Serrapeptase, technically called Serratio Peptidase, is a proteolytic enzyme, which means that it chops up or digests protein. It is produced by bacteria in the gut of silkworms and is used to digest their cocoons. When this enzyme is isolated and coated in the form of a tablet, it has been shown to act as an anti-inflammatory and a pain-blocker, much like aspirin, ibuprofen and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). What’s more, preliminary research indicates that Serrapeptase may even help inhibit plaque build-up in arteries, thereby preventing atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and a resulting heart attack or stroke. Therefore, much like aspirin, this naturally derived enzyme may work to prevent inflammation, pain, heart attack and stroke. Unlike aspirin and other over-the-counter (OTC) NSAIDs, Serrapeptase has not been shown to cause ulcers and stomach bleeding.
Serrapeptase on an empty stomach, meaning that Serrapeptase should be taken at least two hours after eating, and no food should be consumed for a half hour after taking Serrapeptase
20,000 SPU = 10 milligrams. 40,000 SPU = 20 milligrams. 120,000 SPU = 60 milligrams.
Just remember this formula to help you do the math: 10mg = 20,000 SPU

For blocked Fallopian tubes: 80,000 SPU capsules, 2 x 2 times per day.

Pain: start with 10 mg and work up to 60 mg if needed.
Injury, trauma, or post surgery recovery: 30 mg for 2 days, then 20 mg daily until swelling and pain subside.

unfortunately Dr Jawaan passed away in May 2024.
Years ago I used serrapeptase to eliminate a pimple I couldn't get rid of. It worked and worked fast. I am now in front of a nose polyp operation. I remembered the serrapeptase and I am going to try it again. Physician heal thyself. I have 1 month before the operation. I will let you know if it worked. Thank you for this upload.

Thank you. I had a bottle of Doctor's Best with SPU 120, 000 purchased a few months ago which I was about to start taking. However, I read some comments with people taking that dose with some bad vomiting and diarhhea after a few weeks of taking. I have some finger joint pain and swelling , am overweight, over 60. I started exercising and starting to cut out simple carbs and sugar and eating healthy overall. So, I will order a lower dosage, maybe 10,000 SPU or 20,000 SPU (not sure which), to avoid any possible side effects of taking a higher dosage

Taking this for multiple uterine fibroids. 120k spu too strong took 1 pill each day for two days. First day was a dream was dizzy, ears popped it knocked me slept like a baby, very mild ab discomfort contractions less eye floaters by end of day. Day two sharp pains in small intestines right ovary and heart off and on. Pain in legs day 3 akin to electric shocks? As if I was working out but worse like I pulled all the muscles simultaneously...😢 but didn't take 3rd pill--I'm supposed take a 3rd today but still in pain from day two🫤.

I started taking this, 120,000, for a cyst on my little finger that went knuckle to knuckle. It is now gone. But at that amount, I saw no difference in pain that I have, so then recently I wondered, what if I take two? I've noticed a difference starting. I only started yesterday.

Tyvm 4 the informative video on dosage and drug timing. I take Advils for back pain and inflammation. So I should be careful about seripeptase ? Because Advils thin the blood. I'll start it in the am on an empty stomach.
This worked wonders until I had a hip replacement, be very careful, I think the stuff was trying to remove the alien materials! I got what felt like the worst case of food poisoning, ever. I had taken it about 8 months before the surgery, when I took it again, after I healed, had no idea it was the serapeptase, until I took it again! Then, I opened a capsule of a different brand, and took just a few granules ( takes a while for me to learn) I got about half as sick. Severe stomach cramps, and a lava flow of diarrhea for several hours. So, try to be the original model, body wise, if you try this.
Really interesting. Looking at the dose suggestions on my bottle it says 80,000 iu to be taken up to 3 times a day. So, if 80,000 iu is 40mg then 3 times a day is 120mg. Way more than JDoc is suggesting.
It is depends on what you are trying to achieve. Remember, this is only for short term.

I can't find any brands that have anything less than 120,000 IUs in a single dose? My questions are:

I read you have to take higher doses because most of it does not reach the large intestine and they sell as 80,000 so Im using that for sinus I am feeling some relief but I am also fasting regularly so not sure where the relief is coming from.

