I can understand his reasons though, I have a guitar that is WAY nicer than anything I should have. Between not really playing well enough to justify having it, and the fact I'm too paranoid about damaging it, I almost feel guilty for keeping it when it would be much better off in someone elses hands.
As it's his car I think it's fair if he doesn't drive it enough. Still think there are plenty of more expensive cars that I would be more scared of damaging. But when you find one of these in original condition you really want to preserve it for future generations to enjoy.
But don't you get it, life is so much more than literature. He isn't trying to make literature. He isn't trying to inspire someone to write a beautiful passage about their beloved Toyota that revs up that hill perfectly and anoints them a holy view of some Pennsylvania valley. He does not care about the thousands of beautiful words that could be spilled about this car's incredibly simple and perfect approach to being everything it needs to be and nothing more or less, but also so awesomely fun. He is not trying to make fucking literature, are you insane? He is trying to make life. Drive the MR2. Let it live. Take it out in the sunshine. You give it the life it needs, dents and scrapes and leaners and all. You see, he can only imagine it as literature: perfect beginning, middle, and end. This is his perfect end: to grand it everlasting suspended potential in someone else's hands. Literature? No, no. Life.
TechnoProdigy, that would make no sense, he just got his Falcon restored middle of last year and had the Fit for 2 years before that, the Echo was the starter car before the Fit, so why would he have THREE cars and only tell us about the 2 over a 2 year period?? There's not even any previous footage of it in his garage when he was doing Falcon videos, so he must've just got it this year 5 months ago!
So here's the thing: You don't know who's going to buy this car. If you want to protect it, selling it to some rando is much more risky than driving it yourself.
Yea but the bring a trailer crowd are “less” likely to be horrible to a car and more likely to be respectful of this MR2 as they are car enthusiast them self’s.
This. Keep it, pull it out for shows and the occasional back road Sunday blast. I once owned a 1990 NA MX5, just over 100k kms, absolutely mint like this MR2 - changed jobs and the car was no longer practical so I sold it to a young couple who wanted it as a second car. It went to a great home but not a day goes by that I don't wish I had kept it. Not many people can say that they own the car they dreamed about as a young man, purchases like this are not rationally motivated but driven by the heart. Selling it for rational reasons as you elucidated here seems, dare I say it, a bit of a waste. Keep it, enjoy it for what it is - the dream car.
I've got an uncle who is into whiskey. We used to gift him a bottle for Christmas or his birthday until we found out he never drinks it. He's thinking too much about the value of that bottle of whiskey to actually enjoy it but it is meant to be drunk and it is meant to be enjoyed. Apparently Mr. Regular is the same way about cars. I don't understand that mentality. It's a god damn car! Yes, it will get a scratch here and there; yes, it will get dented by some idiot who whacks his car door against it; yes, the interior will wear. Stop worrying about stuff like that! Shit will happen to it, that's how it is. I've had my parked car hit-and-run'd during the first week of owning it, scratching and denting the whole left side of the car. I've had my windscreen crack after a small stone hit it on the Autobahn the week after. But it is still my car and I drive and enjoy it every single day. These things I've listed are simply a part of ownership. I feel the same way about my phone. I destroyed my S4's screen while working a few years ago and had to resort to using an old flip phone for two months while I was saving money to fix it. It sucked but it was wear-and-tear that got to it. You can never ever keep something you own in tip-top condition and you'll have to accept that. You'll never enjoy something that you're too afraid to use. TL;DR It's a car. It's meant to be driven. It's meant to be enjoyed.
Not sure if RUclips and Patreon money is still enough to get him into the summer-car income bracket. (Or at least having more than one.) I think that's one of the factors into these kind of decisions.
That's what happened when I got a Honda as a gas saver, turned into my hoon car with bad paint and just enjoying it for all its worth while my project car just sits there sad.
Apparently he posted on redditt that he got it roughly two years ago, or he posted on reddit almost 2 years ago, that he just didnt want to announce it when he got it.
My first car was an '86 MR2 with a 20V Blacktop swap. No fifth gear, crap wiring, rough exterior, rough interior, slight head gasket leak, and a cracked trans housing. I'm sad to see that you're letting your dream car go, but perhaps you'll find something more drivable for you or even another MR2 that you won't even worry about thrashing. Keep up the fantastic work.
