Robert, I just love your channel. Your stories always bring a smile... Although today, thinking of what the ole Monk was getting up to made that smile a little wicked. I enjoyed it very much.. hahaha. Loved the history lesson this week. American film makers ruin everything... 🤪
Absolutely fantastic story Robert 👍🏻 this is me 👉🏻😮 as you were unfolding the history tale, mind you this was 👉🏻😄 when you said the ❤ had gone on gap year 😂 I wish you'd been my history teacher 💯 Have a wonderful weekend Robert and family ❤
Good to see you back Robert! It's like you came back from the dead. 😜 You must come back when you have a better chance to see the ruins... And, of course, bring us with!
"Tarted up a bit!?" Bwhahaha! That is hilarious! The rest of the story is also awesome! Thank you for this! I always love the creepy stories, and this one is right up there!
Robert, Well told like only a Scott ghost story can be told! There’s a bone chill in the air… It’s mystical & magical and I love the way you told the story you’re a great storyteller. Thanks for the visual. It was really good to see where this all took place.👏🏼🙌🏼
A priest who was not bad enough on earth to be sent to hell. Makes you wonder what the other priest got up to. I was in Chester in August where I had a chance to see the Cathedral which is also built of sandstone. I was rather struck with the delightful colour so I assume Melrose Abbey must have been equally delightful in its day.
Wow, what an absolutely beautiful ruin - I can only imagine how ornate the stonework and the windows were when they were intact! I need to keep this site on a wish list to hopefully see one day. 😊 Loved the story as well - another great episode, thanks!! ❤
DEATH AND RELIGION!! From the same guy no less, you've outdone yourself!! Got to this video late because I just finished 'Bruised Sole'. A fair nice bit of ghost writing there. When can we expect more publications?????
Another great story of long ago and another suspected beautiful Abbey! When you go back, you better take us with you. ❤
Absolutely!
Absolutely!
“Gap year”. 🤣🤣🤣 Brilliant story - I’d never heard of the Hundeprest before. Thanks so much Robert!
Thank you!

I've visited Melrose Abbey. It is a stunning place.
My first time there. Very impressed!
@@scotlandunplugged I will have to go back as well, once the restoration work has been finished and the Harris fencing has been taken down.
What a beautiful old building. I love those old ruins. And the bag pipe playing pig was a bonus !! Thanks, Robert.
Thank you!
The stonework on this Abby is absolutely amazing!!! Love the red stone! Well done Robert!❤! K.
Thank you!
Great to see Melrose, a few miles from my home in Kelso. Omg, never knew about the Dog Priest. Excellent 👍👍💛💛💯💯
I Really like 🏴 Scotland Unplugged and Richard’s brog 👍😎🏴/🇺🇸 !

I’d love to get inside now 😂
Great Video, Very Interesting . Really Bonny Building. It would be nice to see it rebuilt too
I work in Melrose, great seeing it featured here! Heard this story a few years ago…thank you
Love it! Another interesting story told by our master storyteller. Great job, Robert! Btw, 2 of my ancestors accompanied Douglas - two Logans. =)
Thank you 🙂

It’s well worth a visit. A lot of the stonework has eroded a bit, but still remarkably well preserved 🙂
A Scottish vampire? I’ll wait and see . 😁
We invented them 😉
Great! 👻
Thank you Robert- great story and so good to see the abbey still exists!! 🏴 Spooky stuff🧛♂️
Thank you!
Anything to do with vampires is alright by me 😁
😂
I kind of want to know more about the pig piper 😂 what a little marvel he is
It’s intriguing to think the sculptor just took a notion 🙂
You’ve a nack for telling a great story of history.
Thank you!
Great story. “Gap year” love it.
Come on folks, get those ‘likes’ ticked for Robert. 500 plus views but only 209 likes. You can do it. 👍
Thank you 🙂
Nice & creepy for spooky season! ;-)
The timing felt good 🙂
❤❤
Spooky
im a borders man never heard about the vampire pretty cool
Thank you so much! Americans desperately need a little distraction right now, much appreciated 👍 And a great story!!
Thank you 🙂
A little distraction? Need it for the next 4 years!!
@@karelcindrich1975 💯. There is not enough single malt in the world to get us through on that alone.
Awesome story. The abbey is beautiful it would have been spectacular in all its glory. Why is a pig playing a bag pipe? 😂
Thank you 🙂
I hate Henry VIII. Destroying those beautiful buildings! All because he couldn’t get a divorce!
Melrose didn’t become a ruin because of the dissolution of the monasteries.
DEATH AND RELIGION!!
From the same guy no less, you've outdone yourself!!

Thank you! There will be more publications soon 😅
@
Can’t wait!
Melrose is in Scotland and had nothing to do with Henry who was English.
It was damaged by invading English forces when Henry VIII wanted Mary Queen of Scots to be married to his son.
Please round up the story properly by going back during one night alone!
