- Quick and simple guide on how to fix the PS3 error code 80710102 brought to you in HD
I get this a lot, for some this fixes it temporarily like me. For others, this fixes it permanently so I thought I'd make a quick tutorial.

WIRELESS USERS READ: I found why it isn't working for wireless, if you have a WPA key it might not be in the aka key box or may be incorrect, enter it or type the right one and you will get a connection. I know because I've had 2 errors for at least 3 months, I fixed 80710092 by re-typing the interned settings + primary and secondary dns and I got 80710102 which I my brother fixed for me by entering the WPA key. please thumb up so everyone can see, hope I helped!

Anybody saying that this isn't legit is lying. If you follow the steps correctly, you'll keep all of your data. Most people are just too stupid and think that just because they can't login, (Which is because Sony's servers are down) they lost everything. I can guarantee you that this is 100% legit and you don't loose any data.
Why the hell wouldn't you warn us about the password! I had 500 trophies and 100 friends along with 3 games that I maxed OMG I also created it 2 years ago so now it's gone all my friends that I knew for 2 years are now gone! I played with them all the time and plz warn people in the future so it doesn't happen to more people! (No wonder he said it crashed his PS3)!!!!

To the people complaining about lost passwords.
1. PSN is down
2. You have it saved/autologin enabled. Resulting in you forgetting it since you don't input it. (If you don't use it you lose it)
3. Recover it from email if you forgot it.
TRUE DAT!! i tried to play CoD today and it didnt work so yeah and everybody was like disconnecting on CoD the last time i played so yeah EVERYBODY PSN WILL BE BACK IN LIKE 2 OR 3 WEEKS!

For some reason I'm stuck on the first step where after you reset the setting & come to the part where you need to press the PS button but it won't work

maybe your dns settings are on manual so change them to automatic. That did it to me and i just did that and works perfectly.
where do you find the DNS settings?
I did all this and got the same DNS error 80710102. so, why doesn't it work. I've tried wireless & a bridged connection (wired). the internet itself obviously works because im messaging off a laptop connected to the same hub
Contact Sony, there are some other things I could suggest, but trust me, just call Sony. If I was able to check out your PS3 remotely, I would totally do it, but I can't.
I already know the complicated confusing aspects of internet connections and computing, yet Sony seem to have something stupid going on with my computer only. for those reading, a DNS server (Domain Name Server) is like a phonebook, it keeps records of all IP addresses from the techynology you use that connects either through the ISP (Internet Service Provider) or the servers that Sony use to keep records of your account and the location of the computer your using
Also, if Sony tells you that it's your ISP, they have basically given up on you. So if they do that, say "Hold on one second." and get your ISP on your cell phone or something because it 9 times out of 10 is not your ISP when they say this.
the thing is it may be because the ISP is terrible. the connection is appalling. however the same ISP in a different area seems to work

I had this problem for days, randomly lost my internet connection so scoured RUclips putting all different dns numbers in, then found the solution-
turn off ps3.
turn off router.
wait 30 seconds
turn on router
turn on ps3
test the connection
I know its the first thing you should try and you probably did. so did i. but it didn't work the first time. when I tried a few days later after wasting my time with all these vids- it worked.

If your PS3 isn't working for whatever reason, that's your fault for not properly following the video.

If disabling media servers doesn't work try turning everything off for 4 minutes. (PS3 and router)

Didn't fix my problem, but I didn't lose anything or nothing. If you know what you're doing (a.k.a. knowing how to mimic instructions on a screen/remembering your username/password...), it's worth a shot.

Restoring to default settings only reset settings, it does not affect your users on Ps3, logins, saves or anything like that, even if you might think that when it boots up and looks like you're setting it up for the first time.
The problem I'm having is if I'm not using my console for a while, (AFK in other words) it will sign me out. The only way to sign back in is to restart the console, or run an internet connection test, and then sign back in afterwards. This can be very annoying with certain applications. (Spotify for example) It gives me the same error code every time, except I can sign back in. (After closing the app and running an internet connection test of course.)
Worked perfect nice job, and for all of you wondering if this really works, yes it does; its just that the people who dont know their password cant get their account back.

