Awesome vid Andrew. Would love to do a built trans for my blue truck some day! I think that's one of the only things I wouldn't want to attempt to build myself on my truck. There's so much to learn.
Nice video on your 2nd gen stage 1 transmission. My 2004.5 Dodge 48 re OEM transmission gave me problems, dead OTR! I called Sonnex Rep and Gorend. All Sonnex Billet internal shafts. Personally showed up at the shop with the output shaft kit for the transfer case. Gorend custom built 48re valve body. Stage 4 triple disk converter ultra low stall from Rev Max, Magtech deep pan. Still running strong. I drive an old Dodge pick-up truck!👴🏽👍🏽
If anyone in NorCal needs a transmission built, Pro Built Transmission in Sacramento is best in NorCal. He built my 47re, and it's bulletproof. Great shop.
I just ordered a valve body from them for my 47RE after seeing what they did for your truck. This is coming to Ukraine and it will be great I think. Thank you for the video, I was looking for a good valve body for a long time.
Sooo... Are there any shops (in SoCal) you'd recommend for electrical work on 1st gen trucks? I've got one with a few gremlins I'd like fixed, and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
That depends on the valve body, but typically stage 1-2 are pretty stock feeling. Mine is more tight than stock, but doesn’t slam me into the seat or anything like a 5 would.
@@JustDiesels Mine was a DTT installed by Fred Swanson in Waddell. It was a hard shifting monster. Same deal with downshifting. My buddy just had his 48re done with all Goerend parts and it's a dream.

So, how did you decide to spec out your torque converter... where do you plan your Lock-up to occur?
That undercarriage is insanely clean!
Dude fr
wow impressive shop, not too many folks can tear into a tranny like that, such specialized work
He'll yeah siiick. Just overhauled my 48RE. I was glad to see the previous owner had already upgraded & built the transmission.

I’m in sac and have been looking for a good place👌
I’m from Sac. I know a few good shops including pro built. Can’t wait to get my mega cabs 48re rebuilt
Impressive crew.
Hey man awesome video did they mention if there was something to do with a truck with bigger tires for the valve body.

Leave Ukraine! For the trucks sake
Amazing shop and skill level. Makes me want to get another auto.
Love it man great content awesome video. Keep up the great work.
Great video man! I have their stage 2 in my 2006 and love it.
I’m a year late lol but how’s it holding up?
Nailed it!
What are your thoughts on the CA Allison swap? I’d enjoy a write up on that. 3rd with a Allison, potentially the perfect truck?
Did you regear for the 37s ? Tier one says I need a minimum of 4.30 s for 37s to keep the warranty for the stage 2 68rfe
any upgrades to the transfer case?
Sooo...

I personally go to Maximum Diesels in Hemet for anything drivetrain or electrical I can’t solve on my own!
I like the way the truck looks with out the antenna nice clean look ! 👌🏼 how’s reception without it ?
Non existent.
With the stage transmission build, does the transmission make hard shifts through the gears, or is it smooth like stock?
