Thank you Kelly, on my last newlasts treatment day I mentioned my rings felt tight. The provider thought I had a blood clot and wanted me to have a test. Nothing showed. I went to radiation and the nurse said "oh that's just lymphedema". No one ever told me anything like this could happen. No one told me what to watch out for if didn't advocate for myself and be persistent about my condition I dont know what might have happened. When I mentioned this to the surgeon's nurse she said "oh we're just worried about the cancer". I am a 16 year survivor and have had a flexi touch machine for 15 years. I am so thankful for this device and the wonderful therapists who have helped my all these years. I have made it my mission to inform people that lymphedema can happen. Doctors need to make patients aware of this and connect them with lymphedema therapists just as a precaution. If this had been my case the outcome may have been different. Thank you for your weekly informative video's. I am still learning about this cronic condition.

What is a flexi touch machine?

@@susanp7251 Hello Susan, a flexi touch machine is a pumping5 device that moves the fluid from the swollen area (my left arm) to the trunk of the body. It has been a life saver for me. I use this device daily, it takes one hour but it is worth every minute. The swelling has been reduced and I can go without a compression sleeve and glove. I realize results vary with each individual but I am so pleased and grateful for this machine. If you have a lymphadema therapist check with her for information on this. I know it is very costly, but insurance helped to pay some of the cost, worth every penny.