TheManInDboX There's this 1974 Corolla I walk past sometimes on the other side of my college campus. Perfect condition inside and out besides a bit of paint work. I'd love to own one and swap in a modern inline 4. No intention of ever building a sleeper, I just something nice to look at and reliable.
Hurts my heart to see you sell such a awesome little car that you have such affection for. I had a 84 Fiero 2M4 with 20,000 original miles back in high school for my first car. Took amazing care of it all the way until I graduated. Sold the car to someone who said they collected them, come to find out he chopped it up trying to make a lambo knock off, lost interest and scrapped it. Im 31 now but still get super excited whenever I see a Fiero rolling around. Point is i hope this Toyota finds a proper good home and owner, and doesn't end up the same way my Pontiac did.
That's why I'll never have a pristine, stock version of the car I want. I want a dirty, horrible, near-dead piece of rolling garbage which I fix my self; and if I do that... I won't care nearly as much when something horrible goes wrong; it will be the perpetual project car and I'm fine with that. I'll save the nice ones for people who can take care of them
I want a nice car that’s all about being used. Something that gets scratches and dirt. Built to survive and work well, maintained to that standard but not preserved like a museum piece.
J Clark You can never keep your car in perfect showroom condition. It gets used, it'll get damaged in some way. I respect drivers who actually drive and enjoy their cars to the fullest much more than those who baby it every single day.
Bro, Wait! You are doing it backwards and you don't even realise it. This car is your crush, your sweetheart, your pinnacle, the one you care about so much that you know every blemish, every character flaw, would defend to the end, and the one that gives you butterflies for just thinking about going on a date. But right now, because you already have a dependable partner( Vagabond Falconess ) that you have already been intimate with(dripping tranny going deep V8) , you are too afraid to actually embrace your true love for fear of reality not living up to the dream. You got this one even though you had all your bases covered and there were plenty of objectively better alternatives. Why, because this one is special. You are never really with someone if you don't make a mark, and have never been if they don't make a mark. Right now you are courting the IDEA of your pinnacle, firmly choosing to keep yourself in friend zone, while the real thing is staring you in the eyes screaming "I'm yours, just take me" in the way only a car with popup headlights can. The only way you can truly make that mutual mark that opens up the path for real bonding and growth, potentially destruction, but ultimately the truth, is to consumate the relationship. How? By becoming exclusive and throwing away self imposed limitations. Ride each other hard beyond any measure of practicality, to where you both need to physically change so as to better unite (new daily) . Make that change happen. It's not real until you are both sore, bloody, and can say you got fucked. I recommend you begin by tapping that glass, demolishing that rear, laying some pipe, and some new muffles to boot. Dont forget some tight hand made leather for the knob/shaft. It's better to have loved and lost, than never to have forgave yourself. Don't become Mr. Best Corvette farmer. That car is white for a reason, your BROWN! Become the BROWN! Embrace your BROWN! ALL HAIL FINK!
keep it! drive it whenever you feel fine with it... dont neglect yourself cause you "dont want to be THAT guy" be whatever you want if that makes you happy, if you have a nice thing I dont see the problem of trying keeping it that way
I understand wanting to keep it nice, but it's just an MR2, it's not a worth 6 figures, just drive the damn thing. But if you can't then yes you should sell it to someone who will.
The problem with getting a car that's super nice is that you never want to drive it, you want to keep it as perfect as you can. In my opinion the best cars are the ones you buy and at the time don't care about, but end up loving. That way you love the car but your also not afraid to drive the snot out of it, because you've already been there and done that. You know what the car can and cannot handle and it becomes more of a traveling buddy than just a box to get you places or a trophy to flaunt
you remind me when i take out my grandfather's 86 JDM celica GT. i kept in in the garage for 3 years after it got restored. just this year i had enough balls to take it out. please mr regular, don't sell it. you look very responsible. the only guy i know that cleans their shoes before entering their car besides me is you. you'll regret it when a ricer or an idiot crash it and you'll find it in a salvage auction. you'll just let it go that easy? it's a super white II! don't let it die, these cars normally don't find a better home
I previously owned an 88' MR2 in white with the t-top, a/c and power everything, but my gray Toyota alloy wheels were the exact same as my 87' Corolla FX16 GT-S. I upgraded the exterior by having the mirrors painted white, purchasing the 89' supercharged MR2 smooth door handles (having them painted white) and purchasing the 89' MR2 supercharged rear spoiler with the LEDs (having it painted white with the factory silver stripe), because I'm my opinion, they looked better than the black door handles and the single light under the rear spoiler when I was single. I really enjoyed it the time I had it. Everything changed after I married my wife and had daughters. I went from driving awesome 3 pedal 5 speed manual transmission sports cars to driving a 2 pedal 8 passenger minivan. I did not see that coming.
