I love the autosampler its so convenient not having to sample all the keygroups individually. Its handy to just have your synth inside the mpc and not have to connect it up, plus with the extra layers, envelopes, lfo, effects etc theres so much sound sculpting you can do inside the mpc later.
Thanks! FYI, I just got done sampling from my iPad and using Bluetooth midi. The tricky part was to know to set the midi port on my track to iPad Bluetooth. And keeping that Bluetooth connection going. But it worked and the Moog Model D classic lead preset sounds great on my new MPC Keygroup.
Dude! You are a Guinness! Thank you for your videos, you're really the only person making videos that really help Akai users with legit information. Well done sir! I subscribed to the channel. Keep making great content! 👏👏👏👏
The X is my first foray into the MPC platform, and I've only had it for several months, but I've been tossing around the idea of selling it and going with a Maschine MK3 and Komplete, but every time I watch one of your videos I decide to keep the MPC for another week... until I start thinking about Native Instruments again, and then another one of your videos drop, and the MPC X stays again.. and so on and so on 🤣 This device is just so powerful with so many hidden features that I continue to discover thanks to your videos. Great content 👍
Dating back to 2003, I've strictly used Fantoms to create, arrange and mix full songs entirely inside the onboard Roland interface, moving away from workstations to DAW + midi controller for the last few years, and so I haven't really been able to fully embrace the MPC way of arranging specifically. Which is the main reason why I've considered Maschine. Your "song mode" videos have helped, is there anything else you'd recommend for me to watch in regards to MPC song structure and arrangement?
I commented on another post , but I truly see an advantage to Kit Maker, if you want the Machines sounds and use them with your MPC. Ave MCrae did a great review about the app. It's on my 'to buy' list for my studio.
Truly one of the most powerful and underutilized features. Akai is one of the few companies still around that has been serious in the sampling game since day 1.

Had a heck of a issue auto sampling a Roland D-05. Sounds like some tones were “stretched” shorter in the MPC. It only sounded right after using a laptop and MPC 2 software. Otherwise, auto sampling is great.
I been auto sampling all my favorite sounds and I go to guitar center with my live and grab every keyboard on display…. Program edit, and adjust your envelope release to get the nice sound then add effects…
The workers there don’t trip over you sampling the sounds from whatever workstation? I’m asking because before I read your comment, I was just thinking about going to a Guitar Center or wherever and using my Live to sample the keyboards but I was concerned about the assistants or manager pitching a fit about sampling from gear they’re trying to sell.

This video made me subscribe! Very Good! I'm about to buy a MPC Key 61 or 37, but I'd like to know if I can load any sound through an external mic and add this chromatically recorded audio. I want to sample a choir of friends' voices on one or two mics and set it to stereo to use the sound through the keyboard, or split some sounds sampled by the external mic into different octaves. Can I do all this on this MPC Key? Thank you.
Im using my external analog synth like this in my mpc. i have a nice patch, make a keygroup of it, have that patch in my mpc and can play it, if i want, without finding it again ^^ - i like that
@poli Popo. First off thanks for the video. So I sampled an ep piano from a synth and it sounds perfect. However, when I hold the notes or want to sustain for a bit the sound loops eg. sound stops and starts again. Do you know a workaround for this?
I’m with you PoPo! I Auto Sample is great to use! I think Akai needs to improve the interface though. It should be graphical so you can actually see a representation of how the sample is being affected. But the sound reproduction is great if you set it to chop the samples correctly.
Hey whats up Poli, love the videos theyve helped a lot! Can you do this same procedure but with drum kits? I have a motif 6 i want to steal the drums from.
Hello Poli popo. When you sample the sound from a keyboard can you take multi sample with nuances? That means that a sound like saxophone has different nuances in one key. Could you give us an example step by step? So how do you collect all the samples that a key contains?
Awesome. But Poli, how do i save the sound that I’ve just autosampled, where is it when I later want to recall it? For example: I’ve connected my synth and autosampled it, then maybe made some adjustments to the sound in the MPC keys 61 (the one I have), now I want to save it as a program/preset/sound so that I can recall it for use later on, what’s the process there, how save it. There are many vids on yt that shows the autosample process, yours was the most straight forward, thank you for that, but they don’t show how and where to save the sound they just created. I’m really lost here. On the Montage for example if I create a new sound I can store it as a new performance and it ends up in the Users folder. Is there an equivalent on the MPC? I understand how to save a project with a song to whatever external hard drive for example. But how save a sound? The 61 is growing in me and I like the fast workflow when creating a song. I wish it was a little more stable though and didn’t crash every so often. If Akai only had put in more RAM, well… it is what it is.
After you autosample, go to keygroup and find the sound you sampled, press the pencil ✏️ on the right of program and you can save it to an external drive or where you want it. I hope this helps 💯 🎶
