    If I do a hypnosis video again i'll be sure to put a lot of work in proving the person isn't faking it. Valid point. Thanks for commenting :)

  • @stevenbridges
    @stevenbridges  11 лет назад

    This was thrown together fairly quickly, when i've got more time i'll make a 'proper' hypnosis vid and by the end of it you'll be sure it's legit. Yeah it's a weird thing but it's all about how I frame it to Richard. If he woke up and couldn't move he'd be damn terrified but i've spent time (off camera) making sure he understands what's going to happen and that it's all safe. Doing the whole 'teapot' thing is further to reinforce to him he should take it lightly. :)

    I like to keep the secrecy in magic. When people know how the trick is done there is no magic. If you're interested in learning magic I recommend a few great books etc on my website :) Thanks for subscribing, hope you enjoy my vids.

    Something I may do is where I make someone uncontrollably laugh at my command. When you see someone laugh like that you realise there's no way they could fake that level of hysterics. :)

    A great video. Sad there hasn't been more. Very deft and efficient hypnotist. You could have even been slightly more mischievous (such as leaving a body part cataleptic for a few more seconds). Awesome subject too.

    +StevenBridges What would happen if you put him into that state, told him he couldnt move, and then put some kind of imminent danger near him? Would he break out of his suggestible state in order to prevent from being harmed?

    I was very careful with my wording to ensure he continued to breath. Absolute worst case scenario is he passes out and then starts breathing immediately however most of the time the need to breath would break the hypnosis long before that point. :)

    It does not work on everyone and even if it did work on you, the person could just say a command and you'd never remember being hypnotized. I've seen this done. About 1 in every 10 people on stage weren't able to be hypnotized and the others that were had no memory of it. One woman while under hypnosis offered to buy everyone drinks but when I asked her about it after the show she had no idea what I was talking about. It was funny as hell watching her freak out when I told her what she said.

    You should do more hypnotism with your friends and bigger tricks like that where he could not move his whole body. Also you should show the whole process of hypnotizing someone

  • @residue102
    @residue102 11 лет назад

    Look at a clip by a hypnotist magician named "Marc Savard". The clip is called something like hypnosis gone wrong. It's like he hypnotized a guy to dance when he hears a clap, then he is with like ten ppl, working on a different guy but then the audience claps and you see this guy start dancing as though his body is disconnected from his mind or something. Proves it though IMO...

    From what i have learned in the hypnosis dept...it's a lot harder to hypnotise those that "know" you than those that don't. This is due to the person HAVING to believe that you are confident/capable and unswerving in "their" belief that you can do this.
    The fact that he did it with a friend should show MORE competence in his abilities and i applaud him ;)
    It should be a lot harder (in other words)
    Jas

  • @stevenbridges
    @stevenbridges  11 лет назад

    Yes of course :) I learned pretty much purely through The New Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism by Ormond McGill. Quite a pricey book but it really does contain everything you need to know. That is pretty much the only thing I've learned from. I know a couple hypnotists so we've chatted about specifics and i've been hypnotised and that helped... but really, that book, Hypno Bible.

      Dismade As a Hypnotist that entertains & teaches nationwide (and has a name a channel to prove it), I can confirm it’s Waking Hypnosis.
      One of the first versions I learned was from Joe Brogie’s Mind Eraser. You’re taught scripts to make certain people forget information (their name, age, etc) by stressing certain words in a certain order as you speak.
      Hypnosis is a fascinating subtopic of psychology!