I had a mint 60k mile first gen Miata. I was the second owner. First owner kept it garaged AND covered in the garage. I drove it for 4 years but was always afraid to park it. I bought a new BRZ but kept the Miata. Both were garaged, and I'd stare longingly at the Miata every day as I walked past it and got in the BRZ instead. So feeling like the car was not being appreciated, I sold it. New owner didn't even have a garage. I was heartbroken. I tried to contact the guy a year later to buy it back, but no luck. Ended up buying a far from mint 95M, which is nice, but just isnt the same. Maybe thats a good thing. Its all scratched up already, so no worries.
There is something so much fun about owning a car you can relax in and enjoy for what it is instead of something that gives you anxiety every time you drive it or park it anywhere. I get it.
I understand entirely. I didn’t wanna part with my Alfa. I wanted to keep it and fix it up, but college took all my money and I knew that when I got out, it wouldn’t be saveable because the place I had it kept in would rot it away. So... I took a $1500 and sold it to someone who would love and cherish it, and actually ended up restoring it within 4 months, and I made a new friend in the process. Now I’ve found an AW11 with almost the same situation (1 owner, 110K miles, little rust, and mostly original) and I can’t wait to see where it takes me.
This is an older video, but I hope this comment catches your attention somehow. As someone who is in the same boat with a VERY similar car(1988 Celica Alltrac with 46K on the clock, in the same color combination as this MR2), I get protective of it. Very protective. I've put so much time, energy, and money getting this car to where it should be that I'm a bit scared to drive it. At the same time, I owned another one of those years ago and sold it for a mix of practical reasons and stupid reasons. I kicked myself. I kicked myself for years, and when I found it for sale years later, neglected and battered, I was gutted when the deal went through and it slipped through my hands. I somehow lucked into the one I have now; I flew out 1300mi to buy it and had it shipped back. I ended a relationship to get this car, I stretched every financial resource I had as far as it could go in order to make it happen. I realized a little while ago that I had a choice to make. I could let this car sit and never touch it except for special occasions, I could try selling it, or, well... I could drive it. And that's what I did. Instead of letting it sit, I decided to get in and drive. Parts might be as rare as unicorn spit and if some jackhole texting in their SUV hits me I won't likely be able to restore it; I find that it doesn't scare me off from starting it up a couple of times a week and taking it in to work and on errands. Driving this car puts me in touch not only with my inner little kid that used to be transfixed by these 4th-gen Celicas, the AW11, and the MA70 Supra... but also that fresh out of high school me; the one who had the pristine '86 Celica GT-S that was my first taste of freedom until the engine went boom and I was forced by my folks to sell it on. Driving this car puts a smile on my face, even if I'm taking it into the office for a crappy day at work. I completely get why you sold this gem, as I can't say it hasn't crossed my mind from time to time. Especially if you don't think you're giving it as good a home as you think you should. I'm sure you were gutted over the decision to do this, and I know that practicality wins out over nostalgia. However, at the same time there are people out there, crazy people like me that will take a crack at running these cars in a sea of crossovers and SUVs; allowing people to catch a glimpse of what it was like back in the days where these cars really did rule the roads. A flash of Miami Vice in the middle of the reality TV desert. Letting people know that a little piece of that nostalgia is still out there. These are the real time machines. And, sometimes, that's what it's all about.
I took a look at the listing, this has to be one of the most detailed for-sale pages that I've ever seen. It's sad to see Wendy go, but your attention to detail and honesty will ensure that she goes to a home with an owner who appreciates the work that you put into her to keep her in top form.
