    I just got a radius arm kit from James Way Off-road out of pismo beach for the front end of my 02 and that completely changed the way my truck rides and performs off-road. It pushed my axle about an inch and half forward so my 37s (soon to be 39s) tuck with room to spare and there’s no shock loading my frame from the short arms with every bump anymore. Anyways, I vote that you do some sort of long arm conversion for the front end

    In this instance your two cents is actually worth $0.37 which puts you in the same category with the world's most interesting man. I have a 94 W2500 and this rear suspension makes a lot of sense to me. I have been researching DIY 4 link set ups, but the Deaver leaf springs would definitely expedite and simplify the project. Not sure about cost comparisons, but guessing the springs might be a money saver too. Thanks for your content.

    I'd like to mention that there are cradles for air bags so they aren't attached at the bottom and will still allow offroad flex. It will probably decrease their life, but it's an option other than timbrens if you want adjustability and flex.

    • @JustDiesels
      @JustDiesels  Год назад +1

      Yeah those work! On 2nd gens the whole cradle/bag situation gets a little funky, since all bag kits for these trucks are made to work around the stock blocks that get removed. With some clever off menu tricks you can make it work, but I find the Timbren spacers to be a lot cheaper and easier.
      My good buddy had the Firestone bag/ daystar cradle setup on his 2nd gen with these leaf packs and it works killer.

    • @JustDiesels
      @JustDiesels  9 месяцев назад +1

      Since the add a pack maintains the base springs, there's no increase in travel and no major improvement in small bump compliance. You do improve ride on big dips or hits, but it's nowhere near what's possible with the full pack. I personally think the add a pack isn't worth it compared to just keeping the stock rear springs.

    • @unknown_truckers
      @unknown_truckers 9 месяцев назад

      @JustDiesels I appreciate that, I tow over 10k pretty often and I already have bags and cradles but my enclosed trailer can be pretty tongue heavy and I would rather not overload the air springs when I fully load up everything.
      Although I did find that 37s do a pretty good job at bump compliance with the 2.5 kings as it sits

    Not to sway anybody, I also have these springs on my second gen and they are definitely not worth the price. He of course removed his rear sway bar which I did not want to do. But that being said every day drive I have noticed zero difference. Still have axel hop and still rides like a wagon. One more thing is I snapped a break like trying to get these springs in and you can see on mine much more flex than straight will snap the brake line again (it is the weight position valve? Brake line to the frame) so I payed a lot of money for something that does nothing extra. It does not even flex because I have tried, definitely no where near this video demonstrates, but again I have my sway bar still, also if I flex like that video I would snap a brake line every time. And it’s not a break line I can just stretch. I would also like to think the sway bar wouldn’t cause it to ride and hop like factory springs but from what I can say for a 100% fact is the springs I got for my truck did not perform anything like what he showed or demonstrated

    • @JustDiesels
      @JustDiesels  Год назад +3

      To be perfectly honest your issues are all install related. The brake proportioning valve linkage must be removed, as well as the rear sway bar. Additionally, it sounds like you may not be running the proper rear shocks either, so all of those things are working together to hurt your ride and limit articulation.
      Essentially you’ve taken an A1 Wagyu steak, cooked it in the microwave, and then complained that it sucked. Proper installation and parts mix is key to actually making a product like this work. I don’t mean to be accusatory, but that’s the cold hard facts of the situation.

    • @dozerdewalt4770
      @dozerdewalt4770 Год назад

      @@JustDiesels So obviously you are correct on the install part. I did have the sway bar disconnected but I did not for the valve because the instructions didn’t say anything because they were not for my truck. They were a general use instructions which showed 3rd gens. But regardless nobody on the website or who I’ve talked to said you need to remove parts for it to work. I don’t want to remove my valve and I don’t want to remove my sway bar for hauling purposes. I don’t have the shocks you have but I do have the performance package so it does have res- shocks from CJC so they are for the springs, and I don’t believe again the sway bar makes it ride rough. If I was rock crawling or something I’d remove it but I just want a comfortable ride down the road and those springs did absolutely nothing, and I could remove the sway bar and I’d say it would ride just as bad but sway a lot more. So again I do have all the parts that “work as a team” front and rear mind you, front sway bar and all but the rear still rides like a wagon. However I do appreciate the response, it is nice to get some knowledge from someone that knows a little more than I do with carli

    • @JustDiesels
      @JustDiesels  Год назад

      What tire pressure are you running and what’s your wheel tire combo? These leaf packs are way softer than stock, so the only way they can ride like stock is if something else is holding you back. The sway bar doesn’t help but it might be a tire pressure issue too.

    • @kaiserbailey
      @kaiserbailey Год назад

      Why run a sway bar on the rear?
