Is no one talking about how one of Huggy Wuggy’s biggest attributes was that he’s obedient? Wouldn’t that imply that someone, or something, is telling him to harm the player? They could be controlling him to do things because he’s engineered to listen and obey
That tracks but my theory is that because they have no one to follow orders by, likely being their method of suppressing "the darkness" inside them, they eventually became violent. However. I wouldnt put it past the devs for that to be a story line
This theory makes so much sense considering the main character we play as is able to use the GrabPack just like any other regular worker of the Production Area would.
The theory of the player's name being Jamie B Honey makes a lot of sense, because there's literally a bee toy in production at Playtime Co. and the cutout for it says, "You need to get out of here."
The last name being the Production team leader, who also tortured them, does make sense in why the letters were on the floor. They wanted his name destroyed most because he tortured them more than the others did.
My own theory is that the prototype is actually made using an adult. That's why it would be far more intelligent than the other toys that were brought to life. If the others were made with children, they would actually be less aggressive and more obedient and more willing to cooperate with the staff there.
The prototype is actually pressumed to be made using Eliot Ludwig remains as he did die before the prototype was made making him the most suitable candidate as well as he is the person who basically started the whole project. And also you can explain his hostility by taking into the fact that Eliot either didn't want to be turned into a toy or disagreed with the method in where they used orphans as test subjects. Which also explains why huggy is hostile to us as huggy is obedient to his master which is Eliot Ludwig meaning that he still has control over him as the protype.
For anybody that hasn't figured this out yet. The noises you hear after you leave the first two games are Mommy in a rage killing bunzo and the mini-wuggies, it took me a couple plays but you can actually see bunzo and the wuggies in her webs back in the game station, so she's actually a lot more angry than she makes out when we win the games
One thing I noticed about Poppy’s design was that her main theme was red hair and blue bows. For those who don’t know, blue bows and ribbons are symbolic to those who were victims of child abuse. If Poppy really was Elliot’s adopted daughter, then his violence towards his daughter could give us a hint as to why he was perfectly okay with using children as test subjects.
Has anyone pointed out the flower imagery of this game? I've never played, but Poppy flowers are a theme, and many of the enemies in the game relate to nature (the caterpillar-esque creature, Mommy Longlegs, etc) and also Makayla's last name is Hyssop, which is another type of flower. Kinda sounds like cultivation and kinder*garden*... cultivation.
There are a lot of names associated with nature actually. Stella (star) Greybur (burrs of various sorts are a common weed). Makayla Hyssop as you mentioned. Lots of animal or insect mascots and even a dinosaur! Jamie B Honey would fit right in.
You know I was rewatching the gameplay, and when our character dies, it tells us to “Get up”, it says “You can take it”, “Don’t die just yet”, and a lot of others things that signal to me that we are recounting what we’ve said to others, the children. It sounds like we’re talking to the children while torturing them, antagonizing them. This is just my small theory/thought while watching the gameplay.
Oooh interesting. I thought it was just the souls in the toys trying to torture us because we cannot be dead yet until their tragic stories are discovered
It's also seem like the red screens might be parrotibg things we or someone else in power have said to us, with the whole "they are just hungry" thing, unless those are somehow meant to be from the children's point of view
6:58 As Mat says in the newest Poppy episode, the big Mommy was made before the little toy versions, so she was probably called Mommy Long Legs because the kids would call her Mommy “because she was the closest thing they ever had to one”
I'm surprised Mat didn't acknowledge that the two notes we find about the child assessment end abruptly, as if the proctors were interrupted by something.
Mini Theory: The Red Death Messages are things that the Player remembers hearing from when they worked at Playtime. "They're just hungry, The Prototype has saved us, and Isn't he wonderful, INNOVATION IS KEY, and MAY WE FORGET DEATH" are likely things Elliot has told the player to justify the monstrosities he was making, and the experimentation on the orphans. "HE IS LOOSE, and THIS IS AN EMERGENCY LOCKDOWN" is what the Player remembers hearing when the Prototype went rogue.
Makes me wonder if we are an experiment in a sense. The scientist at the end of chapter 1's final tape says "one breakthrough and I'll be back" Or something close to it. In a sense, we figured out HOW to come back from death it seems.
Are you guys seriously trying to connect RESPAWNING to the lore?! Like what, are we supposed to only have one chance to beat it and if we die, we can't play it again?! Of course respawning doesn't have a connection to lore, it's essential to make players not quit after 1 failed attempt! Sorry that this was a rant, it just infuriated me that anyone could possibly think respawning could be connected to the lore
@@thehotwheelsreviews Dark Souls had respawning connected to the lore. 12 minutes had it connected to the lore. Various other games have respawning connected to the lore. It's not outside the realms of possibility, and besides, we have sentient walking toys that want to eat your face. How is this surprising in any sense? It's fair to think it's not likely, but it is a possibility you shouldn't disregard, no matter how much you dislike the idea.
After looking back at all the theories so far. I think the prototype is NOT Elliot Ludwig. I think it’s Pierre, the head of innovation. “INNOVATION IS KEY” is very much something he would say bc he was so obsessed with his experiments, and he feels like he would be chaotically mad enough to continue after being shifted.
This does make me curious how Kissy Missy seems less hostile than the other toys. Maybe her conditioning didn't follow through to obedience? I hope we get more clearance about her in the next chapter.
Or maybe we didn’t harm Kissy like the others, and if we are trying to atone for our sins Kissy might be the reason we regret our actions. Or, another theory, we knew who the child was that we put in Kissy and we feel guilty and now want to help them. Obviously these are all guesses and they’re probs wrong but I wanted to share my thoughts
On an different channel, I heard someone theorized that Kissy Missy is still watching an bunch of orphans that didn't get turn into toys, so her murderous behavior is still being suppressed
I think it can be because : 1. She's friendly toward both children and adult. She doesn't need suppression like all the others. 2. She doesn't turn into feral yet just like when huggy gave us key instead of killing us at the first place. 3. Kissy is as smart as Poppy and mommy, not just a killing machine. She wants us to help her to fix everything up.
I feel like the prototype is Elliot Ludwig himself, and the person, voiced by Robin (in the tape with jack) is who took over and began these experiments, it just sounds way too calm for you know everything that’s happened
Fun theory: “Poppy” Playtime may not refer to poppy herself, but maybe to the poppy flowers that were used to “revive” or “create” the toys and failed rat experiments. Just a quick thing I thought of, made sens to me
In the wake scene after the mommy long legs commercial we have those flash backs we know its us because the chase scene BUT WHY ADD THE PARK now you may say its the same park but its not, if you closely look the playground is completely different. So here what I think we indeed do work for the factory but why? maybe we didn't choose we were forced. Using Matts theory that playtime is bringing in kids to experiment on them I believe that we are one of the kids but somehow we A- made a deal with our captor B- they saw our test results and saw more potential in us than a toy, this could explain why we know the factory so well, remember the chase scene with huggy in the vents we knew the vents in and out and it would also explain why we would come back if we know whats been going on (from a hired employee pov) we know the mosters inside and we know they want us but what if we went back to and I hate to pull the fnaf card but to put them to rest, for all we know everyone is still trapped in a toy except us why us why are we here? to finish what was started PLEASE RESPOND WITH YOUR OPINION
It’s funny how he said “maybe it’s Elliot talking” when he’s talking about red messages, then a couple theories later he’s like: *”they turned Elliot into the prototype”*
Us being head of production makes even more sense when you realize that we never make noise in the story (yet). Obviously this could be from a protag perspective of "wanting to keep the game immersive" or something. But when you think about it, as a main person in the company, you would know easier ways to deal with these monsters, I think our character knew they'd encounter monsters, so they try to stay quite as to not draw any attention to themselves.
It makes a lot of sense “Jamie” would be in Production. Consider the previous character, where we had to go to the “make a friend” department. And this chapter, where we had to build our own green hands
I watched all parts of game theory about this game, and it is strange that Matthew never talks about the multiple messages inside the vents during the chase sequenc in chapter 1.
Honestly seeing that the player is the true horror instead of the actual game itself is something that definitely should be looked upon in other games, which can make them more unique. This is something I hope gets looked upon on because future games can have an impact on having some potential with this kind of approach.
