This should be required viewing for new MPC Live users. Totally overlooked the erase "except note" function, def a time saver. Sample cycle is a total power move, was trying it with keygroups, setting loop points and reverses and then turning the arp on and getting all kinds of madness :) Nice work, great tips!
Anytime and thanks for the comment!! Many more workflow videos to come
Ya
This guy's presentation is, by far, 1 of the best on RUclips 👍
Thanks for watching!
yes. thank you. quick and easy to digest. you’re a rare breed
Dude, I know I’m getting to you late on this video! I have watched a lot of creators with their “Masterclass” tips…
Brother, you take it to another level! I cannot thank you enough for all of this vital information! I have taken a week off of work, just to focus on your master classes! This is amazing! Just to have somebody proclaim the truth and knowledge back to you, and reinforce that Information/knowledge!
Simply profound!
Happy it helped and thanks for watching! More on the way. trying to make RUclips full time so I can pump out the videos.
Great tutorial with great music, as always!
Thank you for sharing you knowledge!!!
Best channel for MPC tips!
Sheesh, this channel is one of the best I’ve sub’d in a long time.
This is a power house of tips. Thank you for making these videos.
Glad you like them!
Wow… this was fantastically informative. I recently added the MPC Live 2 into my setup coming from an entirely Elektron background. I surprisingly took to the MPC workflow quite well but it is a lot of jumping back and forth between menus (whereas Elektron’s are less like menus and more like tabs). I’m using the menu+command regularly but everything else you added on top of that… wow, it can be so much faster even. The subtractive deleting is exactly how I use my Elektron boxes to flesh out songs and I was planning on using the Live in a similar fashion so you just showed me the fastest way to implement that technique. And the Sample Cycling… wtf. This was excellent. Definitely liked and subscribed. Looking forward to more of your content. Thank you for this.
Thanks for watching this morning, what sort of videos would you like to see in the future?

No problem 👍
Very helpfull! Yes, please more. I am completely new to the mpc concept and I am glad to see, that it is more than a daw if you know how tracks and sequences can be used to actually play a song.
I have been thinking about doing a full master class series on the workflow, is this something that would be helpful?
@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE , I don't know. Depends on the content. I bought my MPC 1 for sampling and looping and sequencing my hardware to completely finished tracks. But my compositions are all in one sequence, each track in it, from intro to the end. Like building a track in FL Studio...
Good clear informative video, well done!
My pleasure

Nice tip on the cycling.
One sequence workflow was where I ended up. Most logical method for me.
One sequence in a linear style?

Both.
Il work like you initially. Whole track in a single seq.
Copy out and mute/edit.
Convert song to seq then edit as one before recording any automation.

There’s a ton of tutorials on here for mpc but that sample cycle I had no idea it could do that as I asked that as loads as I do house with loads of percussion and 4 bar loops this is great thank you

Bro this has helped my arrangement and saved me so much time thank you!!

Ty Soooo Much💯❤️🩹❤️🔥🎶🎶
For me, Akai has taken the theory of limitation breeds creativity to another level since the MPC2000. However they maintained the same workflow feel but now created many different ways to be smart in getting the results you want.
In particular this video shows that genius mode of working. Especially with the sample cycling.
Thanks for the kind words, will have more Masterclass videos on the way soon, also stay tuned for a full training course on the Akai force
Damn I learned so much I was missing. Thank you

Thanks brother 👍🏾
Anytime man! Thanks for supporting!
@@CREATEEDUCATEINSPIRE 🙌🏾💯
Thank you!!
I had stopped copying my sequences because I thought it was oversight from akai as far as duplicating muted pads (unwanted pads). I had to recreate whatever pads I needed on my next sequence. Now, it all makes sence.
Thanks again!!

Great Video, the Sample Cycling is a super super tip, just to add to that, for other folks watching, you have your MPC connected to the computer therefore you Time Stretching algorithm is Elastic Pro, not Pro Ten when you are in Standalone mode, there is a big difference in these. Elastic Pro is probably the best we have in the industry, Cubase, Protools, Bitwig all use this exceptionally well. In Controller mode, the CPU weight is shifted to your computer so you will be way better results and the sample cycle will take it to the next step, so if its super critical time stretching always connect to the computer using the software. You can always just bounce the audio back on to a pad, so that you can work without the computer, but you know you got the best time stretch already in your project.
Thanks!!
