I remember leaving a comment several years ago that what you were really going to need was a skidsteer and snowblower combination 😀 I’m glad you’re finding it so useful.
Hello, I started watching Red Poppy Ranch a few months ago because my husband thought I would like it. I started watching the older videos of when you first bought the property, watched them all in order until i caught up to now. I truly am amazed at all you and your family have accomplished. We enjoy all you videos even the ones where you are working on the different vehicles. Our son is 47 today and our daughter is 45. They would love to be living more remote, but not quite the time yet. Keep up the good work. 🙂
Lucky deer with a waiter to serve their meals.😊 The truck sitting so high up on its wheels makes it look like one of those water bugs that skakes across the surface of a pond.
Liked seeing the Cabin. When you start talking Truck it goes completely over my head but when you put the bed of the truck on, I grinned like I had accomplished something 🤣🥰
Can’t believe you haven’t got yourself a drill press . Or even a small Bridgeport Milling machine. I know it’s money and a serious investment. But you can do so much with a half decent machine . Nice to see that the Deer seem happy enough in their new home . Thanks for sharing . Mart in the uk x
Heath the wide angle view that the drone offers of the landscapes of the properties around your land is beautiful. Or at least that is my view. I may change my mind if I had to battle the road elements. I just keep thinking that the others who lived on your land before you and your lovely family settled in just didn't work hard enough or wanted the property bad enough to make it work. I pray that this property will continue to be a blessing for your family for many generations!
Love watching your work, the landscape is so pretty this time of year. I think you should consider a milling machine for all the machine work you do, but with your skills you could make anything work. Thanks for all the videos for us to watch.
Heath, I’ve been critical over the years and, I’ve even questioned your sanity at times, but you have single handedly taken a side of a mountain and turned it into a beautiful home and life for your family. There’s not a very large percentage of guys that could have done what you’ve accomplished, especially going out and working outside in the dead of winter everyday, year after year. You should be extremely proud of what you’ve accomplished and thank God everyday that you have the income stream, health, and a wife that allows you to do something that you clearly very much enjoy!
Always amazed at how much modification to a vehicle you guys are allowed to do over there! Here in UK, the car insurer I've been with for 20 years refused to renew my insurance because of a raised air intake! Blanket refusal to consider any changes from the original factory specification. I eventually managed to find another insurer, but it shows the difference in approach on this side of the pond.
I know someone has probably already mentioned this to you; I would recommend you wearing a set of construction knee pads when down on that concrete floor. As a mechanic (about your age) your knees and back will thank you. Great video.
Keith I really enjoy watching you battle winter. You’re a trooper sir! Getting the Bobcat with the snow thrower attachment is totally what you need up there on that mountain. Keep making great videos!
From Texas, watching your video adventure. We are in the teens temp wise but, no snow. Enjoy what you share with all of us. Stay safe my brother. Love you and your family. I came to a point in my life(about 30 years ago) where I realized the importance of having the right tool for the job. But I also appreciate your creativity in using what you have to get the job done. Thanks for sharing and stay warm. Russ from NW Oregon
Yes on the bobcat and snow blower, may be slower then a plow But you only have to move it once. When you go to the machine shop let them know you are looking for a Drill press, maybe a Johansson radial arm or a Industrial gang drill table press. a Radial arm is a nice machine jest because you you can move the drill to where you need it. and they have a nice big table to work on. Take care and be warm .
Heath for President!! Id vote for you judt because youre an old Ford guy...lol 😂😅 And, an olf fashioned get er dun kind a guy, several times. Love ya'll ❤️ Stay safe and warm😊
That Skid Steer & Snowblower make short work of snow clearing. The drone shots are amazing. The place looks magical in the snow. Love the deer🦌 They are becoming more accustom to you now🦌 Take care & stay safe.☃️🥶😉👍🏻
Heated shop, snow blower, good equipment, exotic deer, beautiful land. What else could a man want? You also have a beautiful family. Yoy have worked hard for it all, enjoy yourself, you deserve it all. Amazing how far you have come. Thanks for the videos, I always enjoy your story. Be safe.
@11:43 There is a giant R in the side of that mountain in the snow 😁👍🏼. Whether that’s by Nature or By design.... I’m Saying if God made it then Red Poppy Ranch couldn’t have nene put in a better place ! 😉
Oh… I can hardly wait ,to see the little cabin in a better place .. and trails cut !!!! Your older kids & wife are going to love you even more ! Thanks for another great episodes.. RPR 💚the green truck is the best yet !
Great video! Everything looks GREAT with the snowblower. I like the way it moves the snow and blows it in a very clean thin blanket on top of the snow next to the road. It really gives it a pristine look!
I had a 72 f250 Camper Special, and when you removed the brake roter when I had to replace the brakes, the shop ordered parts for a F250 and they had to get a larger ones I think they were 11 inch rotors. The parts we upsides for the Camper Special pickups. Might possibly be a source for parts. Liking the build. Stay safe during the winter.
Heath- I needed to cut a trail through some very rough, thick 10 yr old cut over (Louisiana). I attached some flagging engineers tape to my drone and literally flew the path I wanted to blaze, allowing the tape to float down and thus illuminate my proposed trail. Just a thought.
Your Snow Blower is a game changer Heath . I hope it works for you years to come . Between your snow blower and Marcs that road should never be full of snow. I hope the blizzard doesn't give you to much snow . Im counting the days to spring so i can garden again. I hate the winter. So cold God Bless
We got 15” last light and everything has been sloppy. I’m in farm land, so it’s solved quickly, but I’ve got to feed and water my chickens, and my wife and I enjoy that. We love living in the mountain farmlands, and that means doing things that others will rarely do. I almost wish we had fallow deer!!!!!
nice part about having the blade and the snow blower is that you can windrow the snow into the center, or off to the side and then snowblow the snow away
Your mechanical skills are totally amazing. Do you even realize what those skills will be worth when SHTF all over? You all have the skills to survive when the worst is upon us. Love your channel, even tho I don't understand most of the rebuilding you do! LOL! Ya'll be safe. It's 5* here in N Central Texas, with a light dusting of snow.
Heath the rolling frame that you have from under the old ford. Should be turned into a log sled to get the logs off the mountain side. Just add a long pull bar off the front and then tie it too the skid steer
Heath, I’m curious. You’re right about the plow moving more snow faster. What I do is plow and come back and blow to keep width as open as possible. It would mean more wear and tear on blower but spring melt could be controlled or directed away from the road a bit. Thoughts?
I too like tinker and with trucks and such. I'm a Toyota fan i'd like third Gen. 4 runners and second Gen. Tacoma's. As you can tell by my thumbnail. They're fun to work on.
Hey Heath, I love your channel partner, thanks for the great content. Also the deer are awesome! Just a thought, you should pick up a heater for that deer water bowl.. And used a water trough heater to keep it from freezing! Just a thought my friend. Take it easy brother.
For once the weather down here in Arkansas is similar to what's going on up there. Snow, 15 degrees. One of the extremely rare occasions when a snowplow on my Jeep would come in handy. (Not that there's anywhere to go right now. The whole city shuts down when it snows here.)
@@Peter-jo3wt yep, because it's usually warmer and doesn't stay cold, and the snow turns right back into ice the instant the sun goes down. If it just stayed cold, that would be fine and we could figure it out. But it doesn't stay cold.

