EP3 Civic Type Info:
In 2001, Honda introduced the next generation of the Civic Type R as a unique 3-door hatchback to the UK market, which was manufactured in Swindon, England. This European Domestic Market Civic Type R featured a 200 PS (147 kW; 197 hp) 2.0-liter i-VTEC engine (K20A2) and the regular Type R treatment of seam welding, close-ratio 6-speed transmission and upgraded brakes, but did not include some of the other higher-end features, such as the helical LSD and red Recaro race-seats, that were standard on the EK9.
However, Honda marketed a JDM (Japanese domestic market) version of the EP3 (which was exclusively manufactured in Swindon, UK and was shipped to Japan), which retained the highly renowned helical LSD similar to that of the EK9 and red Recaro race-seats. Other differences of the JDM model included a more track-oriented chassis/undercarriage settings as compared to the European model as well as a more powerful engine having a power output of 215 PS (158 kW; 212 hp) (designated K20A) had a fully balanced crankshaft assembly with the different intake manifold, exhaust manifold, higher-lift camshafts, higher-compression pistons, chrome-moly flywheel and ECU programming. All of the Japan-spec K20A Type R powertrains were built in Japan and shipped to the Swindon plant to be installed in the Japan-spec Type-R EP3. The JDM EP3 was also available in the traditional Type R Championship White while the EDM was not. The EDM has more relaxed gear ratios and some high rpm torque traded for low rpm torque compared to the JDM.[6][7]
Facelift (2003-2005)
Interior
In 2003, the EP3 was updated with many improvements - revised EPS with quicker steering, revised suspension settings, projector headlamps (JDM came equipped with halogens only while the EDM came with an option for HIDs with self-leveling motors), lighter clutch and flywheel assembly, etc. Based on Honda literature, this facelifted (FL) model was targeted at addressing customers' and critics' feedback such as understeer on the limit (due to the front MacPherson strut setup), numb steering response and lack of low-end torque.[8]
Mugen Motorsports developed an upgraded version of the JDM Civic Type R, with a sport exhaust system and engine tuning, special Mugen Grille, and anti-roll bars for pro racing activities.[9]
30th Anniversary Edition
In 2003, Honda celebrated 30 years of the Civic badge by offering a special edition 30th Anniversary Civic Type R. This special edition features red bucket seats from Recaro, air conditioning, privacy glass on the rear windows, a leather MOMO steering wheel, red interior carpet and door cards. The 30th Anniversary models in the UK were available in Nighthawk Black, Satin Silver and Milano Red. Only 300 of these models were produced, 100 in each colour.[10]
Premier Edition
In 2005, towards the end of the EP3's production run, Honda introduced the Civic Type R Premier edition which had Recaro Trendline seats (similar to those found in the Anniversary Edition, only in red and black rather than all red), a darker shade of fabric on the rear seat centre sections, a MOMO steering wheel, red carpet, door linings, "Type R" embossed...

Such a shame the channel is struggling, you were one of the first UK car guys I followed on RUclips, been watching since before the first soarer. You have always been one of the best for really good content, proper cars driven hard. If you can't make a living off it that's a real downer but you gotta do you man. Maybe get a job (booooo) and just post the odd video showing what you are upto with your own cars, would be great to see some grassroots drift stuff again even if it's just the odd skid day that you'd attend yourself anyway, a bit more noriyaro style.
Would hate to see the channel die completely but life is life man.

I had a 2000 Civic coupe back in the day. Saved up all my money bagging groceries to install a GS-R 1.8 B18C engine. I was in love. Always wanted a turbo but could not afford it. Amazing how far these little 4-cyclinder engines have come. May need to build one now that I have some capital!

A longer geared transmission would help, plus’s weight in the back. All wheel drive will balance out the power better, but you still need weight in the back. The car is already a light car even with the interior. You strip the entire car made it 10 times lighter than what it needed to be. Plus the hood is missing the webbing underneath it so there’s weight off the front end less weight for traction. If it was me, I would get a new hood. I would put the interior back in and I would go all-wheel-drive. Once you go all wheel drive, and you have better control of the power you’re going to want more power so the weight of the interior won’t even matter. That’s just my opinion. But nonetheless, that is a bad ass EG.
Could just grow a pair and get a motorcycle and not be such an embarrassment.
That's the only problem with high power front wheel drive, you really have to engineer the frame and everything around it to put that power down. Just look at the front wheel drive drag classes, the cars barely resemble a normal looking street car cause they engineer the chassis around the front wheels. AWD is the way to go to get all that power down.

Only thing I’d say is spray the intercooler and rads to clean up the front just doesn’t look that clean with them being silver and sitting quite off the centre. Overall amazing bro ❤

Maybe work on an undertray and rear diffuser for more stability and rear downforce? Get more rubber on the front if you can find tasty fenders to make it work without ruining the nice eg shape. Saw a few rad hondas doing drags on the hoonigan this vs that channel I think it was. One of them was 4wd. Might be some inspiration for you in those vids if you need any. Looks like you know what you're doing though. What happened with traction top of 2nd and third? It looked like it was spinning full time til top of 4th-5th. I'd go all out on aero and grip at this point, then 4wd if that wasn't good enough. The boys at Honda must be so fkn pleased with themselves. Best mass-produced 4 cylinder ever? It appears so.

If you've done a K 24 right, should be able to run 10,000rpm safely. There are examples out there, if not 9500 at least.
It’s a street car it 8400 is plenty when peak boost is 3800 .
