Victoria tx for a year just got started with this saltwater fishing I been using corkys for 5 months with no luck. What action rod works best
I'm using a MH.
It’s crazy how the fish bull some drag before you even set the hook.
That 5lber slammed it!!
Yeah it was a crazy bite!
Have caught trout on so many different colors over the years. I believe lure colors and patterns for the most part are more for catching fisherman rather than the fish.
Have definitely made a few $10 casts before.
Do a coastal marsh colors, blow pop and ransom
Nice those would be good. Pretty close to the complete opposite!
@@StixHD if you’d like someone to fish with hmu, one of us could throw one and the other throw the other color to whole time
Awesome
LMAO, I was getting thumped all morning a couple of days ago on white. Saw a big fish chasing a big mullet and got to excited and launched my $13 Corky to Narnia too.🤣🤣😂😂
Damn on a white also!? And yeah bro I had all this adrenaline and then launched my corky lol
That's all I do is night fish for trout redfish nook black works well and also white or silver
I'm trying to go fishing with you. Whats up with it?
You know its big when its ripping drag before you set the hook.
Yup crazy hit for sure!
NICE👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Wish I was there too.

I launched a corky the other day. In fact it was a white one as well.
Damn something about that white one and launching them 💔
February is the best I knew it would turn around 4 u patients and percents it pays off that 30 is right around that corner!!!
I hope so! Still no giant yet but we are gonna keep grinding!
I know the feeling man! I lost 2 back to back cast 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Damn Back to Back 😭
What length, action, power rod do you like to use throwing fat boys?
Omg how he hit that lure
He slammed it!
@@StixHD dude awesome videos man keep on doing what you’re doing

LSU vs Glow
Does MirrOLure make an LSU color? or is it a custom?

Excellent, too bad on losing the obese child, dang. But superb bites and fish.
