I loved PE, but this dancing would have been super for me. We didn't have any arts in our school. PE consisted of going outside and simply meandering around or playing softball for girls. I would have absolutely loved to have done something like this even with a small group.
Ugh right? I hated PE. Our teacher was a Korean War vet who used to line us up and yell at us like a drill instructor before class. And we almost never did anything fun. Square dancing and Bombardment, both were awful. The only activity I enjoyed was when he brought out his old silk parachute and let us play with it.

If this was a part of my school, this woulda changed my life... im so shoked of how this chinese principal/legend actually came up with the idea of engaging students in the idea of dancing in a way of doing some excersize outside but in a fun way that also entertains audience. Music and dance lights something inside all of us, and it's great to see children being happy and on their feet instead of sitting in front of a TV screen playing computer games!
I would rather see kids do this than sit somewhere on their cell phone playing games while on a break. Dancing and music is fun. Now if I could only dance.

Anyone who has ever done an aerobics (dance) class knows how much fun it is...... a brilliant concept to get the kids engaged with this form of healthy exercise. It looks like Irish dancing , Chinese style. Fantastic idea and you can see on the kids faces just how much they love it. No wonder Zhang Pengfei's Xiguan primary school videos are going viral!

Music and dance lights something inside all of us, and it's great to see children being happy and on their feet instead of sitting in front of a TV screen playing computer games!
I would rather see kids do this than sit somewhere on their cell phone playing games while on a break. Dancing and music is fun. Now if I could only dance.

It would be great if this was rolled out to every school in every country. There are so many positives: exercise, music, physical and mental co-ordination, memory stimulation, group activity, fun, outdoors. There is a place for phones, tablets and computers but this type of activity should also be a priority. Great initiative from this school principal.

Anyone who has ever done an aerobics (dance) class knows how much fun it is...... a brilliant concept to get the kids engaged with this form of healthy exercise. It looks like Irish dancing , Chinese style. Fantastic idea and you can see on the kids faces just how much they love it. No wonder Zhang Pengfei's Xiguan primary school videos are going viral!