We just had a two day blizzard here in SW Minnesota. Only a couple inches, but 50+ mph winds. Couldn’t see the township road a hundred yards away. 4+ foot drifts that blew in like concrete. So hard a 10 foot wide blower on a 25 ton tracked tractor just went over them. Sucks to say the least! Love the progress on your ford, lucky you to find another one!😊

Love to watch your videos every Sunday! Beautiful Winter scenes for those of us in the South. Reminds me of Little House on the Prairie. 🙂 Have you ever commented on how much wood (weight or chords) and how much Propane or Natural gas you use in the Winter for heating, on average per day? Curious as to how long those Gas tanks and that wood pile lasts during your Winter months. Cheers and good luck with your Fallow Deer! See you on tomorrow's presentation.

I share your channel with as many friends as I can to help you break that 400 K. Thx for making these vids super cool ! Mike
The nice thing about a snow blower is that it doesn't cause all the snow to pile up into one compacted bunch right on the edge of the road, but spreads out a little bit and stays powdery. That means that it'll both melt a lot quicker and shouldn't turn into as goopy of a mess when it does. It also is very satisfying to see the snow seemingly disappear
I knew it all along. Where i'm from the snow used to be managed by snow blowers. Tidy & effective. I knew once you'd get yourself a good snow blower you'd never go back to ploughing. Sadly nowadays snow blowers have pretty much disappeared over here, probably because it uses more gasoline than ploughing does. 🤷♂

It makes our day to see old fashioned values still alive today: worship with family and dressing for it especially with a neck tie! Thank you!🙏
Because of the severe windchill churches in Minnesota canceled services.
My Dad always loved his snowblower! When he passed away it was left to my brother.
