New shifter sheet and locater bolt should fix that sloppy shifter. They make upgraded styles out of brass or delrin, or you can buy a stock replacement. Should be able to find them online from any of the suzuki vendors. Roadless gear is my go to
Hey thank you, this is definitely on my list of things to fix. Driving it home for the first time I kept going into 3rd every time I went to shift into 5th lol.
Zukz off road buddy. Tower housing for the shifter needs to be replaced or repaired. I'd also do a carburetor swap to a Toyota 3k carb if you don't want to spend a lot. Or you can adjust the old one. If you have a clicky starter... wiring a relay switch to the starter will eliminate it 😁 if you have any questions don't be shy 😊 I own a 87 Suzuki Samurai. Also check vacuum lines. When they are old, they stretch and leak, so you may need to cut the ends off or replace them
hello from New Zealand! i have an sj410k i am restoring and am enjoying watching your journey. re the video editing software, theres a bit of a learning curve but davinci resolve free version video editing software is very good
@@FixLife119yes, it was popular with New Zealand farmers back then, they used them on farm land so they are typically in rough shape. Both floor pans in my need new steel welded in and the windscreen too, going to take a long time. Will chip away at it slowly - was thinking of video documenting it but probably wont as ill spend that time instead working on it.
@@testttest3363 That'll be awesome. Maybe just set up a camera and set it for time lapse. You could always add the commentary after the fact. I think people would love to watch the floor pans getting changed!
Wait so you do all the editing right from your phone????? Every night I'm uploading videos to my laptop, that usually takes 3 tries, then I go through and number them so I don't get confused once I upload them to the editing software. Then I load them into Invideo like 5 or 6 at a time so it doesn't freak out. Then I edit, then sleep if there's time.
also, no offense here buddy, but long videos will take a long time to render 2am late nights are rough and best avoided. + most people wont be able to watch 40mins in one sitting 10 or 15-20mins is probably as long as you want to make em. easier for your editing and more engaged viewers.
I hear ya, most younger people won't watch a 5 min video nowadays lol. I know its not for everyone. Last night I was able to edit with no issues. I tried something different with the way I layer them on the timeline. Tech support didn't tell me anything like that but I'll try again tonight and see if it was just a fluke or not.
@@FixLife119totally, young folks brains are damaged by the tiktok 5sec attention span clips. causing big issues learning at school - scary stuff. I finished the clip, just had to do it in 2 sittings! 😂 re video editing stuff ah ok that makes sense, more video layers might take longer as the software might think you are fading in and out over each layer - much harder for the computer.
@@testttest3363 I've gotten 2 videos out without crazy frustration, today's was starting to buffer toward the end but there was like 70 clips, and that's about twice as many as usual so I think it did seem to help, I'm so relieved lol.
New subscriber here...I'm really enjoying everything about this series now!!!!!
That's so great to hear, thank you for taking the time to say that!

So the tower housing, is that what I need to look into to get rid of all that play on the gear shifter?
@@FixLife119 you can do it in 20 minutes or less
@@FixLife119 Id set the idle just a little higher. Just under the one on the rpm gauge. I noticed your drops pretty low.
@@FixLife119the part you want to look for is called a shifter sheet, Highway 83 Suzuki sells a brass one.
@@CTMadModz Ok, I'm gonna screenshot this so I don't forget. I think that's a pretty important fix if I go to sell it later on.

New Zealand, so cool! I had to look up what an sj410k was, I had no clue they made one into a truck, that's rad! That'll be such a cool project!

I film everything with my phone too, I use Splice app for editing. It’s so easy to use that I have a hard time switching over to using my GoPros 🤣

All ones I see mount down where the frame has tie down eyelets inside of frame.