That's very vague, it's not like you are scared of the player in this game. So how would you implement this? Do you mean the player is scared of the actions that the protagonists are taking? I experienced that recently in Needy Streamer Overload. If you just mean the player being the villain, that used to be every mediocre RPGmaker horror game. Even Fnaf had you play as the villain if you believe Matpat's Ultimate Custom Night theory.
I’m surprised the talking cutouts weren’t mentioned. They seem to be partly sentient as well. They say ominous things to the player (except Kissy and Daisy I believe) when you keep pressing their buttons. Not only that but you can “feed” Candy Cat until they’re full but if you keep going you can basically hurt or kill or upset (I’m not sure tbh) Candy Cat since they ask you to stop. Boogie Bot’s cutout also says “The button hurts me.” And also says “Am I a real boy?”. Gives me suspicion that some of these cutouts might also be partly alive but also programmed to say lines. But that’s just a theory…A GAME THEORY
After this video i honestly think that maybe the kids that didn't do well in the games at playcare and aren't fit to be in toys just turn into cutouts cuz that's probably the only thing they can do
Wouldn’t it be cool if Poppy Playtime had two endings based on this theory: one where the protagonist rights all the wrongs in the factory and escapes to reveal the truth to the world and one where they bring down the factory and cover up everything.
I have a slight feeling we might be Eliot Ludwig. Why? When mommy said “If anyone should die alone it’s you.” And as we know Eliot Ludwig lost someone close and these toys seem to be after us because of what we have done.
@@valtersh. that doesn’t make sense because for us to be Elliot we would be about 70-80 years old, and I don’t know a lot of 80 year olds that are running and swinging across massive raveanes
Yes but we started a company that ran down hill and know we’ve returned with everyone against us and not Olny that but we could be one of the past workers / co-owners since one of the tunnels sign letters are knocked down
That is very smart but that also means that we aren’t a worker , Eliot or anyone who was a part of the factory but somehow everyone so far has recognised us. That’s very wired because we would not be alive by now so that could mean we are some random person that just went into this factory but the question then remains how , how do the monsters or at least mommy long legs know us and why are they after specifically us.
For those who are trying to figure out the name, here's a tip that Matt doesn't mention in the video. If you look closely at the sign, you can see that the first name has 5 letters and the last name has 6 letters. I learned this from Super Horror Bro so credits to him. Jamie B Honey does work but there might be some other possibilities. I wish you all luck :)
The biggest question that is torturing me in this game is: “ Why are we not dying?” Is there a possibility that someone is always saving us? Or are we Immortal somehow?
I theorized that too. That perhaps the real victims are the toys trying to kill us. Like the other games, they experiment on these orphan children, knowing they didn’t have families to go back to. Those who value other things than the lives of children like Laith Pierre relentless turning them into creatures they play with. They say that when something happens to a child, their soul becomes corrupted by rage and sadness and that’s what happened to these kids - turned monsters. Their furious, sad, but above all ..have absolute hatred for those who did this to them. That the character were playing as- was involved in such horrifying experiments. Maybe a peculiar child got turned into Huggy Wuggy, which is why he attacked us. It would be awesome if it was confirmed. Like Huggy wouldn’t attack anyone else but you because you were involved and their hatred is to see you dead.
Has anyone else thought about the purpose behind CandyCat being overfed? The audio expressed CandyCat being intially excited about the "Candy" But after getting full still ends up getting fed and apparently begging doesn't matter enough to stop for whoever is feeding him So does that mean the "Candy" serves another purpose entirely?
You can also hear in the audio where it expresses CandyCat being very excited and hyper for the candy, which is very similar to children. As we know, little kids have a strange obsession over sugar and energy. We already know about kids being made into toys but I think this is just another clue :) .Bit disturbing though
It was a form of conditioning, candy cat loved candy too much, that they force fed it into the cat, until it couldn't take it anymore, until the cat hated candy, I know it's cruel, but I first hand have seen this form of conditioning being threatened upon children
The name Jamie also makes a lot of sense as it's unisex; it could be applied to any player easily. Also, as much as there are similarities to FNAF, this game has a different feel. Maybe games should have a new genre of "childish horror" or something for games like these lol Edit: changed androgynous to unisex
Yeah, it may have some similarities, but it feels different and so far is complicated enough to give the player and community a challenge in piecing what's going on. but not FNAF level convoluted
Mommy long legs reminds me so much of the other mother/Beldam from Coraline: the fact that she toys with children falsely acting as a “mother”, she loves games but hates cheaters, and has that chilling spider like movement
@@giansibalo6443 When I first saw the hand in my first run through Chapter 2, I connected that as well and almost gave myself a heart attack. That movie scarred me as a chuld.
Scientifically, spiders are actually very affectionate mothers in nature. They are protective, love to cuddle their babies and sometimes will be reluctant at letting their children go similar to a human moms going through empty nest syndrome So I think Mommy Long Legs acting predatorial against the protagonist makes a lot of sense considering she probably really saw the children in the factory as her own children in a way, which is probably why she took it very personally when the children "left her" and so she's focusing all her sadness and anger against the protagonist due to knowing the protagonist most likely had something to do with it. Having the Beldam from the Coraline movie portrayed as a spider woman was definitely no coincidence since it shows how possessive mother spiders can be
I feel like the theory on us being the head honcho himself, is pretty far fetched. Because, at the end of chapter 2, poppy doesn't recognize us. She calls us special and that we can save them. It seems more realistic if we were someone who worked there and is named Jamie B Honey than anything
There's one problem with our character being the head of production: Huggy Wuggy was completely obedient to the staff and wouldn't harm someone as important as the head of production. Plus, our character seems to be confused about most of the stuff inside the factory. I think Mommy Long Legs suspects all employees are guilty, just because they worked there. She's blaming us when we're confused about most of it. We returned to try and save all the missing employees because we want to. I think we're playing as Marcus, the character jackscepticeye played. I think he wanted to find someone he cared about, but they became Kissy Missy, which is why she helps us.
However, I do think that the name for the plate makes sense. Jamie B. Honey, or However he spelled it, does fit the theme of Poppy Playtime. I just don't think we're playing as them.
My take on this is: Poppy doesn’t seem to recognize us, she speaks as if we’re new. Lines like; “You freed me…” “you’re perfect, too perfect to lose.” Etc… As well as being delighted we know how to solve the electricity puzzle in the beginning of Chapter 2. If we were the head of production, we would’ve known about her. Maybe she was in a stasis? Opening her case is what springs her to life, or so it seems. Yet in the letter from the very beginning, it tells us to “FIND THE FLOWER” in bold and underlined. Yes, this may just be for the player. The notes too. Her acting like she isn’t familiar with us while the others are is strange… She hates the experiments, even saying that there were so many wrongs that needed to be righted. That alone makes me believe that we may not be the head of something, so… Why is she so unfamiliar? Why is Mommy the only one who knows that we worked here? My guess? We didn’t pull kids apart and make them into toys. Oh no. We adopted certain kids to send away via Stella’s orders. Mommy says we deserve “to die alone.” She knows us because we would “adopt” kids, she recognizes us because we gave the orphans a hope of having a family. We sent them to die and spend eternity in a toy. The prototype may be Jamie B Honey, continuing the experiments on themselves. Now, I’m no theroist, not by a long shot. But this makes more sense to me. Edit: I absolutely LOVE the questions and other theroies coming from you all! I try to respond and spark more ideas best I can, so by all means. Leave a reply on your thoughts! :)
@@cherry9787 they might have done it after, seeing they were getting old and, after they discovered how, they made themselves into toys to try and live forever?
Theory: Stella Greybur is Kissy Missy. Stella seemed very child-like and friendly to all, both in the VHS tape from Chaper 1 and from the recordings in the game station. Kissy Missy is very friendly and has no desire to attack us, the player. Kissy Missy also seems very child-like and curious. If this theory is true, maybe the reason Kissy Missy/Stella DIDN'T attack us is because she recognized us as her old boss(and maybe as an old friend?) Edit: Stella would probably be the first to speak out when she found out how the kids were being treated, maybe the company manipulated her in some way, and when she found out too much they had to to get rid of her but didn't want any potential to go to waste so they turned her into a toy, and Stella/Kissy's kind nature carried over into her toy form?

