Over the years iPhone screens have become more crack resistant, and this is great. But at the same time, they have also become more prone to scratching. From normal day to day use my iPhone 14, after just a few months, has already started to show some permanent hairline scratches, not good. The best way to prevent getting scratches on your display is with a good screen protector. But which screen protectors are actually “good”? Well after some research, I narrowed it down to 4 main screen protector types and ordered one of each and today we are going to find out, which are worth your money and which are not. 1. Tempered Glass. Application process is fairly straight forward. Pro tip: to remove any remaining bubbles you can gently lift the corners of the screen protector to squeeze them out. Right away, I like how this screen protector actually covers the font camera and FaceID sensors, providing more protection and IMO a better look. Glass feels good to the touch and the screen protector has no affect on touch sensitivity and display colours and accuracy. I will test the durability of each screen protector. My keys left almost no marks on the tempered glass screen protector. 2. Matte Glass. I’m really curious to try this next one - a matte glass screen protector. Check out how anti reflective the matte finish it next to my 14 Pro max with a regular glass screen protector. Great, especially when outdoors. But the best part of this screen protector is the incredibly fluid feel in the hand, feels so smooth to use, scroll and swipe. One thing I like less about this screen protector is the matte texture does slightly affect the displays sharpness. I was disappointed by how poorly this matte screen protector held up, easily scratching. 3. Tempered Glass with Install Frame. I’d say the install is excellent, no bubbles or marks and the screen protector is perfectly aligned. In terms of the feel to the touch, this feels almost identical to the iPhones screen. I believe this is due to the added oleophobic coating this screen protecter has, just like the real iPhone screen, this helps keep off finger prints and I think also contributes to the soft feel. Touch sensitivity and colours of the display are not affected. When it comes to durability it held up well, my keys left almost no marks. 4. TPU Plastic. A simple sticker style screen protector. Because the thin plastic is quite flimsy, it is harder to align compared to the solid glass screen protectors. To the touch, you can feel the plastic is not the same as glass. A thin layer of plastic also does not hold up well under my key test. 4 screen protectors, 2 I can recommend. Tempered Glass screen protector. Effectively protects your display from scratches, doesn’t affect colours and touch sensitivity, low cost. Then my favourite, Tempered Glass with Install Frame. Takes all the benefits from the tempered glass screen protector and adds easy application and a feel that is closest to that of the original iPhone display!

Will an iPhone 14 screen protector fit an iPhone 13? Already have a 14 screen protector and change of plans lol
I used the Spigen when I initially bought my iPhone 13 Pro, and have been highly satisfied with it. As you pointed out, with the alignment kit is is really easy to install. It also has a good feel to it and has held up really well. I've had it on my phone now for about 8 months, and it still looks great!
I also have one of those Spigen screenprotectors for my iPhone 12. I have used it for around half a year now and have no complaints so far. It may be a little bit more expensive compared to other options, but in my opinion it is really worth it! It is so good that I just forget there's a screen protector on it and it is also nice that when it breaks you have a second screen protector you can apply, so you phone won't go unprotected!
Thanks for the video. I've just installed the Spigen with installation guide you recommend. This is hands down the best screen protector I've ever tried. This is the only one I've ever installed where I had no problems at all with dust particles or bubbles or alignment. Great product! Also, much less in the way of fingerprints.

I use Safe by panzer glass from day one. Superb clarity and smooth like stock glass.
I just started the video, but Walmart has an ONN brand screen protector that’s “Corning” glass, and it’s has a plastic frame applicator and tray for $10.88. I usually use Spigen but their new applicator doesn’t hold onto the phone well and I messed it up. If my screen protector is a .25mm off, I peel it off. The ONN one seems good but maybe more reflective, smaller fit, and fingerprints are more visible.

I have very sweaty hands, the oleophobic coating of the Spigen, the wonderful smoothness only last 3 months, is there a way to add this oil to my glass?

My favorite feature has to be the dynamic island, it changes the notch look we had for about 4 years
I reeaally like the 120 hrz refresh rate on the iPhone 14 pro, and its 48mp camera as it just brings out so much more detail to pictures.

I bought a Spigen Screen Protector 3-4 days ago, but it didnt fit in for my iPhone 14 Pro Max. I looked at everything that it wasn't meant for the phone, but everything said that it was for 14 Pro Max, is this an accident or are they fake?

