I don't know besides making more trap beats on it. Love your videos man, they make me feel like I'll be ok with the MPC One. Keep overthinking and telling myself to save for the MPC X but the One can get the job done. Keep the videos coming. Do some R&B or Pop tracks.
Please tell me why, when synchronizing two grooveboxes "Warps and Mpc One", it is impossible to synchronize only midi, and we can output the audio of both devices to the mixer? Thank you
the looper is really the hidden gem of the MPC... and I wasn't even using it quite like this but this makes a ton of sense. before this I had only used it to layer sounds, and add extra voices to hardware synths that I have that are limited in that way. dope and useful vid.
I agree. Learning how to use that makes the MPC a dangerous machine in the right hands. Great sampling abilities and now I can have all of omnisphere on it too.
Finally an instructional video on this subject that I can actually follow and understand. I've really struggled with getting this done. I'm not very technically minded but you have made this so clear and easy for me. Thankyou so much ma man. Keep up these videos mate and thankyou again. Peace always
Definitely the most helpful guide on this subject I've seen so far. Picked up an MPC earlier this month and I'm still getting my feet wet, but you've given me some direction on controlling my volcas and microfreak that will prove invaluable. Thanks!
Controlling other devices via midi is one of the best features of the MPC. I midi up my ensoniq EPS classic with my Live 2 to get that grimy sound while using the MPC's superior sequencer
You explain things really well. I went through a boat-load of videos and no one but you went through the whole process, detail by detail, methodically checking off all the boxes. You also stuck to the point, which I appreciate. For some reason, that's not your fault, I can't get my Third Wave to talk to my MPC-X. I'm going to try and hook up another synth tomorrow and see if that one works. Much respect!
I promise there’s six degrees of separation between humans. (Not 6ft 😷😂) I was just troubleshooting this type setup a few days ago with the Live 2 & couldn’t get it to work. Now I see why!! 😆 You demo the process clearly and precisely. Thanks always, Ave. ✌🏽✊🏽💯
I love this video man, I recently bought a minifreak and I'm new to the midi game, I been recording the midi then recording it again on an audio track which was really tedious and annoying but seeing your tutorial on using the looper ro record the midi and save it to a pad is a game changer, I'm loving the new work flow I now have, thanks brother 👍 keep up the great work
In order to become the Midi King, Akai must first significantly improve the latency of the new MPCs (one, live, x). My Mpc 2500se is the Midi King with 0.02ms latency. Greetings from Germany
Just picked this kit up last week! Hoping it will be a center pcs of my mini studio. Got one plus! It's damn cool looking. I love all the things you can potentially do with it. Thanks for the video. I'll be referring back time to time. (think Akai's latest updates expanded the options even more now on what can be plugged in).
I made a midi track to control my synth and another audio track to listen to it and apply effects to it. I can change midi live and tweak the synth live. I hadn't used this looper workflow before but I like it, it think it would be easier on the processor. Thanks for the video!
Great explanation thank you and I feel motivated too possibly adjust some of my home studio. Only thing in song I dislike... exploited jingles. Loud samples and fake beat drum patterns.
Thanks buddy, just been playing with the beringer model D for base lines and now I can record it in, and then work on the lead which I can leave as midi and play it live.
Yo! This video has helped me so much. I purchased a Roland JV 1010 and without this video I'd just be staring at a damn box without a clue. The looper idea is really a genius way to use and reuse various sounds from the same machine. Thank you very much for this video!
I know everyone is excited about using the MPC as a controller, but is there a way to connect them and still use them separately or do you have to use the MPC as a way to control the whole thing? Like if I want to connect the minifreak but still play it and have the music layer in the MPC? sorry if this is a dumb question. New at this.
hi, I'm still a bit confused about MIDI connection and recording. say if I want to hook up my MPC to a MIDI controller keyboard and play the keyboard to record a bassline into the MPC sequencer using an MPC bassline sample. what's the correct MIDI connection between them? keyboard MIDI OUT to MPC MIDI IN? or the other way around?
