You should stick these protectors on a thin glass that will act as a phone screen and then hammer it to see if these protectors can protect the thin glass
agreed... if the glass break inside... the protector not protect the glass
@@hariHarzZ i already saw an brand new iPhone get your screen broken and protectors fine.
@@hariHarzZyeah so a screen protector then😂
exactly, the test in this video cant proof anything
Except cell phone screens aren't thin glass.
For those who are still unclear as which is the best screen protector.
I have used all of them and the best one is unbelievable the normal glass one ik it's the cheapest and it broke when it was hit with the hammer but that's exactly what u should want you want the screen guard to take the impact . All the other 9h , ceramic i have used have f**ked 3 phones on my mine. What happens is these tempered glass which don't break just transfer the impact to the screen.
I have used my daily driver for 6yrs with just normal glass and it's been thru alot(fell outta my pocket from bike 3x now) changed 5 tempered glasses up until but it's worth it cux it's cheap asf barely costs like $2 the display and main glass has never gotten a scratch or a crack.
So if you used anything other than normal glass protector the Result: Damaged amoled panel, dead pixels but no broken screen. Or sometimes both display and glass is broken but screen guard is unbroken (Red flag)
Conclusion: use normal glass protector it's cheap but effective
Agree
This has exactly been my experience after trying different stuff. I settled back to cheap, normal glass that breaks very readily and that's how it should be when it takes the impact and spares your phone's display.
Doesn't the normal one also from glass? Or it's just thinner than Tempered Glass?
I agree with you... but a little plot twist: I used NO screen protector since the last 9 years with several phones. The only thing you need is a phone cover. Obviously I don't put my phone together with keys in my pocket or similar stuff. Also I never let it fall on little stones or rocks.
My thoughts exactly. Earlier the guy almost convinced me to buy the ceramic even though it's expensive. But then I remembered a video about the helmet yesterday, about how the helmet is unbreakable. But ideally, in case of an accident, the helmet should break. So that the force of impact will be released and not transferred to your head.
The demonstration should use a glass surface under the screen savers, to proof the impact of the screen itself, especially for hammer hit. I am quite sure that the tempered is better to hang hydrogel to protect the screen under it
Prove
I've been using hydrogel since its production, i've played a lot of games and it prevents my phone from "ghost touching" and its scratch protection is 100% very good. it's the best screen protector for me
Ive got it too. The only peoblem is if anything even close to sharp hits it even slighty(or even with finger nails) it will ruin the protector
Price
@@SeanCorefor me minor scratches automatically disappear in a day or two. But yeah sharp objects would cut through
It scratches very easily
@@Gadottinhoa small scratches, would disappear in a few days, if it's not that much
The only unanswered question left is how they actually protect screens from hits.
Good question. Btw, thanks for watching
The screen protector stops your screen from being scratched and takes in the impact, if you want to protect your phone from drops get a phone case with a lip around the screen so when the phone drops on the screen it is seperated from the ground
@@ojdafinone2091 this works only for flat ground. Unfortunately all my phones (family phones) got hit by landing on stones. And stone often hits the center of the screen, not the rubber rim. Luckily tempered glass protectors helped. So the question is the same: are the new semi liquid protectors any better?
@@andreykalmatskiy2656 hydrogel doesn't have any protection aside from mild scratches. It is used mostly for curved screens because installing curved tempered glass is hard.
@@andreykalmatskiy2656 I'm very curious about the Zagg Invisible Shield Hybrid Glass. They're claiming D30 drop protection, but I'm nervous.
Hydrogell will damage your screen if there is impact to your screen directly , your hydrogell will not damage but your lcd will get damage from the impact
İs "nano" other name of hydrogell
A protector that doesn't break might transfer the pressure to the phone screen
Absolutely! This is exactly the point!
in a sense yeah, but tempered glass is one of the best to have omn a phone, it actually absorbs the impact, my old phone had it and im telling u, the T Glass was wrecked but after i took it off people were shocked i had my phone for years but it had literally 0 scratches or cracks, the t glass took it all
@@I_am_mario009 Yes, that's what I am saying.. A protector (T glass) that doesn't break will transfer the shock to phone's screen.
Es lo que hace la cerámica
@@I_am_mario009Yes, but what you don't know is if your screen would remain intact with the same impact if it wouldn't have the protector. Maybe the force only would break the protector but the same force woudn't break the screen witout the protector.
Hey, would you know where I can buy buy larger sheets of tempered glass from? I am from New Zealand and I just started a small business. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! 😊
You could try find from online local store in ur country.
The protector has to break so it can absorb the impact, just because the protector doesn't break does not mean it is better and stronger, same concept applies with helmets they have to break when in impact so they can absorb the damage.
Result: Tempered glass still the best protection for your phones screen, the Hydrogel will protect your phone screen from scratches, but not from the impact.

