Thanks for sharing! What I really liked was the extra step: more infos and details than a „first steps“ tutorial and at the same time very performance oriented and real life usage scenarios! :)

Really awesome tutorials in this series. I’ve learned a lot more than I ever knew was possible in the MPC models. Just have one question… is it possible to change the BPM of an external synth sample after the fact or is the sample restricted to the original project’s BPM once it is sampled?

Hell yea man this was my next road to travel and master the midi section- perfect! I have many synths and use a m8 and t8 midi solutions boxes I usually use into daw but this should work great into mpc #no dawcomputer

My keyboard of 10 years old already knows which chord I play and adjust the arpeggios. This one is back to zero with extremely difficult buttons that need a genius. Maybe that's why there are a lot on the second hand market.

Great videos. I've learned a lot from all your masterclass MPC videos. I'm thinking about hooking up a Korg Wavestate MK2 to my MPC live 2. This is a much more complicated synth than the one you used as an example here. Can you see any problems with doing this? The wavestate doesn't have a sequencer on board where you can record your song, but it has great sampling capabilities, so I thought I'd use it. Do you see any problems with this set up. Thanks for all your work.

Go for it! Everything should work fine, Mitty will transfer the notes and then any knob and slider changes you make on the synth will be recorded as automation. You should be totally fine. I’m not sure about the wave state, but if it has a controller mode, you could even use it to control some of the internal sense inside of the MPC and have even more hands-on.

I had just brought a brand new MPC One from Guitar Center for $629 and after watching your video at 1:29 I realize that I will need to order a new 1/4’ TRS cable or will I need a Dual 1/4’ TRS to connect the audio out my Roland JV- 1080? As a new beginner I don’t want to buy any of the MPC Expansions until I can see what I can create with just the MPC One and the 1080 which I have fully loaded with 4 expansion boards. I ask these questions because I only have two single single 1/4’ TRS cables that I was gonna use to connect my silver Rokit KRK monitors to my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface just in case I wanted to learn how to use Ableton Live Lite which I have installed in my MacBook Pro but now after seeing your video I realize that I need another set of cables if I just want to hear the Mpc & the 1080 in stand alone without connecting my MacBook Pro because I just want to make beats & be able to sample with my ION USB Turntable which also has a built in red & white RCA jacks. Any advice will be appreciated

    (1) What is the maximum number of midi and audio tracks that can be loaded? (2) What is the maximum number of bars that you can create?

I wanted to add an external hardware synth for my mpc live 2 but I dont want to break the bank. What can you recommend?

hi! i connected my nord stage 2ex to the mpc. the midi works, but not theaudio. when i press keys on my nord, in the main window of the mpc on the track tab there's a signal that sound is going in. but when i go to the sampler, there's no signal entering, even though i did the steps you mentioned just as they are. the sound on the nord stage is at full levels so that's not the problem. My nord sends audio signal to the mpc, and then the mpc goes into a scarlett.

Do you have the monitor set to in on an audio track on the MPC, so the audio passes through the MPC?

Hey, just to clear up, the USB connection you have highlighted is USB-b - USBb. does it matter? I have a Roland Fantom and MPC Live 2 but never really found the best workflow. I think I'm missing a mixer of some kind. The Roland fantom has a 16 channel separate outputs but the drums suck on it so I think best way to go is to sync MIDI to the MPC. Do you know if I use DIN cables if I will be able to use the USB connection from the Fantom to the computer so that I still have my 16 channels? In theory anyways. If you could recommend a mixer that might take care of all these "talking to each other connections" that would be sweet.

in theory yes, but usually gear will only hear usb midi or 5 pin, not at the same time. you could use either usb or din to the mpc, but would have to switch in the phantom if you wanted to switch between usb/5pin. Ive never used the fantom so not sure the settings.
One idea, sequence with the MPC, via midi 5 pin, then USB to computer to run all the audio into the Daw?