Because you didn’t do all the steps. You skipped over steps. Did you plug up the audio cables? Did you set the recording level on the Mpc? Did you turn up the volume on the synthesizer? Did you go to the sampler mode on the MPC and activate the monitor in? All of that is in the video!
Not sure if you covered this previously but is there a way to fade out audio tracks. I know there is a fade in option but I hate the way it cuts off at the end of the loop.
I actually got the mpc to record what's coming out of my mpk but I have a ton of feed back when using the sounds from my mpk keyboard..How do I get rid of that??
What kind of audio cable did you use to connect the Microfreak to the MPC? I just purchased the Microfreak, and I'm having trouble finding the right cable to connect the audio to my MPC.
Very helpful video, thank you for this. I have a question.... is it possible to connect 2 synths via midi to the MPC One? for example, can I connect 1 via usb, and another one via the midi in/outs? would Iike the mpc to trigger my synths, but would also would like to have the option of playing the actual keys on synths, if that makes sense.
you have any recommendations for a DIN midi cable? I'm not sure if its across the board but I had to replace my first MPC one because the midi ports were so loose and the replacement while actually able to recognize a device has connected isn't really any more consistent. I still have to make sure the cables are in some exact random position/ tensions too actually transmit/revceive :(
Hey Ave bro I just got My Fantom -06 and wanna do the same thing with the Fantom 06 and my MPX XSE but I wanna send midi and the sounds from the fantom to the x so woul I do this exact process u just did bro ?
are all the midi and changes done like what you did in the vid stored in individual programs or is it global? for example can i have one program set up with one hardware synth etc and then another set up for a different hardware synth or do i have to change these midi settings globally each time when i swap out synths? thanks for your videos!
Good question! You can actually save different global MIDI options in the MENU>MIDI Control options. However, I was just plugging the synths up and using default MIDI CC features.
in Midi 001 the midiport dropdown box with MPC mine has also others in there, it wont trigger my Neutron on the MPC but if I change it to Neutron (1) MIDI 1 I get the sounds. I'm on the latest firmware, is this a difference in firmware or am I doing it wrong? Its confusing... Also just a little feedback for ya, the images are blurry as shit and can't see any other text clearly.... Maybe, could I request that you do an updated version that has a clear picture :)
My looper doesn’t play like yours does after I followed all the steps when I hit play it’s silent but the pad is connected to the loop sample when I hit it so I don’t understand

AVE, I can follow everything until SAMPLE ON. My MPC doesn't let me turn it on. 😣 The OFF button stays off...so, no connection again. Hmmm. Do I need to 'arm' the sampler somehow beforehand?
I would like to hook two synthesisers to the mpc one . Would I need a multi USB hub and are there ny issues with latency have you noticed ? Also I am only able to do 4 second samples....how do I solve this issue ?
I would like to to do a midi connect between MPC Live to Logic but I would like the MPC Live to be the slave and Logic to be the master.. Any ideas on how to do this on MPC Live settings ?
Hey Ave, following along with the tutorial and everything works except when I go to record I no longer have the count-in. It just immediately records. Any ideas what can be causing this? For clarity, I'm using a microkorg as my hardware synth.
I am trying to connect my MPC one to an audio interface with with MacBook Pro. The audio sounds perfect with ableton but when I try to connect usb from mpc to the Mac or audio outputs from mpc to the interface I’m getting like a static hum and not getting any audio from the mpc one. Any help would be appreciated. I’m a rookie 😂
Depends on the synth output. My Moog's volume is loud enough itself where I can set the record volume to half and it's clear. My DX7 at its highest volume requires me to add a Maximizer effect on the MPC sampler track to get it to sound loud and clear.
smh I don't see any of these options; every tutorial I pull up on this is frustrating cause none are answering my question; none of the interface on here is on mine ... that's some b.s.
Does this work on the mpc x like that it’s connecting but can’t get no sounds from the fantom x 6 but the bottoms are lighting up once I touch the mpc x pads