I have a pro tip for getting over the nervousness of owning a dream car: buy one with cosmetic imperfections and just leave them if you can. I bought my dream car, a zzw30, months ago with a cracked windshield , some chewed up wheels, and some dinged up headlights- and I just left them that way. I'm much less nervous anyone will steal it, and any new minor chip I notice from inattentive old folks in the parking lot or debris is no problem at all. I daily my dream car with only about 10% more worry than if I were behind the wheel of the beater I drove before.
A good car is like your favorite desert. Saverured once or twice a week, but not everyday. There was a lot of emotion in this video man. If your dream is not costing you too much, I would hold on to it.
I think you should keep it. Things are meant to be enjoyed; enjoy your MR2. You can just stare at something forever, or you can actually use it and have fun.
I can hear the sadness in your voice mr regular. I feel your pain. I have a love for Mk3 VW Golf hatchbacks in the tornado red color as that was my first car. It pained me when I scrapped it, even though it was a beater that cost me just 400 bucks and only lasted me around 8 months as my first car (had a bit of a fender bender and backed it into a Porsche Cayenne, the Porsche turned out fine but my Golf got bent). Cars can hold so much sentimental value.
Nooooooooo! Ive had an MR-2 since I first got my licence when I was 16, drove the piss out of it for 4 years straight, had everything break, fixed everything, blew the motor, bought ANOTHER 1986 MR-2, single owner this time with only 100xxxkm on it, put that motor in the old one, drove the piss out of it again for another year, and just sold it last month, the only reason I could sell it was because I know I have another (which is gonna be getting a new motor this spring, 112hp gets old fast). It's such a forgiving car once you get to know it and such a pleasure to drive! You'll regret selling it the moment you see it leave man!
I would have loved to buy that. I keep strict maintenance and have no issue driving and not worrying about scratches. We all have dents and scratches. I loved that original MR2 design as much as the lotus esprit.
When you got it, I was inspired to get my dream car. Which I did. A manual transmission Peugeot 407 coupe, 2.2l 4-cyl. I got it because I hardly ever drove the car I had before it, but since I got it I have been driving it A LOT. I don't want to save it - I want to enjoy it. The corporate slogan at the time as "Engineered to be enjoyed". That's what I'm doing - and what you weren't doing. And yes - it's a sin.
If I lived in the US, I would buy that and use it as my daily driver. Don't think that it has more power than my 2013 Corolla 1.6, but it sounds so much more fun to drive.
I bought an mr2 mk1a for $600 a couple of months ago, non running. Anyway I got it running, terrible rod knock so I rebuilt the engine entirely (was a first for me). Anyway I just got the engine back in the car with a new crank and new pistons and rings and bearings and all that good stuff. Can’t get it running for whatever reason, it cranks over just fine and I got it to idle at one point but it wouldn’t rev up at all, it was idling at about 300-500 rpm and if you repeatedly smashed on the gas it would maybe climb to 2k. I realized the timing belt was a tooth off on the exhaust cam and I fixed that so it is all on right but now it just won’t fire up at all. It’s so weird, I’ve tried everything and it’s getting fuel and spark, only thing I can think of is maybe the injectors are bad? But it was running and reving (didn’t rev it too high with the knocking) fine with the rod knock before I took it apart. Anyway that’s my AW11, sad to see you’re selling yours.
I have a 1988 MR2 with 90k miles that is cosmetically a shitshow from the prior owner attempting to part it out, followed by it being reassembled with parts from 3 different coloured junkyard cars. But if you wanted a young & fresh MR2 that you wouldn't be affriad to drive, I've been trying to sell it for $3k in Massachusetts. Blue on blue (with grey, white & red panels painted in an attempt to match) 5 speed, Ttops, and 98% stock
I think you should keep it. Not because it'll probably rise in value in the future and it would be a good investment, but because it was your dream car. If you need the space, I can understand that, but if you're worried about it just sitting under a cover only to be driven every once in a while... well... that's better than not having it and then wanting to drive it, or even just look at it for a second. Plus, that car looks quite clean, it's overdue for a few scratches here and there. ;D
Don't sell your dream car even if you don't drive it just keep it as a reminder look at it admire it take it out for a short drive to no where its yours be happy don't over think enjoy
Haha i loved your list of minor defects on a near 40 year old car at the start, meanwhile my AW11 is stripped down to the bare shell and i spent the last 6 months completely rebuilding it from an absolute rust heap :P my 17 year old daily has double the wear and problems your Adub has :)
I remember this generation Toyota MR2. I owned one for one year before selling it for a Toyota Camry. I liked everything about the car except for its cramped passenger compartment.