Hey Doc thank you for the video I have abdominal adhesions previously had a laparoscopic procedure 10 years ago but more recently getting pundendal nueralgia been suffering about 4 years now with the pain had an mri they told me I had potential endo around my left ovary will this eat that scarring? Serrepeptase works differently. Not for RA. I would watch EVERY RUclips video on what you can take for RA. Two different systems.

This stuff really helps with chronic prostatitis and epididymitis. I have tablets that are 250,000 IU 1x per day and seem to do a good job, not sure how long to take them for though. Sounds like a high dose compared to your recommendations 😂

It's not measured in mg... I just ordered a concentrated form that contains 600 000 units per gram.
The maximum recommended dosage per day is 250 000 units. They also sell powders with less units per gram so you can't say 10mg contains this much etc.
But most people will not buy it in bulk like I did but in capsule form.
Research further if you want to take it long-term what to take alongside to avoid aide effects like lysine and proline. There is a video on RUclips by a bearded guy who explains it very well. I let you search!

I have seen dosages up to 250 000 units per day and even more!
The capsules l started with had 80 000 units per capsule but l was dizzy enough with half that amount when starting. It dissolves biofilms of candida and other parasites hence the die off symptoms.
What is die off symptoms?
I have chronic sinutis and 40000 spu/iu did not. Once i bumped it to 80000 spu i had a drastic change.

Also I drank 4 cups lemon water in 4 hours. In the 6th hour I took 125000 of serrapeptase with my other vitamins and I began upchucking. I was so weak afterwards that I just laid in bed the rest of the day. Was drinking the lemon water earlier not a good idea. Why did I have such a strong reaction?
Take the serra by itself, first thing in the morning or at night. The stomach must be empty.

I've tried it for 3 weeks. Every morning (Dr. Best, 120,000 SPU), before eating with lots of water. I got no clear benefit. My frozen shoulder inflammation remains the same. A waste of time and money for me. I think people should know another perspective, even though it's just my own experience.

Although it's still unclear, most will recognize a Frozen shoulder is caused by inflammation. I've also noticed that even the doctors on RUclips cannot agree with one another on all types of issues, assuming the self-proclaimed doctors on RUclips are in fact, doctors. (Not thinking of anyone in particular).
Not all meds, let alone supplements, work for everyone. Most, if not all, of the comments here are praising Serrapeptase. I'm here to offer another perspective, albeit anecdotally. That's all. I tried it for myself and observed no change or improvement in inflammation or pain. During the trial period, my osteoarthritis also flared up. It was one of the worst flare ups in a long time, but I hesitate to attribute it to the Serrapeptase that I have been taking.
I have gastritis (and healing ulcers), esophagitis and laryngitis. I'd like to take this as alternative to hydrocortisone to repair tight throat and esophagus due to inflammation. Is this safe for someone with my condition? Thanks!
Yes --- I would HIGHLY recommend you change your diet..... fix the pH of your stomach as well. Use this as a 'band aid' while you correct how your system is working.

Hey Doc. I’m going to start a Serra / Nattokinase regime soon to try and repair some old soft tissue injuries that are bothering me. I’m also due to get a (non mRNA) Gardisil vaccine shortly which is not cheap and is a 3 dose vaccine over several months I believe. Would the Serra have any effect of the efficacy of the vaccine? I have read that with heavy arterial plaque you may want to work up to a maximum dose of 250,000 IU per day. Some studies have been done taking 100,000 IU per day. Any issue having coffee during that first morning hour after taking SP?
My understanding is to avoid protein within that hour, so no creamer in your coffee. Maybe black coffee would be best.
I think you should better take nothing. Just the supplement with water on empty stomach than eat or drink after 1,5 hour.
What would be a safe dosage of serrapeptase if other blood thinning supplements such as cinnamon, Curcumin, Alpha Lipoic acid, etc are also used? PAD, CKD, and neuropathy of the lower legs and feet are main medical complaints!

Try MSM, it works great. It's one of the things they give race horses. I take the crystal form. At 60 I'm never going to be without it. Oh btw it's the only thing that helped a torn chest muscle I got from lifting heavy weights 30 years ago.