Go on ebay and look for a PS3 wireless card. You can get them for like 20 dollars and it should fix your problem because it replaces the bluetooth card as well as the wired and wireless connections. I would try calling sony first though.

I do not know it shouldn't because it's just the settings you're not deleting any data honestly I am 99% positive that it won't mess with your jailbroken system and games.
No, it deletes your settings though. That is why I had to turn HD back on. You will keep games and game data. If you are really concerned get Playstation Plus. As long as you don't "Format" your PS3 you will be fine.
It might be that you don't have enough bandwith. Or it could be that your PS3's wireless/internet card is messed up. They are like 20 dollars (US) on ebay.

You don't have to restore the settings more then once, but you do have to re-do your internet settings every time you get it. If you want to never have it happen again you will need to get a new PS3 wireless/bluetooth card.
New information bro :) Today , I entered to my PSN and I put the Call of duty MW3 game . I played online ... maybe 1 hour and the problem came out again ;x The problem now is : Im starting my PS3 (everything is fine , Im playing a game , I can use the internet but after 40-60 mins the problem shows.. and I have to restart my console to use the internet again . This is fo now ;xx I hope the card is not broken :(

This works the same way, it changes them, but does it automatically. I know how you do that and what to set it to, I just wanted to show the easiest way possible for not so tech savvy people.

Firstly, thank you. And secondly, about the NAT type thing there are two problems. My NAT type is perfect for me on every game I own. (Except BO2 on PC) So, I couldn't really show how to fix it and on top of that, it's a different solution for everybody; however here's a link that might be able to help you.

My controller won't reconnect. I have it plugged up to the USB cable and pressed the PS button, but it won't connect.
Thanks for the video, eventhough this resolve dint exactly solve my problem...I just felt I will let others know that one more way to try to overcome the error is to manually change the DNS IP to the one prescribed by your ISP. This worked for me...cheers :)

Worked great! Installed a firmware update on my router, ps3 would not connect at all. Did this and restarted the router and it is faster than ever.

Unless you did something wrong (You didn't follow the instructions correctly) every game you have ever played and ever downloaded WILL be there.

Same problem I had. Sadly you will have to replace your wireless card OR use wired... I suggest wired it's almost 3 times as fast.
I don't know because I myself do not jailbreak. You can just re-do your internet settings and that might fix it...
The bad thing is that this happened to me before and I did this it worked but then it came back after a couple of mounths and had to do this all over I say just get a xbox
This is the long way, this kept happening to me so all I done was turned off my ps3, then turned it back on and went to the connection menu and just simply set it up again. It is now working perfectly but if it doesn't work for you then I don't know

Try wired and if that does not work it's your ps3's wireless card. You can get them on ebay for like 15-20 U.S. dollars.

Do not. I repeat do NOT do the fix this way. It is highly unnecessary. Simply go to Settings>Network Settings>Media Server Connection. Make sure it is disabled. Restart your ps3 after it is disabled and sign back into the account.

Try changing to wired if you keep getting it. I did that and it works perfectly now.

You loose setting non game data you will loose like display settings and anything you have changed under settings your games will not be affected
I did this for error 8002A10D. No change. Error message persists even after reboot. Thx anyway.

Tried both ... Haven't tried wired after resetting to default yet .... It obtains ip and on the next step says failed when I test my connection

I tried everything, nothing worked, and for those of you still having problems, change your wifi password as something is interfering with your wifi.
they just updated the TOS. do what they tell you, go to PSN then try to sign in. you accept twice and youre online again.
Had nothing to do with TOS for me, I had to change the channel on my wifi preferences to fix this.
***** I did that, worked for a day or two and now that damn thing is giving me that error code about PSN (80028E02).

PS3 wireless card issue then. You can get them on ebay for twenty dollars or so.
