@@MRsolidcolor There's that, but there's also the fact of not caring about anyone else's life when the main character has nothing left to lose. When you have nothing left to lose, you bring down everyone else around you while you fall. That behaviour is efficient, potent, and dangerous. Don't do it when you have lots to lose.
Note: I write the following not as criticism but as advice. I'm an experienced, published writer of over 40 novels and it's not my intent to deride or abuse anyone. "Humanity has never bowed to overwhelming odds" - You're not a Historian, I guess. A 'smirk' is always humourless - it's a smug, conceited baring of teeth, not a smile. "Can I kill them before they kill me?" - 'No, kill them when you're dead', should have been the reply. Sarcasm is the first resort to a dumb question! So, exactly how old is 'Dimitrov' that he was born before and served in the 'forgotten wars'? And if they're 'forgotten', why isn't he? "here to give a damn about honor." - Who mentioned 'Honor' to Dimitrov? The aliens didn't, his commander didn't... "A Predatory, disconcerted hush" - Predators don't feel disconcerted until after combat has started... when they've tested each others strengths and weaknesses. It's what makes them Predators. So, it's not a 'Gladiatorial' battle... the fact that Dimitrov had to face an armed and armoured opponent without a weapon (except the one he 'scavenged') gives lie to the statement the Axions initially made about skill and honor. "Earth doesn't play by your rules"; What 'rules' - do we have a list? Are they contestable? Who enforces them? In summary - although I've highlighted a few of the many inconsistencies and grammatical errors... it's a decent story. A little more attention to detail wouldn't go amiss but overall, I enjoyed it and I hope you do to.

These are all bits and pieces of narrative not of logically composed story but pieces to make it, it. The words are more than their meanings and are there to signify something greater. Something which someone of 40 novels would and should understand. Which is also ironic considering the story was about logical algorithms fighting against something broken, twisted and incomprehensibly more than what you can understand.
Fun tale, but the full truth of human behavior is something different. For one thing, we are our own worst enemy. As Ripley observes in the film, Aliens, “…you don’t see them f’ing each other over for a G.D. percentage!”. For another thing, defiance behavior transitions to pragmatic acceptance, in the face of defeat. Sure, there always are some dead-enders, but those tend to be the minority. In other words, we adapt to the circumstances. Which is, itself, a survival behavior. Probably, the most important and difficult one.
Seriously? First defeats an armored behemoth using a scrap of metal he took off the transport ship? Next, he knows where the pressure point is to completely disable an alien that he’s never seen before ? And it completely disables it? Yep, I’m done listening.
I'm certainly not advocating for AI narration and writing, but this is far too complex and nuanced to be an AI generated story. Narrated? Sure. That much is obvious. But I've both written my own novel and messed with AI. The writing is undoubtedly human, unless the AI got so much more poetic then it was before (or had help of some kind).
@@stonewoodstudios It's way too repetitive (with the same words and phrases no less) for it not to be A.I. generated. I'm not saying he chose the 1st draft, probably took a few prompts, but way too repetitive.

Humanity wouldn't go down, and their defiance would be contagious. No empire is eternal, and all empires crumble from the inside. The Axion would face revolts, civil unrest, internal power struggles, scapegoating and dissent. That broadcast would be their undoing.

The worst enemy is the one who has nothing to lose.
My experience in SCUM has proven that the worse enemy is a Noob in Orange. 😁
Aliens: Those nano machines are dope, senator! Can I have some?
Armstrong: What nano machines?
Daaaaaayyyyyuuuuuuumm! That goes hard man

what's to lose if everything but life is lost. and when life isn't worth the effort..