Yeah i will do it again in my future video. Btw thanks for watching
@@URTechz I enjoyed it thank you.
You should have tested the edges in some way, because I use tampered glass. They do their job, but always end up falling to wear & tear, and it ALWAYS starts with chips on the edges that turn into cracks.

hydrogel is the best for curved screen but annoying to touch(clear) 😌
ceramic overated actually, cannot protect your screen from impact as good as glass but easy to install and uninstall.
overall tempered glass still the best(for non curved screen)
Good points. Btw, thanks for watching.
Not always true. There are some companies like Whitestone dome that make glass protectors that are fully compatible with curved screens and on-screen fingerprint readers. Only problem is they only make them for more popular phone models and sometimes you have to wait months for them to develop it after a new phone comes out. And theyre relatively expensive.
@@mkygod yeah but mostly hydrogel is the best for curved screen and easy not to fuck up. but generally, curved screen is pain in the ass that's why most people prefer flat screen.
@@mkygod It's all about manufacturing tolerances. curved screen protectors generally need glue on the edge so as to not have air bubbles, because they don't create a 100% airtight fit.
Hydrogel is better for sweaty fingers and palm. I stopped using tempered and different glass, only hydrogel can works normsl when you have a sweaty fingers, the rest creates mistouches and abnormal touch behaviors.
Wish you had put the screens on some kind of black construction/art paper so that it's easier and faster to see test results! Great Work!!
I think I'll put down a temper glass protector first then layer on top with a hydrogel for my "new" Samsung Note 10 Plus
Please i need answers, If my phone already has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, do I still need a tempered glass screen protector?
For better protection, yes you might need it
Hello. I bought 2 different tempered glass protectors online from china for my S20 Fe. They did not stick completely to my screen. Everytime the corners are not stick and there are also bubbles under. I cleaned the screen with the wet and dry wipes before the installation. Is it me or the protector which has a problem? Do you think that hydrogel film ones will stick better and properly? TY
I have tempered glass on my phone. it's all cracked to hell, but my screen underneath is totally fine
But Not good To see it Right?🤔👀
@ggbb056 its good that means the screen protector is effective and you should get more
Better if you paste these on glass sheet and performed tests
That would be great. Btw, thanks watching
i remember beathemups on his video testing temperedglass, hammering his nintendo switch and the screen was not break n no scratch found, but the swotch still died.. lokks like it still got internal injury
Most people certainly have a misconception about the real purpose of the screen protector.
It is only mainly used to protect the screen from scratches. It does not prevent the screen from breaking.
Finally, a smart comment 👍
Would this third one be the best then??
The hydrogel is such a smart technology, i was wondering how a liquid protect the screen even more than a plastic or glass case does, but when i saw the bending screen i understood, it makes ur screen so flexible that it cope in motion with the hit it receive making it damageless, i need this
I use hydrogel type and i noticed that it can self repair or heal minor scratches
Si pero se siente a plastico y reduce la sensibilidad y el color un grado mayor al de cristal templado, ademas que vi que no progete bien frente a impactos fuertes.
@@mkhakk literally everything you said is the other way around, compared to glass, hydrogel is way more sensitive( its literally thinner than any glass???), the screen also looks brighter and much more natural especially if u were to compare it to anti-fingerprint glass (glossy), god it make the screen so much dimmer

@@bananaenjoyer123 You spoke for me my friend.