Whomever buys this, I just had mine Mk1.5 swapped at ATS Racing in Texas. 258 whp on pump, hoping to get 300 whp on flex fuel and that is my max goal right now. I don't want over 300. I highly suggest doing even a basic Mk1.5 swap. It's so worth it.
Dude just keep it and enjoy once a month. It's a survival car. Save it for the future. If you do sell do so only to someone whom loves it as much as you.
I know the feeling. I'm a gun guy and I've had some nearly unfired classic firearms that I bought and then wouldn't fire . They ended up being safe queens. Thats a sin too.
Mr Regular sounds so sad in this video. Always sucks to give away a car you love.
On the verge of tears in about the 5 minute marks from the looks of things. Sucks that he wants to sell it.
May or May not have shed a tear.
Sad, I remember when you got it, you wrote a really nice piece for it.
It will be missed
I can understand his reasons though, I have a guitar that is WAY nicer than anything I should have. Between not really playing well enough to justify having it, and the fact I'm too paranoid about damaging it, I almost feel guilty for keeping it when it would be much better off in someone elses hands.

lol ok then
In reality RegularCars killed the bloke who leaned against the MR2 at the Jalopnik car show and is now trying to offload evidence.
Extra Fabulous ha, some dude feels like mega guilty now for ruining Mr Regular's relationship with Wendy
TK 'She's tainted now!'
patrick carey he was like someone else touched you i cant even look at u the same anymore
YEAH NO, GO AHEAD. JUST LEAN ON MY CAR
I thought you just got that thing
Stephen right ??
Stephen a year or two my ass. He's still a 17 year old kid at heart.
I'm guessing we'll be waiting "a year or two" for a video about the Forrester that replaced Sally.
Maybe two years? ITS BEEN SIX MONTHS. YOURE GOING THROUGH CARS LIKE LARRY KING GOES THROUGH WIVES
No, he's said he's had it two years on Reddit. He said he just waited a while to post the announcement video.
TechnoProdigy well the Larry king thing still stands. Lol
More like how Alex Kersten of CarThrottle goes through 200 dollar cars
TechnoProdigy, that would make no sense, he just got his Falcon restored middle of last year and had the Fit for 2 years before that, the Echo was the starter car before the Fit, so why would he have THREE cars and only tell us about the 2 over a 2 year period?? Midnight Mechanic I don’t know man, Mr Regular has said it himself on Reddit. I’m inclined to trust the owner of the car to know how long he had it.
The autozam changed you

Buy an imperfect one and use the heck out of it
hahahah
Doing the same with my G37. Really want the car to be perfect forever, but I've left scratches to force myself to accept it's a cheap daily.

MR2 unveil 22/06/2017, sale video 07/12/2017 wtf
Mr. R already had it for a few months before the first video IIRC. Still, no fuckin' way it's been a year!
Apparently he posted on redditt that he got it roughly two years ago, or he posted on reddit almost 2 years ago, that he just didnt want to announce it when he got it.
Dunno why though.
This is confusing me. Why the fuck is an old MR2 so secretive. When he unveiled it it seemed like he just recently got it
I can understand Mr R wants privacy, just the timeline doesn't seem to make sense
Tell us all about those QUIRKS AND FEATURES
Ian Huff Here's why the Toyota MR2 is worth $1.5 million
How you gon do wendy like that........

That clearly got emotional for you during the drive. Hopefully it goes to a home that will respect it. Good luck with the sale.