I started taking a different brand and was doing well. I took it for about two weeks, stopped for a week and when I resumed taking it, I vomited so much I thought that I was going to die. I just don’t understand what caused me to get so sick when I started out great.
Lower the dosage?
It’s because you are detoxing too fast. Start with. Lower IU and then build back up SLOWLY. I went through the same thing!

I had a similar experience. I took it successfully for two months and then suddenly had serious vomiting episodes when I would take it and also get fevers.
I tried lowering the dosage but it still happened. I’d like you take it again because it did bring down my inflammation but I really don’t want to get so sick again. Were you able to resume taking it at a lower dose?

I have serrapeptase with suggested use 1-2 capsules. The measurement is in SU’s 260,000 for two capsules. I take one capsule a day. How many mg’s or IU’s is that? And also, are you saying never take fish oil when taking this? I have been taking both. Serrapeptase in the morning and fish oil later in the day. Thanks for all your important information.
Is that 260,000 IU per 2 capsules? That is alot. Fish oil does this out the blood. I would recommend decreasing the Serrapeptase to 20,000 IU's and take on an empty stomach.
The capsules are 2caps=260,000 SU.....not IU. I only take one capsule so that would be 130,000 SU a day. But I don’t know how much that is compared to mg or I U. They are called Serra Rx 260

Thank you for this video. Well done. You said if one is taking Serrapeptase with fish oil it may thin the blood too much. What about ground flax seed as an omega-3 source? Would that be a problem as far as thinning the blood too much, or doesn't the flax seed have the same concern as fish oil?

I have stage 4 endometriosis and often have ovarian cyst & fibroids which cause daily chronic pain. I have had 2 laparoscopic surgeries; the endometriosis has compromised my appendix & and my right kidney (which is now only functioning at 10%). I am considering taking serrapeptase with wobenzym and nattokinase. In your professional opinion will this combination help dissolve cysts, fibroids and scar tissue, help prevent regrowth of such and stop chronic pain ? According to research --- and I always encourage my viewers to do their own research as well. Read the comments below as well What do you have to lose? Take them and see what happens. I would recommend taking them on alternate days instead of everything at once.
I am not a doctor and have no medical training. That said, I've issues with large and fast growing fibroids. I had a myomectomy when I was in my 30's for 2 large tumors. My tumors came back after about a year. I love coffee and I think that's aggravated my condition greatly over the years (I've read caffeine is very bad for this condition). I gave up coffee (again) 2 weeks ago.. In the past I've taken Serrapeptase and it seems to help me, but my tumors are very large and are going to take a while to do this naturally. Diet and exercise absolutely seems to effect this condition in my case. I did a Master Cleanse for 10 days several years ago and that definitely helped but not long enough to eliminate the tumors, just reduced them a bit. I'm now taking Serrapeptase (again) 1st thing in the AM - then later in the day a bunch of supplements (including DIM, MYOMIN from Amazon, D3, K2, and a few others) and also doing qigong and caster oil packs on my liver area. I've reduced my meals to 2 a day and am doing low carb, and eating mostly natural real foods for the past 2 weeks and I do notice a very slight beneficial change. My basketball belly seems to have deflated a little bit :)
I think doing things naturally always take longer than drastic things like surgery, so depending on your condition you'll need to decide what is best for you along with professional medical advice. The strongest advice I have is doing research on diet as well as supplements. I wish you the best!

I would recommend 3 months in between.
If you take it for some weeks and find relief, my experience is continue taking it if you wish. In my case, I took it for 2 years before stopping. The issues I took it for were fixed. I later resumed taking it for protection of my circulatory system.

But the recommended daily dosage says one capsule per day ... I don't know if this can be increased depending on one's personal case ... Maybe the doctor can clarify this 🤔

20,000 SPU = 10 milligrams. 40,000 SPU = 20 milligrams. 120,000 SPU = 60 milligrams. 250,000 SPU = 125,000 milligrams.

Recommended dosage for fibroids are: 10 mg 3X a day. Remember, diet is first ---watch the gluten, wheat, sugar, dairy, and soy.

In other websites states that 1mcg is equal to 20 IU, so 10000 mcg/10mg is equal to 200,000IU.