I wonder if the game is called “Poppy Playtime” not because of Poppy the character. Rather the role the poppy flowers have in this game? Since they play a huge part in the living toys creation along with all the other side characters uses such as the scientists. As poppy flowers can symbol sleep, peace and also death. Which fit the games themes perfectly. Though, I will warn, poppy flowers can mean much other things depending on which culture we’re talking about.
Theory: It's possible the messages after death are memories of different higher-ups talking to us, the player. Considering the theory that we are the head of production, the white messages all sound encouraging, but if spoken correctly, they could come from Elliot Ludwig, the leader of the factory. His bossy tone and backstory seemingly line up with all previous messages that end in a fade to white. Following that line of thought, the messages fading to red could be Eddie or the Head of Research. All messages that end in red line up with the research side of things so it would make sense.
but, wouldn't he be dead?? he started the company sometime in the mid 1900s (i think) since poppy was made in the 1950s, and tons of experments came before her and huggy wuggy, since the place looks old and very run down, wouldn't he be very old if not dead by now??
Maybe it is because that "These aren't just any children, they're orphans!" could be deciphered as an insult such as "They are not normal, because they are orphans" which is not what matpat meant at all, and the idea of that sentence being read incorrectly with the knowledge of what it is supposed to mean lead to you finding it funny Or its because it was funny
Can we also talk about the elephant in the room here? The toy monsters are not the size of singular children, yet do not appear to be an amalgamation of consciousnesses either. Mommy long legs had a consistent thought process in her delivered lines, as did poppy herself. Did the company cram multiple kids in each and somehow manufacture a brand new mind for each toy?
It can't be ruled out. It seems to be a consistent motif for every monster we have encountered we they have a friendly form and monster form. In their friendly form it seems they are still capable of thought like a normal person, some can even speak, but all demonstrate a form of cognitive understanding. In the monster form they lose that, and only can think like heartless creatures only concerned with feeding.
True but maybe the children are used for the smaller toys the ones they sell to the masses(as blood is seen leaking out and splatterd al around and in them), as those are small but fairly large as far as toys go, so it's possible that some adult specimens we're acquired for the larger 'Toys' such as mommy long legs.
I wonder perhaps if it’s not the larger toys that are made of orphans but perhaps the smaller sold toys (or maybe some kind of medium size ones?) that have kids in them? Perhaps the larger toys like huggy are still made from adults of some kind (employees or otherwise) and those larger toys also are there to control the ones that are smaller/made of children? Basically you use the “expendable” orphans on getting the basics of toy-consciousness combination correct and then you use adults to make a final version that is better suited to be in charge of a larger body and control the other toy creations that have younger undeveloped minds in them.
Poppies represent sleep, peace and death. (In New Zealand, we place poppies over the graves of fallen soldiers, and wear poppy pins to honour them as well :D) So it makes sense why the creators chose to have the poppy flower as the main symbol of the game.
I thought the main reason for poppies being used to honour soldiers was because they were the flowers that grew along the Western Front during WWI. They were a strikingly beautiful sight and a symbol of new life and growth in such a world of death and destruction.
@@kevindowling157 I believe it’s because they were mentioned in the famous poem Flander’s Field where a lot of the fighting in France occurred. The large amount of them and red colour symbolised the blood that had been spilled by all the soldiers that died there.
a random thought, "Jamie B Honey" sounds more like a name for a toy thats supposed to pass as human than an actual human name. what if we were the latest in the many experiments before the factory shut down? What if the factory decided to start making living "toy" workers to run the factory? It would definitely make sense. actual workers would start objecting eventually, maybe even tell the press whats going on. these created workers would be much more obedient and complacent. and WE were the apex of this branch of experimentation and were given a position above the others as a reward. this would also explain the death screens and respawn mechanics, were literally the same as the toys and therefore we are connected to them. and the reason characters like mommy longlegs dont recognise us as being one of them is that we LOOK human. none of the toys do, so they just assume we arent a toy.
@Elisa Maza that one can be interpreted multiple ways. Either we're perfect as in resourceful and determined, or she is one of the few powerful or knowledgeable to know what we are and we are the perfect result for the experiments.
Is it possible that Stella could’ve turned into Kissy Missy, the one that helped us during chapter 2? It makes sense to me because if Kissy Missy was angry about being turned into a toy, she probably would’ve acted hostile toward the protagonist. And since Stella said that she’d be happy to bring joy to kids and everything, it would make sense that she would be happy being stuck inside of a toy. So the fact that Kissy Missy wasn’t hostile toward the protagonist and that Stella inferred that she wouldn’t mind being turned into a toy, the theory that Stella’s soul is in Kissy Missy makes sense. Also, when we hear Stella’s voice in the play room, there’s a cutout of Kissy Missy, but that might be something random.
In the wake scene after the mommy long legs commercial we have those flash backs we know its us because the chase scene BUT WHY ADD THE PARK now you may say its the same park but its not, if you closely look the playground is completely different. @@ar3s622 better yet. We were the head of adoption for the kids. Yeah there Is a sign that says head of production yadda yadda. But a part of production is getting the kids. Is it not?
@@raudinforouzandeh maybe she was indeed kissy missy but only those who have a high rank and authorized know that kissy missy is stella (dunno seems a bit odd but ima share it anyways)and if kissy and huggy were related in a way then so stella and the person who got turned into huggy and in a detail shown in another video she seemed like she was crying which is theorized to be because of huggy’s “death”
Yeah, when saw that kids were being brought in and they were orphans, and being tested I was like, “ yeah there definitely being experimented on in some way” Also the idea that we’re head of production also kinda fits because in both chapters we have had to produce toys to get past area’s and also produce things like the green hand.
That's what I thought! We are producing things and there's no one explaining how to. But, in the play area there's Stella. We are meant to KNOW how to do those things!
I have a theory that maybe “Jamie B Honey” is the prototype. What if the former worker tried to reveal the factories dark secret to the world, thus betraying the factory. The factories team found out and turned him into a toy. This can explain why the prototype is so intelligent and is rebuilding himself. He knows the build of the toys and knows how to build and tweak things. This can also explain why he’s so aggressive towards the workers because they made him like this and hates what they have done to the children/other workers. But since he’s been made into a toy he still cant control he’s aggression. This can also explain why his name is scrambled on the ground as they got rid of him. P.S I know the prototype was made before the other toys. What if they hired someone else to replace him and that might have been us the player. Or they didn’t want to hire someone else in case they tried to reveal the dark secret.
I think that they maybe also used teenagers to make the toys b/c it would explain why Mommy is so motherly and why 1006 would be so smart and aggressive.