I ordered the first brand you reviewed for my 14 pro max and I hated the feel of it. It felt super slippery and I felt the clarity was weird when hit with certain lighting. I took it off and have been going bare for the last few days 😬😂I’m happy to hear you noticed the difference in the feel of that one and the Spigen protector. I’m getting mine from Amazon today!

I've got that one for my 14 Pro Max as well and I don't find it feels any more slippery than the screen itself. I also haven't had any issues regarding clarity of the display. Just thought I'd give my own feedback for anyone looking into getting it :)

How long til we change our screen protector? Assuming we didnt crack or it doesnt have major scratches?
Hi Jaymar, in generally I change once per year (or earlier in case of cracks etc)
I used the matt protector in that I work outside and don’t want the glare.
I ended up ordering the Belkin UltraGlass Screen Protector from Apple store. now I have to be very careful when applying it cuz it cost me €40 and it’s a stand alone. I should have waited to watch your video, I would certainly go for the option you recommended that already comes with the applicator. It’s just perfect! thanks for the video anyway!

So any 13 size should fit a 14? Wonder bc most 14 I have found are for the 14 Pro so now it covers the notch and idk if that's bad or good.

Thanks. Bought the Spigen screen protector with cut-out for sensors because I want 100% true pictures as intended by selfie cam (the coatings ect over sensors could effect it slightly). Can always buy edge to edge.
Hmmm. Actually, I've ordered both for now due to Christmas shipping changes a lot and my iPhone 13 got delivered today but I don't want to rock it naked.. Do you think it will affect the quality at all if it's edge to edge?
Option 1 is an awful screen protector, but then again it’s a $5 product. I just hate the way it pixelates the screen, dims the brightness, and strains your eyes.

hell naw bruh. It doesn't affect the sharpness or brightness of the display or not causes any extra eye strain. But some really bad quality ones can mess up the color/tone of the display

For the iPhone 14 to be exact, hmm I guess the satellite connectivity and car crash detection, it so sad to see the older bionic chipset and also the same display, battery. They really focused on the Pro model which has tons of features released.
Screen protectors are supposed to help with drop protection too, not just scratch resistance.
Actually not so much. Since most of them are harder than the screen, they will shatter more easily than the screen in case of a drop. So an impact that shatters the protector, wouldn’t probably shatter the screen. It’s just a placebo

When theres literally picks out there for testing this stuff that are cheap (compared to all these screen protectors) its so annoying when you dont use this.

You dont want that protector covering your Camera and Face ID sensors! If you put another layer of glass on top of the existing one you will not have as good and sharp img as without it for a simple reason of that sticky layer on protecting glass and you will have more ghosting and reflecting light! Do not go with protectors that are covering cameras! Even worse it when people start slapping glass protectors on sapphire lenses of back cameras.... That one is on next lvl xD

The 40$ one with the application tool is a rip off ! I knew never to spend that much my screen protector. I got a pack of 3 tempered glass no brand protectors for 6$. The more expensive is the same product just with bullsh!t branding. Not harder

Hi, I have experience with ESR. They are affordable, do the job, but can be a bit tricky to apply
This test should have been better in terms of explaining how the protector affects the look of the screen. For example, a few of these add a rainbow effect to the screen, others decrease clarity. So this review wasn’t thorough as these effects were only briefly mentioned or not mentioned at all. Too much focus on application, too little on how it affects the screen visibility itself.
Disappointed it won’t fit the iPhone 14 plus.

For my honest opinion, the only feature that I really interest is the 48MP ProRaw which is super useful t capture enough detail. I usually take pictures almost everyday but I really wish iPhones can capture more than 12MP one day and it really comes true. I use my iPhone 13 Pro which I really like the quality but it doesn't satisfy myself as the 3024x4032 resolution isn't enough for cropping. In that case, I really hope one day maybe I can upgrade to iPhone 16 or newer, maybe those future iPhones will feature 48MP in all its cameras or maybe they will feature periscope zoom just like S21 ultra? Telephoto is also useful too but if it does come with the periscope, I would spend my money into it.

I'm using an iPhone 13 with an ESR screen protector. Despite having some long nails at times, it tends not to scratch and does a pretty good job and is a justice to its price.

My favorite feature of the iphone 14 is the always-on display. I really like the AODs on phones, I don’t have it as I only have the regular 13. That’s why I really want to have the series 8 for its AOD and its great health tracking.
