This is exactly what I have done on both of our G8 GT. Auto Parts or Hardware stores have screw caps that look very OEM to cover up exposed screws. You can usually find them with the license plate screws and bolts.
another way to fix that problem is to either 3d print a complete new part or plastic welding the tabs back onto the old piece after 3d printing a new tab that is thicker with a non pvc based plastic which gm is obsessed with making interior trim out of
@@TTVseantheredeemed I found someone local off of Craigslist to make me replacements, the guy I found actually 3d printed parts for a restoration shop. we spent nearly 6 weeks making parts before we came up with a more flexible piece that wouldn't break buy inverting the tab upwards so ot pops off instead of breaking
So my daughter did this to my car but it’s snapped like broke broke idk what to do it scratches my leg and I tried to sue or glue it and it won’t work the power works but the plastic is broke and the wires are showing
Glad you posted this! This has been driving me nuts for months.
lol it was such a huge eye sore
excellent solution, I was going to do the same and your video made me confident that it will work... Thank you VERY much for sharing your experience
I’ve been looking for a simple fix for years! Ty!
Can’t wait to do this. This spring I’m tired of my pants leg getting caught on mine.
right on! It definitely made a difference lol
Thank you. I've been thinking the same thing for my old mks. I'm glad to see that this works. Subscribed

right on! I was gonna put a more professional finish to it but the g8 is now with a new loving owner
I used superglue & an insect spray can to keep the panel locked in place with the door closed till the glue hardened - worked great.
You could have used a washer + screw cap (black plastic)

huh, thats pretty creative thinking lol, unfortunately I dont have access to a 3d printer
Have you 3D printed the piece? Where can I find the STL from to print mine?

Heavy weight and high temprature make plastic very soft and breakable. A metal screw offers a long lasting durable solution.
I just put a zip tie through the clip hole inside the bottom thingy, and ziptied it in to the metal frame hole where it should clip in 😂😂

Another option: Heavy duty zip ties and a soldering iron to make a new (reinforced) hole on the inside and tighten it right up without seeing a thing.
Thanks for the input! Didn't even think of that lol
Anything for a infinti Q50)?