If the player is actually in charge of production and "conditioning" it could possibly explain why kissy missy helps the player without attacking? Maybe her conditioning was successful, maybe she's just more docile than the other experiments, but either way once she sees the player she stops to consider the situation for a moment before flipping the lever in the minecart area. Or, she could be helping as a result of either the influence of poppy, which seems unlikely given that poppy was held hostage by MLL, or under the influence of another experiment.... possibly 1006? They seem to be intelligent enough to plan a way to lure the player further into the factory by using the other experiments... for whatever reasons they may have to do so. Idk.
It's also entirely possible that both were success stories - but what Huggy was told to do was violently guard the factory and Kissy is likely following the orders of someone who's *still there*. In chapter one the voice recording mentions that the player should leave before their "unconventional" security system kicks in. Of course, it's possible they both follow the orders of someone still in the building, but I heard this idea somewhere and it fascinated me because it's not their nature; it's their orders.
Well this depends, "Jamie's" name could have been removed that way bc he left the company and after he did it all went down hill. I can't remember when Kissy was made but she could've been made later when our character wasn't there so she does know him
*HOLD IT* There's one problem with Poppy being the dead family member mentioned in the tape. The tape says the death occurred in the 1960s. Assuming the living Poppy doll in the game was the very first one made, it CAN'T be her because she was released in 1950.
Jamie B. Honey also lines up with the hooks on the empty sign. There's 5 on the top, and 6 on the bottom. However, there's a slight issue with the unscrambling, Mat. You replaced one of the a's with an e. There's only one e in the scrambled letters, and Jamie B. Honey has two. Likewise, there's two a's in the scrambled letters, but only one in the name. Now to be fair, Jamia could technically also still work, but you might wanna pay closer attention to your scramblers ^^'
@@TheSecondVersion Huh, I was wondering why this one felt so...lazy. He even made it seem like the orphans thing was a big reveal, even though the game isn't subtle about it at all. (One of the tapes literally mentions orphans).
I feel like our character was maybe an important member of staff to the Playtime Co. but after finding out what was happening with the orphans we maybe had an argument or something with Ludwig and that’s why our sign/slide is wrecked and put in the shadows. Might not fit in with any of the other lore but that’s just something I’ve had on my mind for a while.
If MatPat’s theory is right about our character being the head of production, and the one who actively created all the living toys, then the slide could be destroyed by said living toys still in the factory. If I was turned into a toy I think I would harbor the most resentment towards the one who turned me into a toy.
Great episode, as always. One problem: Jamie B Honey has an extra "E" where there should be an "A". Maybe Jamie Bahony/Haybon or Naomi Jehbay? Maybe Jayne Haibom?
A note not to be forgotten is the game makes a effort to hide your reflection in things that should mirror it. They are completely black textures instead of making a reflection texture in them. Which is a technique used when you want to hide things about the player model from the player.
@Millo Eisa They probably don't but that's not what they are doing means on it's own. They wouldn't mirror reflect at all and then hide what it reflects in style at the very least unless they didn't want you to notice something.
@@meowkitty4849 wait that actually makes sense, but then again you might be overcomplicating it... would be more interesting if that was the case though
The idea that we are the villian, explains to why we came back to the factory. Perhaps were making sure that all the bad things aren't revealed to the public?
There is also a theory that the other slide tube belongs to the scientist who manages the creation of the prototype the log-in recordings are the evidence.
This is true but what if the toys where made first and then the souls put in the toys we know this for the fact that the kids carry a companion toy to use when doing the experiments all orphan kids have there toys the toys you find are bloodied and broken Though your theory is interesting Nice theory.
@@GUMMYGAM3R Hmm, I don't know, Huggy bleads a lot, so I think Mat theory might be right on this, they probably used the actual bodies of the victims to make the toys as opposed to just infusing them with the souls.
I think instead of taking the traditional route of Fnaf of where souls go into an intimate object, I think the scientists took the physical part of the human bodies and embedded them into the toys. So when they used the poppy flower to revive them, they created living toys that awoke their consciousness.
Jamie B. Honey does make sense, seeing how often our character cokes across the Cat Bee toy. Almost as if we have a tie with it... What if each Head of the Company has a tie with a specific toy? Food for thought.
If you are actually a catbee toy, then how come there's no flight? Like, the company definitely wouldn't just cheap out Unless the character doesn't even feel them existing
If that really is the name on the slide and the name of the player, it is somewhat fitting that the first toy you're forced to make in chapter 1 is that honey bee cat. Seems like something they'd do, connects to a toy and is a name? Seems to fit this world's naming conventions
The big question mark for me is... if we are the head of production, how old is our character? Because if they were a founding member we'd have to be seventy at the youngest.
This theory makes so much sense because our character throughout the game is making and producing stuff. In the second chapter it was the electric hand for the grabpack, and in the first chapter it was making the cat bee toy.
I like that when Séan said "...Some giant thing doddering about the place.." the text shows "... gathering about the place." Doddering essentially means to move in a strange way. Gathering doesn't make sense in the context of that sentence, but I can hear how it may sound like that.
@@viperlord487 yes it is. Or atleast that is the only thing that makes sense as it shows up shortly before we are chased by pj. Also nothing else shown in the game so far is quote: "fifty feet long with a thousand legs."
It truly makes sense for us to be the villain, cuz usually, other horror games have the main character/player the "innocent" one, and I feel as if we're the reason why every toy wants to kill us because of our past mistakes. For example, the note that we get in the mail to go to Playtime Co, has spelling mistakes, and the thing is, I feel like it'd obviously had to have been a child who wrote it to us. I'm guessing Kissy Missy mailed it to us, and she tried to give us a second chance to redeem ourselves. Maybe since she's probably a child, she wants to help us, like she did in Chapter 2. The other toys won't give us a chance, because they don't forgive us, and want to kill us, since we ruined their lives and made them turn into toys.
The thing that doesnt make that much sense to me is how we're the villain if huggy wuggy tried to kill us. Know for its obedience, he would most likely recognize someone as important as the production leader and.. well, would not try to kill him, since huggy wuggy is that obedient. Perhaps someone is ordering Huggy Wuggy to kill us, someone with a higher rank, but then again, arent they dead?
@@MxPumpkin Yeah, now that you mention it, maybe someone else could be ordering Huggy Wuggy to kill us, or basically kill any intruder that comes to the premise of the toy factory. Maybe the person in the Playtime Co. does have s higher rank, but if they are dead, maybe they somehow tried turning themselves into a toy to be unstoppable, and more powerful than humans, aka us. I mean, I was guessing that it could be the Prototype, but maybe there's another toy that could be controlling the toys to try and stop us. Idrk, it's really confusing.