My first car was an '86 MR2 with a 20V Blacktop swap. No fifth gear, crap wiring, rough exterior, rough interior, slight head gasket leak, and a cracked trans housing. Mk1.5 as in the clipper cabriolet vw? got an '88 as my first car and its been nothing but memories
TRM Films MK1.5 refers to a MK1 MR2 with a 3SGTE swapped from a MK2.
haha sorry for the confusion man lol
2 years? Seems more like 2 months.
towert7 His new car introduction video was five months ago.
In a few days we'll be playing "Where's Wendy" like we're trying to find Carmen Sandiego.
Keep it. Treasure it. Maintain it. Please don't sell it.

I'll save the nice ones for people who can take care of them
I want a miata where the headlight cover is missing and the paint is faded so I don't feel bad driving in the winter.
Buy a Toyota Like a Man,WTF i see more Girls in Toyota's than men.it's not going to be your car,why do you care?
DON'T sell it, you will always regret selling it and you will miss the car! What if some idiot decides to plastidip it completely BROWN!?
Jonathan R BROWN RROWN BROWN
Beautiful
Gearbox is probably ruined after 2 years with Mr. Regular
Are you trying to be takumi? You're wearing New Balances
TDA DyronMax No he just has a big di-

DONT STOP THE MUSIC TONIGHT
NO. HE'S WEARING THEM BECAUSE IT ALLOWS HIM TO GIVE HIM THE BUSINESS.
WEEABOO WEEABOO WEEABOO
tbh I kinda want a pair but I don't know which ones
keep it! drive it whenever you feel fine with it... dont neglect yourself cause you "dont want to be THAT guy" be whatever you want if that makes you happy, if you have a nice thing I dont see the problem of trying keeping it that way
maybe he needs the money
then his a f... liar. He's saying that he dont want to the car just sitting in a garage. Dont think he lies though
It's nice that it's basically all original right down to the mostly working tape deck.
Shit the tape deck dont work? Im out!
im not crying
KoKoKen No, you are
I understand wanting to keep it nice, but it's just an MR2, it's not a worth 6 figures, just drive the damn thing. But if you can't then yes you should sell it to someone who will.
That's what I was trying to say with my earlier, shitty opinion. Yeah, it's your dream car, but it's just an MR2..
It's honestly not worth 5 figures
The problem with getting a car that's super nice is that you never want to drive it, you want to keep it as perfect as you can. In my opinion the best cars are the ones you buy and at the time don't care about, but end up loving. That way you love the car but your also not afraid to drive the snot out of it, because you've already been there and done that. You know what the car can and cannot handle and it becomes more of a traveling buddy than just a box to get you places or a trophy to flaunt
you remind me when i take out my grandfather's 86 JDM celica GT. i kept in in the garage for 3 years after it got restored. just this year i had enough balls to take it out. please mr regular, don't sell it. you look very responsible. the only guy i know that cleans their shoes before entering their car besides me is you. you'll regret it when a ricer or an idiot crash it and you'll find it in a salvage auction. you'll just let it go that easy? it's a super white II! don't let it die, these cars normally don't find a better home
hard to go wrong with a 1980s Toyota, great era for the company's products
I have been looking for an AW11 MR2 like this forever and if I do get it I promise to cherish this thing like there is no tomorrow
Thank you!
Mr. Regular, I agree with you for your reason on wanting to sell it. There is nothing sadder than a driver's car sitting under a car cover for years.
Next Hoovie's Garage video.....

To bad it’s not the same model as tavarish MR2
Great comment. Worth saving
I took a look at the listing, this has to be one of the most detailed for-sale pages that I've ever seen. It's sad to see Wendy go, but your attention to detail and honesty will ensure that she goes to a home with an owner who appreciates the work that you put into her to keep her in top form.
That car is a collector's item because it's very rare. You are so lucky to have it.
you just got it though!
The same tape deck came in Australian KE70 Corolla's.
It's quite sad actually
A good car is like your favorite desert.
Saverured once or twice a week,
but not everyday.
There was a lot of emotion in this video man. If your dream is not costing you too much, I would hold on to it.
Why did you take “Reviews” out of your channel name?
It was never there to start with. The video titles usually say "Regular Car Reviews", but the channel name has always been "RegularCars".
Guess he now understands those boomers who keep their Corvette inside a bubble in their garage.
