It would work so much better live if they got a separate singer and guitarist. They all look like they are doing too much. It annoys me they don't do that as the songs are always way underperformed.

You're a fckn idiot, you must of never seen them live, they sound just like their studio albums live, I rather see 3 guys on a stage showing off their musical talents instead of hiring more guys because they cant anymore, sit down dude you're a jackass

juan medellin You need to calm down.... I love Chevelle, but their live performances sound nothing like their records. Pete has even acknowledged that on several occasions. This is due to their being one guitarist. Their records are all quad tracked. There obviously aren’t four guitarists. So it makes for a different albeit still great sound. Second, they are doing way too much. They do really well as a 3-piece but the amount of work that they have exhibit to come close to their records is astounding. I’ve seen them live on several occasions and while they do put on a fantastic show, you can clearly tell that they are exhausted. It just happens.

Fair comments. Chevelle has been my favorite band ever since the first time I experienced Vitamin R. Have seen them live 8 times. Always a great time, but it is honestly lacking from what it could be for reasons already stated. One interesting experience though was seeing them in Minneapolis (2017 I believe). It was their second to last stop in their tour, right before they made it back home to Chicago for their last stop, and the performance was without a doubt the best that I have seen, especially the vocals. Guess Pete could see the end in sight and did not have to preserve himself as much. I mean he has been touring doing metal screams for >20 years. It takes a responsible and careful vocalist to be able to be where he is at today. I'll gladly take 80% live performances all this time so we can enjoy the next album and tour, and who knows if there could be yet another one after that!