@@MxPumpkin Maybe its because when we first see huggy wuggy, he doesn't attack us and instead gives us the key. Huggy wuggy attacks us after we make a toy, maybe he didn't want to attack us at first but got angry again because we made a toy using another child ? So he might have given us a chance at the beginning and didn't attack at first, but we repeated our mistakes again ( by making the toy ) and attacked us? I'm not sure but it's a small detail I noticed.
I kinda find it weird how 1006 was there exactly as mommy long legs is defeated, as if waiting to make either one of us a part of him, it was as if though he was watching, orchestrating how things flow from behind the scenes.
what if we the player arent in control? and are in fact brought here and toyed with by 1006 like the children were because of our position in the company?????
You’d think you’d be able to explore such a gigantic factory freely, especially since you’ve worked here… you should be familiar with the place… right? Unless something is carefully crafting your old factory into a destroyed labyrinth, leading you along holes in the ground and glowing bars in the wall. Why would those have been there when the factory was operational? quick transportation? I don’t think so. The Prototype knows we’re here, and it wants us to get further and further caught in its web.
I mean it could also have been that 1006 WANTED us to get rid of mommy FOR him, could he be the one who sent kissy missy to pull the lever for us? Could he also be the one leaving the tapes? So it could explain the randomly convenient placements of it
minor theory: in chapter 1, leith pierre mentions a security camera system that sets off alarms and contacts the authorities. but as your walking around, nobody shows up and no police show up. do you think that the authorities are in on this too, i mean they had to have had security at the building, right? it wouldn't have made any sense that nobody has found out about this yet if there whould have been a security team walking around
to be fair i think it was said somewhere that Playtime CO. was shut down a while ago, so noone may be coming because noone thinks it matters. That video tape was left laying around for a while, after all.
@@sarafontanini7051 Sure, but breaking into abandoned buildings (especially stores or factories) is a BIG deal. So while police may not care about someone breaking into an abandoned home, you would be screwed if it’s a factory or store. Why? Idk, but security seems to remain tight in those locations. So my guess is that the police are involved in the situation and have been turning a blind eye to missing orphans for decades, they may be being paid off. (Maybe Jamie (or whoever we play as) called ahead to let them know to not show up.)
What if, the security... Is Huggg wuggy? Like think about it, it's been mentioned that there's a high level security system and also that huggy wuggy is very obediant. Which is why he attacks us!
So last video I made a comment about Elliot Ludwig and his "tragic family loss". I speculated his family loss was probably his adopted child that he somehow made into The Prototype. Polly was made to early for his family loss. How she was made I don't know yet. But I hope we figure it out soon. Matpat making the connection between the red screen messages and a parent ignoring their child's faults is what really helped locked it in for me. Elliot (if he's the one talking in the red screens) seems to be excusing his adopted child's, the prototypes behavior. And I don't think it stops there. Elliot has an ex wife. Maybe she's Mommy Long Legs? Not a whole lot of evidence here just a hunch I had. Mommy Long Legs is described as a motherly figure to the other experiments. Maybe Elliot's ex wife has some maternal instincts that carried over. I think it would be really cool to have Elliot Ludwig, the man who seemingly advocated for peace and love on the outside, to actually be heartless, cruel, and be willing to sacrifice everyone around him. And if we are really the head of production. And we helped to sacrifice a bunch of innocent lives who's only crime was to be too close to Ludwig then I think it would be really cool. Sorry if this makes no sense I'm writing this at like 3:00am cause I can't sleep
There's one thing I'm still confused about, it is confirmed that we were an ex-employee of the company. No matter what our purpose is for coming back to playtime co. , we should remember the ways and paths of the company. But so far we seem to just go by poppy and the other's wishes...... maybe some kind of memory loss??
I don't have anything that could back this up but what if when they were about to leave they had their memories of what happened erased so when they left they couldn't tell anyone else what happened
I think the player is also a human experiment and the death screens are they player actually getting back up after every death. Maybe the experimentation is what caused the memory loss. Maybe Poppy calls you perfect because you are a human experiment that can overcome death and pass as a human. I think Ludwigs whole motivation wasnt to just revive his deceased family member but the become immortal. I think Ludwig was experimented on himself and became "the prototype". I think the player is the fully realized goal of the experimentation the full complete version
Well if our slide was removed, it implies we left the company earlier. It's possible the place restructured after we left. On the other hand, if Mommy remembers us, then the PlayStation probably already existed and we should know that place --though Poppy is not giving you directions in there.
@@covereye5731 maybe our slide is destroyed by one of the experiments such as mommy long legs because if we are the head of production and mommy long legs has some strong emotions for us still she would probably destroy it straight away after she realised no one was coming back
Okay, I think this is the best Poppy Playtime theory to date. The part where you matched the slides to the different wings of the factory is really genius! I would have never thought of that. Then us being in the production wing really pieces everything together! Man, keep up the great theories, Matpat!!
When they finally finish making this game, I'm already waiting for the DLC where you play as an orphan completing the tests and trying to not get turned into an experiment, but failing it at the very end and becoming something that chased us down in the main game. See Playtime Company in its prime and going from everything is funny a jolly for a child, to dark experiments.
there's something funny I noticed about 1006's arm. The hand that drags Mommy away is clearly a left hand, but the way the bones are positioned would imply that it can only rotate to the right, completely the opposite way human arms work. It was probably just a mistake with positioning the bones, but it's honestly kinda funny when you think about it
MatPat: “I promise I’m not trying to make this game sound more and more like FNAF... I just happen to have FNAF in my head whenever I’m playing an indie horror game... or any indie game... or any game in general... or when I’m sitting in the park, or driving the car, or having lunch, or sitting on the toilet”.
I was wondering, with all of the cardboard cutouts having some dialogue completely mangled in some way by static or whatever, could looking into the…audio waves or whatever get some kind of hidden message? It’s happened with a few other args and games, could be something to look at.
I think it would make more sense for “the prototype” to be the owner of the fifth slide. If they are in fact the head of production… well it would make sense that the prototype is smart enough to build and put things together. “Enjoys violence” maybe because they had a hand in killing kids or maybe they did not willingly become an experiment
I also speculated that. I think that either MatPat is right or we're Elliot and prototype is this guy with unknown name like you said. I think that prototype saved US! Cause how was it possible for us to survive what happened in Playtime co.?
Ok but- didnt someone make the prototype? How would they be the head if- well if they were made by the head (this isnt to be passive agressive its just a question I have)
If the prototype was head of production, why wouldn't it use the production materials to make itself more powerful? The prototype hasn't been shown attacking Huggy, Mommy, or Poppy, all of which show no visible damage when we first see them, and instead it waits until they've died. It shouldn't matter if their dead or not considering it can make a laser out of a flashlight. It just doesn't line up.
Is no one talking about how one of Huggy Wuggy’s biggest attributes was that he’s obedient? Wouldn’t that imply that someone, or something, is telling him to harm the player? They could be controlling him to do things because he’s engineered to listen and obey
I think what they're referencing is that his job is security, and he's following it through even after the factory was abandoned
1006 isn't huggy wuggy
@UCxAEazSKzHSkgXuFpsrdh4g THANK YOU FOR LURING ME IN
That tracks but my theory is that because they have no one to follow orders by, likely being their method of suppressing "the darkness" inside them, they eventually became violent. However. I wouldnt put it past the devs for that to be a story line
Honestly even the most obedient dog will attack something if he's hungry. These creatures have been locked inside for 10 years
This theory makes so much sense considering the main character we play as is able to use the GrabPack just like any other regular worker of the Production Area would.