It feels like you just got it but he's on the DL owned it for 2 years, LMAO
trickyhero. Most here don't seem to realize that.
if they browse the comments enough..they'll know.
I feel this is where The Roman’s “Inside of You” comes to play
I just purchased a 87 MR2.. can’t believe I could still own one!
Good luck with sale! Glad you were able to enjoy the AW11 for a year. BaT rejected mine, but I have a feeling you'll get a wonderful result.
You lived the dream, man. Buy something you can have fun in each time you get behind the wheel.
My first car was an '86. I loved it. I hope yours finds a good home.
Now you can buy that '85 Plymouth horizon you fell in love with.
Which would also be too perfect to drive regularly.
Im trying to buy this. If I get it, im keeping it 100%, clean. and going to drive it every other day
Oh man people are going to be dying to get their hands on that beauty.
I would have loved to buy that. I keep strict maintenance and have no issue driving and not worrying about scratches. We all have dents and scratches. I loved that original MR2 design as much as the lotus esprit.
Mr. Regular don't cry. Keep it
It's good to see, that you can tell that your not giving the car the life it deserves.
Don't get rid of it! You need to push yourself to drive it and enjoy it.
You sounded like you were gonna cry
When you got it, I was inspired to get my dream car. Which I did. A manual transmission Peugeot 407 coupe, 2.2l 4-cyl. I got it because I hardly ever drove the car I had before it, but since I got it I have been driving it A LOT. I don't want to save it - I want to enjoy it. The corporate slogan at the time as "Engineered to be enjoyed". That's what I'm doing - and what you weren't doing. And yes - it's a sin.
FINALLY!!!
A videos without Romans voice
Hope the next car you buy gets you on the road without you worrying about it so much. 😊
Cant wait to get my hands on it stance it out, rip the interior out for weight reduction, and do redline launches! 😁
If I lived in the US, I would buy that and use it as my daily driver. Don't think that it has more power than my 2013 Corolla 1.6, but it sounds so much more fun to drive.
Similar shift knob and cover are easily found, and I doubt new floor mats are much harder.
Great car.
Best I can do is $1000
Mike Wollinger Rick Harrison voice- How about 50 bucks that’s the most I can do.
If I could I would buy that car in a micro second. The Mrk1 MR2 is what turned me into a car guy.
I hope this beautiful MR2 finds a good home.
I live in PA and I want it but college is coming and just like Mr.Regular said: its too precious to own it.
Plus, that car looks quite clean, it's overdue for a few scratches here and there. ;D
If I may be so bold, all that glitters isn't gold. I'm sure someone will buy this up soon.
Mr. Regular, you're a good person.
Ya know, its just fine. This is the engine that kids like.
Don't sell your dream car even if you don't drive it just keep it as a reminder look at it admire it take it out for a short drive to no where its yours be happy don't over think enjoy
*i will buy this and swap a 13b into it.*
daybreaK No... Don't...
Keep it stock
In a long enough timeline...
Nope k24 or 3sgte
daybreaK wouldn't that destroy the handling?
Guess I'm late to the party on this one. Love those little guys. Nice to see you're sharing it and made a nice amount of money too!
I thought I saw it on bring a trailer this morning! I did a double take like "hey that looks familiar!"
Mr2 4ever bro. Good luck.
Just follow your heart, even when we are just talking about a car.
Haha i loved your list of minor defects on a near 40 year old car at the start, meanwhile my AW11 is stripped down to the bare shell and i spent the last 6 months completely rebuilding it from an absolute rust heap :P my 17 year old daily has double the wear and problems your Adub has :)
Dude, I enjoy your show. Keep your car, man up and drive it. Keep the content coming!
I remember this generation Toyota MR2. I owned one for one year before selling it for a Toyota Camry. I liked everything about the car except for its cramped passenger compartment.
1 maybe 2 years??? What?? You revealed it 5 months ago. Am I missing something here?
Whomever buys this, I just had mine Mk1.5 swapped at ATS Racing in Texas. 258 whp on pump, hoping to get 300 whp on flex fuel and that is my max goal right now. I don't want over 300. I highly suggest doing even a basic Mk1.5 swap. It's so worth it.
Wow honest overview. You're not trying to hide anything...or are you!
Best of luck in your future endeavors.