The thiness of the hydrogel is irrelevant. It's how well it protects. From the tests shown, it was comparable to tempered glass.
I have seen when taking impacts...the Protection glass stayed intact but the display broke 🙄. The job is protect the display not itself! Or isn't it?
There are many types of glass protectors, And yeah i have seen too, that was unfortunate. Btw, thanks for watching
This happen to my phone. The screen protector intact, but the phone screen crack. I used tempered glass and case.
That's why hydrogel is the best for taking impacts however the tempered glass best for anti scratch..this is what I know so far
An excellent presentation, I was really disappointed with the ceramic one I purchased It bruises very easily and scratches as you can see. Hard to believe that the plane hydrogel is better!!!?
😬 Loved the bg music change when the 🔨 was introduced... 😂😂👌🏼
Thanks for watching
Any of you recommend a hydrogel cutter, cheap hydrogel sheets? Please don't mention mechanic 880
Hydrogel is worse than others, it only protects from scratches nothing else. If your phone falls, game over. I prefer normal glass protection and t-glass 👌
But normal here broke waster than hydrogel
@@reginaaaq but there is only glass brake. .. not screen display..
Can you do in the edge of the screen protector
I have an iPhone 11 with a tampered glass protector. I’m confused on how they work wouldn’t the impact get absorbed through the protecter and go into the screen anyway??
Yeah, it should be absorbed first before it goes to the phone/screen
Se a normal é a de vidro 3D realmente essa é a melhor, em impacto ela quebra fácil evitando de quebrar a tela do smartphone, ja essas que não quebra ai quebra a tela mesmo com película.
Which one do you think is smooth and HD tempered glass? Please help with the answer?? for gamers, that is😅
That depends on what you're most comfortable with. Maybe matte tempered glass for gaming, and if you love watching movies maybe clear hd tempered glass.
I prefer both hehe, more like games and scrolling through TikTok if you don't watch RUclips videos
Is it possible to use hydrogel on top of tempered glass?
Yes but it might have some issue with touch sensitivity
My smartphone has the T-Glass film and has no scratches, and in this video it actually performed much better than the others.
Hydrogel the impact goes to the screen so it will not help, it helps against scratches when it comes to impact not good. Can someone in the business say otherwise.
A idéia é que a película quebre, não que a forca fo impacto seja absorvida pela película e tranferida para a tela do celular, então a melhor é a de vidro normal.
Does tempered glass protect the screen from being cracked my screen cracked and I have temper glass on
There are many types of glass protectors. And i have seen it too, the protector is fine but the display was cracked. It was unfortunate.
if the glass didn't break. the impact got absorb by the screen itself that may caused damage to lcd
I don't like having these kind of stuff to my phone screen. The Corning Gorilla Glass Victus is way more tougher, smoother to touch, and elegant.
The bad impact of hydrogen and ceramic is wen you accidentally dropped your phone your LCD has been destroyed not the ceramic protector or hydrogel I'm still using tempered glass to protect LCD not the ceramic or hydrogel
There are test demonstrating plactic protection like "ceramics" is the best for impact protection. Much Better than tempered glass. Here all these perform similar because I think the underline surface could brake the glass
Without the display under the hammer test it makes no sense with hydrogels
The normal one is glass too?
Yes, first and third is actually tempered glass, but the third has 9D gimmick

What material is "normal" made of?
Normal glass, unlike the 3rd one, it was 9H glass
So what is the “normal” called? Please reply anyone.
Hidrogel & Ceramic not recomended if you smash screen with hammer.
My brain doesn't understand why hydrogel is very soft but surprisingly can protect quite well.
Yeap a little shock absorbing. And Gorilla glass is quiet resistant itself. My phone with GG5 and basic factory film protector survived hundreds of falls many of them were very hard. No scratches at all

So uma pergunta a t. Glass e de vidro temperado?
It's the same.
How 1st & 3rd are different? Aren't thry both tempered glass?
Yeah different, but different hardeness, most normal tempered glass made of polyethylene terephthalate or 3h. In this video, the 3rd, this tempered glass has 9h hardest, which is more solid then normal tempered glass.
Nowadays, most people will choose between a 9h or 10h for tempered glass protector. The difference is, normal tempered was made from polyethylene terephthalate which is kind of plastic.
@@URTechz ok. Thanks for clarifying
Tuviste que mostrarlo a contra luz, porque de la forma que lo mostraste no se ve bien
Logically, from physics perspective, Hydrogel is clearly the best protection against impacts, isn't it? Like they're made to form and deformed, to spread and absorb the impact.
Tempered is basically just a hardened glass, made to withstand impact.
What are you writing on those screens, I can't see
what should I pick for oneplus 9 pro?
For me, if i have to choose, i always love using tempered glass
my phone has some cracks , it is safe to use screen protector and which one is better on crack screen?