The theory of the player's name being Jamie B Honey makes a lot of sense, because there's literally a bee toy in production at Playtime Co. and the cutout for it says, "You need to get out of here."
Isn’t the first toy the character makes Cat Bee as well?
In another video someone counted the sign that fell and said there were 5 letters above and 6 below. And it seems to match up!
@@jammin2369 yep, right before Huggy comes after you
nope so slow lol
Also Jamie is a gender neutral name, meaning the player character gender's up to the player.
This makes sense.
I think the children are used for the smaller toys. While the adults then used for the bigger and more intelligent toys.
what if they put animal souls in certain mascots
But Stella was an adult too?

And on another note, that could be how his daughter died. Maybe his abuse lead to her death and he felt guilty about it.
This explains why Huggy and Kissy also have blue ribbons damn u are smart
@@shacochad7052 Thank you :>
Considering that freakin' *Wendy's* burger joint has a mascot with red hair and blue bows, I doubt this is a factor in the game.

Has anyone pointed out the flower imagery of this game? Kinda sounds like cultivation and kinder*garden*... cultivation.
That’s interesting...poppy flowers are associated with death and dreams
There are a lot of names associated with nature actually. Stella (star) Greybur (burrs of various sorts are a common weed). Makayla Hyssop as you mentioned. Lots of animal or insect mascots and even a dinosaur! Jamie B Honey would fit right in.

