Your hootsuite image shows 1200 for long edge on facebook yet you recommend 2048 SHORT EDGE for face book????? What should I use for long edge landscape FB?
Great video Joy! Have you run across any solution that will allow you to have the file name overlaided when you export? I'd like viewers of my various FB pages to be able to request a print and having the actual file name would be a huge help. I use Lightroom CC and Photoshop.
No actually have all my meta data set. What I was hoping for is a way to have the file name on the print so the viewer would have the actual file name if they wished to order a print. Not sure most people could figure out how to view the metadata. The goal is, look at the image on FB see the file name order a 5”X 7” glossy of their daughter hitting a softball. Light room had that option a while back but now it’s gone.
Good video and I appreciate the info. However, I don't think resolution matters unless you're printing it out. I just experimented and exported the same image 3 times. The first one with 0 resolution, the second with 72 resolution and the third with 300 resolution. They all look identical on my screen.
I often text sneak peeks to my clients...if I have air dropped them to myself and then text them out, does that work or does that distort the photos too?
I think texting sneak peaks is awesome. But whatever text messaging service you use will compress the photo. They will not be getting a full resolution version of whatever you sent them. One way around this and to make sure that the sneak peaks they have are Hi-Resolution would be to send their gallery even just a sneak gallery
Click bait thumbnail!!! Stop using the wrong icons when it comes to apps. LRc is one platform and LR is a different one, I'm not interested in LRc but in LR!
I would add them to drop box//google drive or Airdrop to get them onto my phone. But you can also just export to desktop and upload to the fb desktop version
Such a great explanation, thank you so much!
Glad this helped you, Amanda!
Thank you for these videos! They are helping me so much ! I have had sooo much frustration with exporting until now!

Thanks!! You can name the file anything or/and add metadata to any image - is that what you’re looking to do?

Do you give vendors the hi-res images or the settings you use for social media?
Yes I provide high res through the gallery and the gallery allows low res downloads if they want that for social media
Do you crop your photos for Instagram (4 x 5) before you export or just leave them original size and just use the export settings?
I leave it and do my cropping right on instagram itself
I save my images in a folder in One Drive and then use my phone to post the images to instagram. Are my images then compressed?
From what I’ve read, no, one drive doesn’t compress 👍🏼 which is great
4:41 But on Hootsuite i dont see 2,048 pixles❗❗❗
The scheduler?
@@Joymichelle yes
@@darbaz1192 Your size will depend on the platform you plan to use it on. :)

Want best quality for WhatsApp statuses
i thought FB will be long edge 2048?
You are right! The graphic shares the different sizes for various social platforms but I believe I misspoke on the fb one.
