It could be said that metal is "angry" music, but I find it hilarious that it could be used as a super weapon. Well written, and definitely an original idea

silly but a great story well narated!
Thought it would end up being some guitar solos that totally decimated the enemy.
A clever departure from the norm, though finding and utilizing the specific frequencies that were most effective would be more practical than random heavy metal. Personal sonic weapons then become effective, overall, it lacked substance. A concussion bomb would accomplish the same effect, even tuned to specific multiple frequencies without having to subject your own soldiers to heavy metal crap.
The chaoticness is the point. Anything can get used to a regular noise
You could build an MP3 player into any configuration - including a gun with the speaker in the barrel. Then you could have "levels" ranging from mild or stun to incapacitate depending the song type it is set to

Once the aliens build a defense against heavy metal, humanity can be saved by Slim Whitman singing, "Indian Love Call" -- it's bound to do in almost anybody.
there is some horrible Swedish 80s music out there, some that contaminated radiowaves in my youth whould be enough to defend against any alien. wont contaminate this buard with names

YT recommended this channel a day or so ago and this is the second 'reading' I've listened to. The first one was well read, and got me to subscribe. Who ever the narrator is for this story, sounds like he is trying to sell me a used car. I couldn't get past 45 seconds. YMMV.

@@StarboundHFYInteresting story. Sounds like an attempt by heavy metalists to justify their music. I do have one criticism/complaint. Throughout the story you only mentioned the use of ear plugs once. For the plan of sonic battles to work you need hearing protection. If you don't have it, you will have a deaf population that wouldn't be able to later listen to the music, let alone appreciate it.
It's the details that make the difference between a good and a great story. I will listen to your other stories now that I have discovered you.