What if they're things that he said?
Like, trauma showing.
Rogue* rouge is red
The biggest question that’s bothering me in this game is “why we’re not dying?”
Is there someone always saving us? Or are we immortal somehow
Based on the texts seen when the player dies I think someone keeps reviving the player,
Makes me wonder if we are an experiment in a sense.
After looking back at all the theories so far. I think the prototype is NOT Elliot Ludwig.
I think it’s Pierre, the head of innovation.
“INNOVATION IS KEY” is very much something he would say bc he was so obsessed with his experiments, and he feels like he would be chaotically mad enough to continue after being shifted.
strongly agree with this
It's not Leith considering that Catnap and Leith were talking to one another in one of Chapter 3's VHS tapes.
On an different channel, I heard someone theorized that Kissy Missy is still watching an bunch of orphans that didn't get turn into toys, so her murderous behavior is still being suppressed
ruclips.net/video/PONHWVlwkEw/видео.html
or her conditioning worked...
I think it can be because :

The audio expressed CandyCat being intially excited about the "Candy"
But after getting full still ends up getting fed and apparently begging doesn't matter enough to stop for whoever is feeding him
So does that mean the "Candy" serves another purpose entirely?
You can also hear in the audio where it expresses CandyCat being very excited and hyper for the candy, which is very similar to children. As we know, little kids have a strange obsession over sugar and energy. We already know about kids being made into toys but I think this is just another clue :) .Bit disturbing though
It was a form of conditioning, candy cat loved candy too much, that they force fed it into the cat, until it couldn't take it anymore, until the cat hated candy, I know it's cruel, but I first hand have seen this form of conditioning being threatened upon children

Also, as much as there are similarities to FNAF, this game has a different feel. Maybe games should have a new genre of "childish horror" or something for games like these lol
Edit: changed androgynous to unisex

Mommy long legs reminds me so much of the other mother/Beldam from Coraline: the fact that she toys with children falsely acting as a “mother”, she loves games but hates cheaters, and has that chilling spider like movement
Plus, Beldam's hand looks like the prototype's which dragged mommy long legs away
@@giansibalo6443 When I first saw the hand in my first run through Chapter 2, I connected that as well and almost gave myself a heart attack. That movie scarred me as a chuld.
very veryy clever interpretation. movie also scarred me as a child lol
Scientifically, spiders are actually very affectionate mothers in nature. They are protective, love to cuddle their babies and sometimes will be reluctant at letting their children go similar to a human moms going through empty nest syndrome
So I think Mommy Long Legs acting predatorial against the protagonist makes a lot of sense considering she probably really saw the children in the factory as her own children in a way, which is probably why she took it very personally when the children "left her" and so she's focusing all her sadness and anger against the protagonist due to knowing the protagonist most likely had something to do with it.
Having the Beldam from the Coraline movie portrayed as a spider woman was definitely no coincidence since it shows how possessive mother spiders can be
Yeah, but mommy actually loves the kids and got protective when they took them away, but clever interpritation

There's one problem with our character being the head of production:
Huggy Wuggy was completely obedient to the staff and wouldn't harm someone as important as the head of production.
Huggy Wuggy could simply be most obedient to his master.
@Taelin Cusic ooooo~? I just thought someone is controlling huggy wuggy?
I think this is much more likely than Mat's theory personally. (Sorry Mat)
I just look at things, and try to figure out theories that make sense.