Actually, it doesn't matter what type of protector you are using, as it will depend on how ur phone fall like on uneven surface, forces, etc..but it better than not using protector at all.
reading many comments sugesting you should do this and that. while I agree with them, still thank you for this vid, very enlightening.
I'm wondering about the ceramic type, I know your fingers slides easier on it, but those scratches are kinda worrying.
Worrying part is only about looks, if u really care so much about it, just get a new one after 1-2 months cuz this is very cheap, in my place i can get it for $1 but i don't do that, im only care about how the comfort and easy i can slide my finger even in sweaty conditions when using other type is pretty much annoying...
Because it's fake ceramic, ceramic is more stracth resistance than glass, we got scammed
The ceramic one is definitely not ceremic. Because ceramic is extremely scratch resistant better than glass. With how much it bends I think that's plastic.
He got scammed lmao
For sure this isn't ceramic... usually ceramic supports scretchs at lvl 8/9
@@garfnadeck A man of culture I see.
Ceramic does not bend at all, does not scratch with level 7 or lower, and you will have a hard time breaking it. He got scammed, and the tempered glass is just regular glass enclosed in plastic to prevent it from breaking, he got scammed, or he is trying to clicmbait

I have note 20ultra5g. Bought screen protector from Walmart. It was the normal screen protector. COULD NOT GET fingerprints to work!! With that being said, would you show us the fingerprinting capability. Also, would fingerprint problem just be from Samsung phones, or is it normal with all brands? Thanking you in advance for your help and the video.
I will it in my futures video. Btw thanks for watching
The screen is edged, and you got a screen protector that only had its glue on the side, hence leaving the unglued parts hollow, making fingerprint recognition near impossible, i recommend getting a full-glue tempered glass or hydrogel, but full glue tempered glass is usually 3-4 times more expensive than side glued ones, but will guarantee a working fingerprint reader, hydrogel is nice, its relatively cheap, but needs slight experience first time applying it, and has extremely good water beading capabilities
Im using a note10 from samsung as well with an edge display, based on my experience its better to used a UV full glue tempered glass (a bit pricey but worth it). The ultrasonic fingerprint works excellent and if its applied perfectly, you wouldn't even feel that you're using a tempered glass at all; as if it doesn't have any screen protector but it has.
Remove the fingerprints and register it again. It helped for me when I installed my tempered glass.
You can change the sensitivity setting to high and that should work for you.
why my temper glass with the same exactly yellow cover is break after hitted the table
That will depend on the screen protector hardness and how it hits the table. Btw thanks for watching.
Hydrogel is the best if it has extra oleophobic coat. Thin, almost not noticable, self recovering coat.
If one uses stylus to write on the phone screen often, the hydrogel screen protector will be scratched and smeared to not viewable in short order.
Put an actual piece of glass behind the protectors for the impact tests. I assume the glass protectors work by breaking themselves instead of the screen. Same reason a tougher car doesn't mean a safer passenger, when the car crumbles on impact it impacts the passengers less.
use wallet case will protect back and cover up the screen.... Just temper glass not really give your screen true protection
I would have to get both ceramic or hydrogel and tempered glass for falls. Gel I don’t think is gonna protect from impact
You know you can install a thin hydrogel onto a tempered glass for shock and scratch
@@KiLLJOY1056 good question bro
@@KiLLJOY1056 huh yeah but the feeling of hydrogel sucks when it comes to playing games and touching the screen. Like it’s unresponsive. I would probably do the opposite put the glass last

Hydrogel dissolves any smudges, fingerprints, or minor scratches, and also helps reduce the signs of any major scratches. But when it comes to actual protection like from phone drop/impact when dropped, I'm not really sure about that as I haven't tested it yet, but i will consider doing it in my future video. The normal one is the best, because it actually absorbes the impact, and will most likely protect your phone
today smartphones are easy to scratch screen with nails and hard to break from drop :) this is why you need protection from small scratches not from big impast. Hydrogel is best one especially because heat from screen make that hydrogel regenerate by own self and even if you try to scratch it with nails - it will regenerate
@@riderrider8683 Are you sure smartphone screens today are hard to break from drops, even that without Gorilla Glass?
@@ifacedownworship old phone screens before 2015 are so fragile, but nowadays all phones are using gorilla glass and they are all strong. I have a phone without any screen protection, i am a clumsy person so i dropped it many times but it is fine. The part which break is not the screen, but the bezel / the frame.
The ceramic is like plastic car headlights. It can be sanded and buffed and then look brand new
No you can't, ceramic don't bend nor scratch without a level 8 tool, that "ceramic" is fake, it's just plastic, just the fact it bent taking of the wrap and scratched with a level 4/5 metal object just shows its fake, and it's just plastic, ceramic it's the hardest material of the 4 there, and the tempered glass one is fake as well, tempered glass does not break like that either.