If this theory is true, maybe the reason Kissy Missy/Stella DIDN'T attack us is because she recognized us as her old boss(and maybe as an old friend?)
Edit: Stella would probably be the first to speak out when she found out how the kids were being treated, maybe the company manipulated her in some way, and when she found out too much they had to to get rid of her but didn't want any potential to go to waste so they turned her into a toy, and Stella/Kissy's kind nature carried over into her toy form?
Also, if you press Kissy Missy's cutout after listening to Stella's speaking in Game Station, you noticed both of them sound alike.

I can agree with this hypothesis, the messages do sound like they are referring to the player in a friendly/cordial manner. As if he were a co-worker.
but, wouldn't he be dead?? he started the company sometime in the mid 1900s (i think) since poppy was made in the 1950s, and tons of experments came before her and huggy wuggy, since the place looks old and very run down, wouldn't he be very old if not dead by now??

(In New Zealand, we place poppies over the graves of fallen soldiers, and wear poppy pins to honour them as well :D)
So it makes sense why the creators chose to have the poppy flower as the main symbol of the game.

I thought the main reason for poppies being used to honour soldiers was because they were the flowers that grew along the Western Front during WWI. They were a strikingly beautiful sight and a symbol of new life and growth in such a world of death and destruction.

a random thought, "Jamie B Honey" sounds more like a name for a toy thats supposed to pass as human than an actual human name. what if we were the latest in the many experiments before the factory shut down? What if the factory decided to start making living "toy" workers to run the factory? It would definitely make sense. actual workers would start objecting eventually, maybe even tell the press whats going on. these created workers would be much more obedient and complacent. and WE were the apex of this branch of experimentation and were given a position above the others as a reward. this would also explain the death screens and respawn mechanics, were literally the same as the toys and therefore we are connected to them. and the reason characters like mommy longlegs dont recognise us as being one of them is that we LOOK human. none of the toys do, so they just assume we arent a toy.

Idk.
Yeah I can see that, the research logs said that the Huggy series had adapted to the conditioning the best.

Why was I expecting "since I last sung this song so I could ponder, the man behind the slaughter"
Theory idea: If the toys are made from the conscious of humans, how can they be mass-produced? Are they cloning a conscious or multiple?
I think the kids just end up being a toy someone else is, many kids
Orphans
But most of the living toys weren't probably the mass sold ones. Just "more expensive" ones
Yeah that actually makes sense! Edwig was tied to Poppy and Stella seems connected with Kissy Missy or Mommy Longlegs!
If you are actually a catbee toy, then how come there's no flight?
Like, the company definitely wouldn't just cheap out
Unless the character doesn't even feel them existing
If that really is the name on the slide and the name of the player, it is somewhat fitting that the first toy you're forced to make in chapter 1 is that honey bee cat. Seems like something they'd do, connects to a toy and is a name? Seems to fit this world's naming conventions
And the fact that this person is probably the head of production so we had to Make the toy to get out
The big question mark for me is... if we are the head of production, how old is our character? Because if they were a founding member we'd have to be seventy at the youngest.
This theory makes so much sense because our character throughout the game is making and producing stuff. In the second chapter it was the electric hand for the grabpack, and in the first chapter it was making the cat bee toy.
That’s true honestly
@Razer Naruto why
@Razer Naruto doesn't sound too bad tbh
This is unrelated, but Cat Bee is so cute! Ik there is probably a dead kid in there somewhere, but the idea of Cat Bee is adorable.
@Razer Naruto how bro I dunno what to do
I like that when Séan said "...Some giant thing doddering about the place.." the text shows "... gathering about the place." Doddering essentially means to move in a strange way. Gathering doesn't make sense in the context of that sentence, but I can hear how it may sound like that.
I think that was just the body of pj pug-a-pillar

I kinda wonder if the five executives were lured to the factory and was killed off one by one
@@sarafontanini7051 that does make sense
@Krk Jk y E s B)))
I don't have anything that could back this up but what if when they were about to leave they had their memories of what happened erased
so when they left they couldn't tell anyone else what happened
@@tobeyorconsequences9544 i think that could be a possibility, yes
Ok I’m invited in this idea of a dlc someone needs to make this when the game has been finished
I think the urge to compare this game to FNAF is blocking the possibility of other reasonable theories
there's something funny I noticed about 1006's arm. The hand that drags Mommy away is clearly a left hand, but the way the bones are positioned would imply that it can only rotate to the right, completely the opposite way human arms work. It was probably just a mistake with positioning the bones, but it's honestly kinda funny when you think about it
or maybe its just that 1006 is made different and the bones do not work for anything
MatPat: “I promise I’m not trying to make this game sound more and more like FNAF... I just happen to have FNAF in my head whenever I’m playing an indie horror game... or any indie game... or any game in general... or when I’m sitting in the park, or driving the car, or having lunch, or sitting on the toilet”.

if the orphan died in 1960, and poppy was made in 1950, how does that make sense...???
I think it would make more sense for “the prototype” to be the owner of the fifth slide. If they are in fact the head of production… well it would make sense that the prototype is smart enough to build and put things together. “Enjoys violence” maybe because they had a hand in killing kids or maybe they did not willingly become an experiment
I also speculated that. I think that either MatPat is right or we're Elliot and prototype is this guy with unknown name like you said. I think that prototype saved US! Cause how was it possible for us to survive what happened in Playtime co.?
Ho yeah, it would make sense for them to pull an Afton
Ok but- didnt someone make the prototype? How would they be the head if- well if they were made by the head
(this isnt to be passive agressive its just a question I have)
If the prototype was head of production, why wouldn't it use the production materials to make itself more powerful? The prototype hasn't been shown attacking Huggy, Mommy, or Poppy, all of which show no visible damage when we first see them, and instead it waits until they've died. It shouldn't matter if their dead or not considering it can make a laser out of a flashlight. It just doesn't line up.
